This is one of the most loggerhead discussions about the bitcoin market, should I hold or sell, so I want this to be a tread of your opinions and why

I will go first
 
  The idea of either holding or selling your coins is always done with speculations and fear of the unknown in most cases(not all) however I feel this decision is not supposed to be based on arbitrary and random speculations, it should be done with proper analysis considering the economic and technical implications in the coin, whybwas the coin created  by who if possible, what else can the coin be used for etc   btc for example is gaining more and more global traction on a daily basis for so many reasons.  with this kind of economic information dded with the technical formation of the coin, decisions about holding or selling is almost 50% solved
  So I would prefer to hold for as long as possible, since coins generally do well with time

It's pretty obvious that if we talk about BTC, then it's good if we are going to hold for long term. Although that is big challenge for us investors, specially average joe like the majority of us. I mean we will have to go to a lot of process to accumulate and it's probably more of a mental battle.

And again, the question on how you are going to accumulate it, are you going to buy in lump sum if you have the money? Or just do what most of us are doing which is DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging). And if the latter then that's where the mental toughness will comes in. Because you will have to grind, weekly or every month and then hold for as long as you can.

Since we're talking altcoins, I assume Bitcoin's off the table. Honestly, I'm not a fan of long-term holding for altcoins. "HODL" really fits Bitcoin as it was born there. I don't see any of the top 10 altcoins deserving that title. So my answer is clear: don't hold altcoins. Dump 'em when you can and enjoy your profit.

You are referring to bitcoin talks then it is better to keep HODL than sell because I see there is still potential to go up this year, if for example you want to hold longer it is good that you can continue to accumulate bitcoin every week or month.

If you still have altcoins in the portfolio it is better to dispose of them, or you have seen a little profit then take it immediately, because we know when bitcoin has a correction then altcoins will fall deeper.

The crypto market is playing a game that may make many people a little emotional right now and this also directly describes our psychology, meaning how much we can survive in a situation like this.

Good decision. Bitcoin is scarce and that's why holding even at least 1 or even a few of it or less than 1 is beneficial to the holders.

It has a supply limit of 21M and we're near to at least 20M in supply in the circulation. And look at how many are in the population globally, so owning even a few of it makes us privileged because of its scarcity.

The winners have always been the long term holders and it's not only a few people that have proven it, but a lot. And if someone decides to sell, they have some reasonable reason why they've done that and there is no need to feel bad about it as long as they can accumulate it if they are also for long term.

it's only hard if you keep looking at the price 24/7 even the most adept investor will hardly not shaken.

but most of people I know who hold BTC and are holding it for long term would just stash their privkey or if they holding it in exchange which of course a risk, would just delete the app so they wouldn't get fixated on it.
basically invest and forget, investing will only become hard if the money you used is the money you needed to pay the bills and so on.

Right now your best word is wait a while longer if you want to enter into how many of our favorite coins. My hunch says maybe the decline will continue due to the US government's policy in the near future. Yes, many people are waiting for a reaction to the response that has been implemented and this will more or less have an impact on the development and movement of BTC prices too in my opinion.

Sell now or hold? That's what your thread title says, but your post is quite conflicting as I don't know if you're asking to hodl BTC or altcoins.

But if it's BTC then hodling is what my advise would be to you because there's still good news for this 2025 about bitcoin price rising higher than what we have now as ATH.

But on a second thought, if the topic was about BTC then it shouldn't be in the altcoins discussion board, hence it's here then I assume you're talking about altcoins but just junk in bitcoin into your topic. I don't advise anyone to hold altcoins for a long period, it's like sitting on a thin treadline, so always sell when you make some good profits and wait for a fall and rebuy again if you so believe so much in the potential of such altcoin.

You should know that not all coins do well over the time, the coin which you are holding will determine if you will make money even if you hold over time. If you are holding bitcoin, or other strong altcoins, then you should know that they are going to perform well over time, but if you are planning to hold shitcoin, then you should know that you are making a great mistake. Shitcoins are always hyped, and immediately the hype dies down, then the coin is also going down, so if you are planning to hold coins like that for long term, then you will end up losing your money. But if you are holding bitcoin and some strong altcoins, then you will be making profits over time.

Since altcoins are bitcoin, if the OP is in profit from his altcoin investment, I think it will be wise for him to sell his altcoin off and take profit before other smart investors do so, and he will regret why he didn't take profit when he had the chance by the time the altcoin he invested his money in dumps. Don't be a fan of any altcoin before the crypto market takes all the money you invested in altcoins. If you are investing in altcoins, always learn how to take profit anytime you see one.

The change in attitude and mentality is not because the market is down but we are not consistent and confident that the coin can provide great benefits to us after we buy it. wrong choice and weak foundation when market correction pressure occurs like in the near future. That's just the second factor in my opinion in terms of information and analysis playing an important role as you mentioned above.

Do you already hold a sum of money which is enough to fulfill your financial goals? Then sell your coins. Isn't it enough yet? Then continue holding, but make sure to be holding the right cryptocurrencies, and not some shitcoins, also known as memecoins, which have no value on long term.

The ideal would be to sell your coins during the peak of the bullish market and hold during the bearish times. However, it's not that easy to identify the ideal moment. So it's preferable to adjust your holdings to your financial goals, as mentioned above.

Personally, I think it's a good moment to sell, because we are living an optimistic season for a year already, and I'm not sure for how long it's going to last yet. But for an investor who don't think it's worthy to withdraw his money from crypto investments yet, due to the profits not being enough, he may feel encouraged to hold for another season. Anyway, he must be aware that it may take some years until being able to have profit again, just like it happened with investors who purchased Bitcoin during the peak of 2021, and had to wait until 2024 to cashout profits.

Base on your question mate, i think on this situation much better to keep holding if you're a long term holder coz obviously Bitcoin up to now still making correction. Which i think good to accumulate more while its on deep.  Btw recently i found good news about btc that still have a chance to reach 120k , I dont know if it's true but these news came from experts when it comes making technical analysis. . Hence,  its up to you mate if you want to continue. .make your own research and technical analysis as well . If you're good on your profits then make a good decision.

altcoins fallen big in the last 48 hours, but now recovering, btc is touched 100k$ very fast, but altcoins market condition is very bad still now, like dumped 25-40% but pumping 5-10%, still under huge losses all of the altcoins investors, so it think if altcoins investors want to sell their coins, they can exit with big losses, so they must be keep holding to recover their losses.

That's a good decision you have there and that's what you have to do. I haven't sold most of my alts but I have a good position holding Bitcoin. But that's not just all about positioning but I want to hold more of it for as long as I can. Maybe I'll wait further until I'd buy with the stable coins that I have held and profited with yet for now, I'm being patient on this market. Seems like we're having another correction and this is quite a lot.
