Do you introduce bitcoin and crypto to your friends?

Earlier, very few people knew about Bitcoin, but now people in most countries are learning a lot about Bitcoin, especially in various magazines, newspapers, online portals, television, social media, many topics are discussed about Bitcoin. So now there is no need for people to discuss about Bitcoin. They can automatically learn about Bitcoin from social media. However, with the strategic Bitcoin reserve bill that is currently being passed in different countries, people from different parts of the world will not be left to know about Bitcoin.

Such people need proper information - most are just triggered due to new ATH and what it brings in front for those that were bullish on BTC all this time from 60k-70k.

There is no doubt about what you said infact ehn I agree with you 100%. When it comes to BTC and other crypto assets ones had to be very security conscious. It is the ones closest to you that hurt you most, that why I usually tell people around me to a avoid any kind of friendship in the crypto space coz no one is your friend. yes I would introduce Bitcoin investment to my friends and family, reason been that , Bitcoin has shown over the years to be the best and  in years to come their will be more changes , so I would want my friends and family to benefit from it , but I will also enlighten them about the risk involved, and they have to sacrifice too nothing good comes easily in life , I will let them know that it’s all about determination, consistency and dedication to achieve what you want .

In the past, there were less educational resources on Bitcoin and if you wanted to learn about Bitcoin, you had to do more decent learning efforts to find documents for reading and learning than now. In 2025, fortunately there are abundant free resources to learn about Bitcoin, and I am not talking about Youtube videos that in my opinion, are not too good for learning.

I think if you introduce Bitcoin to your family relatives and friends or colleagues, you will have more troubles than benefits. It's their money and you surely won't get benefit from their investment, but you will feel like partially responsible for their loss in investment or trading. I know you possibly only advise them about investment, and warn them about risk of trading, but if they invest or trade in a wrong way and lose money, you won't feel well.

In addition, they can blame their loss or big loss on you, and it's nothing good for you mentally.

Yes of course, a few days ago a friend of mine wanted to know about Bitcoin. Although he has some idea about Bitcoin. I think he doesn't have to read too hard to explain to him. But first of all I would like to give an idea about this bitcointalk forum. Because I think it will be able to gain the highest knowledge of Bitcoin from this forum. And already he has been creating an account and started practicing. But I learned to him that he didn't know anything about any currency other than Bitcoin. Telling friends and family about bitcoin has own merits and demerits.

While it is good for crypto and growth of bitcoin thus benefitting all current users, there can be effects like them investing blindly in crypto. So we should be cautious in giving advice to friends and family. We should refer them good sources for getting all the information related to bitcoin and crypto.

The world has been digitalize even without telling people about Bitcoin they have heard about it severally and still hearing about in all media, the awareness of Bitcoin in almost all is high unlike before where few persons only know about bitcoin as it's also been taught in some of the institutions, but due to some security reasons most persons are afraid to tell people about Bitcoin one they might seen it as a scam investment and also they might also thought that you must be rich before you are telling them about Bitcoin.

I agree with you, currently I only talk about cryptocurrencies with close friends and especially those who just want to learn, and also follow up with several references, so they can review the lesson if they still don't understand. However, several times I have encountered people who blame cryptocurrencies and especially Bitcoin, when there is a related case, and I usually find it on social media platforms, and I usually argue that cryptocurrencies have nothing to do with all of this, then I rebut it with an explanation of the importance of privacy and not telling others about our ownership. And finally I will give an analogy that Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is the same as gold or other valuables, which should not be told or shown to others, to avoid possible losses in the future, so that they understand that there is nothing wrong with cryptocurrencies.

I would probably be a fool to be asked about bitcoin. It seems to be the best solution to keep us and our loved ones safe. Another solution is to be superficial about Bitcoin knowledge. Knowledge of Bitcoin technology does not mean that you are a Bitcoin holder, but I completely agree with you that if you have Bitcoin, it is better not to talk to anyone about cryptocurrencies at all, because you cannot be 100% sure that your conversation partner will not want to find out more about your savings and possibly try to take possession of your funds. I can relate to this how Bitcoin started as something I shared in close circles driven by curiosity and learning. It’s wise in today’s world where people often equate crypto with instant wealth which can bring unwanted assumptions or pressure.

Good job, but this depends on where you are from, some location are local areas or farm lands, these vital information might never reach there so if I am in such location I can take on the job to spread the information.

Right now I don't see the need to do this anymore because  everyone knows about Bitcoin now, the young and the old, everyone I know are into Bitcoin and trading, most of them are not even going to work anymore, they turned full time traders.

Now that most people already knows about bitcoin its better to avoid talking too much about it because of attentions, there are good and bad attentions, be careful out there.

You're doing a great job of educating people about Bitcoin, and I've been doing the same thing, but I've limited it because the cryptocurrency space isn't safe anymore. People could use the information you gave them to turn against you because they may assume you're investing in Bitcoin and start threatening you. This makes me keep this information secret and only explain it to my loved ones who show concern to learn about it, and why I don't see it's necessary to be spreading this knowledge anymore because right now everyone knows about bitcoin and other cryptocurrency investments, and if they are willing to learn about it, they can get all the necessary information online. And I will advise you to know who you tell about bitcoin so as to avoid creating problems for yourself because Bitcoin isn't new that one most be sharing it news around again.

At some point, I am sure that the friend who is giving out advices will get tired. You can't keep asking someone every little step. At some point you need to just do things on  your own and be independent. Your friend has his own life to live too and he can't keep coaching you on.
