Do you think that Trump immigration policy will affect US economy?

from the data that i read it states that there are millions of undocumented immigrants working in america, and they work in various sectors such as health, manufacturing, etc. if trump really wants to deport them all from america, of course it will not only impact the american economy, but it will also cause disruption to various sectors throughout america.

this may be quite a complex problem, because the impact will be felt by millions of people. but what trump did is also justified because these immigrants came and did not have official documents to work there. if only they entered using official documents maybe this could have been avoided.

Since 20th of January 2025 that Trump was inuagurated as the 47th president of United State of America there has been incessant deportation of immigrant from US and most of this immigrant are people that were contributing in one way or the other to labour force of US adding value to the economy by paying taxes and driving some significant businesses in the country but Trump immigration policy has turn to a nightmare to them by series of deportation without considering the value they were adding to the country. I think this deportation has created a loophole to the value that the immigrant were adding to the labour force of the country thereby making US to loss the taxes that the deportated immigrant were paying to the country which I think will directly or indirectly have a significant negative impact to US economy.
So considering the role of immigrant to US labour force do you think that Trump deportation exercise of immigrant will have negative impact to US economy?

It can turn out to be good and it can turn out to be bad. I don't live there, the things I watch and hear are all presented by the media and I can't really say if what's reported is what is actually happening or there are some manipulation as usual. What people need to realize is that what is bad is bad and there is nothing good in coming to a country that has a law that put his citizens before anyone, I will do that for my country as well if I'm in his shows.

If you want to come to US, he didn't stop anyone. All he is asking is please follow a due process and ding jump through the fence but some people has stay in the US for 20 years without proper documentations. However, i also see some of his policies are too harsh, you can't send away someone that has paid tax for 20 years of his life away just like that, it doesn't look so well and there is probably going to be increased in the price of goods due to few left available people in farms.

The pros and cons of immigrants are the center of attention because not a few immigrants are finally able to improve their lives better, even being employed in large companies. On the other hand, local US citizens lose their place to get decent jobs. But it all comes back to productivity and quality where most companies prioritize skills. Well, this is where the competition between US citizens loses to the quality of immigrants, causing instability. Trump may take special action with official channels so that these immigrants can take care of their legality. Apart from the economic impact, I think there should still be comprehensive restrictions, especially for local governments that re-register their citizens by providing official population documents.

The point is, formal channels must be taken, considering that native US citizens must still be prioritized. This is just my personal opinion, and we who live outside the US when immigrants enter our country also feel uncomfortable because immigrants dominate the job sector that we should have as native citizens.

Removing illegal immigrants may be a temporary problem, but in the long run, it will definitely send a good message to them. Many illegal immigrants from different countries have been living in the United States for a long time. Although the Biden administration is flexible in their case, the Donald Trump administration does not want that. That is why during Trump's time in power, his government has already started working to return illegal immigrants from the United States.



I must agree with you that everyone who comes from different countries and is doing various kinds of crimes or innocents in the United States should leave. Through this, the country will be better for the people of the United States. The common people will be able to live better. In reality, the benefits are more than the disadvantages for the country.

No doubt, that could leave a short term effect but after that, US will be a better country for common Americans. Trump do not see this policy just for the present but definitely for a long term approach, for a long term goal. The US economy would only struggle at first, but in the long run its citizens will be the one to benefit. This may be hard for illegal immigrants who's been living in the US for quite long years but we all know this is the right thing to do to maintain peace and unity for the common welfare of the Americans.

There are potential chances the economy will be affected negatively if the country lacks labor force to replace the immigrants. That is, if native americans refuse to work on jobs spots which have been popular among immigrants.

On the other hand, it can be just a matter of a new arrangement, where supply and demand law will be applied, meaning such jobs spots are going to have less workforce, so the employers will have to raise the wages in order to awake interest from native americans for those jobs.

Only time will tell what the impacts of new Trump's policies are going to be over US economy. Everyone has their own theories about it, some pointing the bright and others the dark side of the policies. However, instead of adopting one theory or another, people should be paying attention to reality.

so there would still be positive growth, just marginal growth

but heres the thing, if illegal migrants cant work because they simply are not in the work place.. then legal migrants doing seasonal work visa's, will then have jobs so they will help the US and bring the marginal positive back into the average positive

to have a 7.4% shrinkage. would mean average GDP would need to be be 0% already with these illegal migrants to then go minus without them

Then out of 345 million who live there 340 million should leave because only about 5 million are actually American and belong there. The rest are all immigrants or more accurately are colonizers. You see, USA is not a country, it is a colony. They murdered almost all Americans in a genocide about 2 centuries ago when they established the colony.

So in a way it is absurd to talk about immigrants and kicking them out of the colony just because they got there later than the older colonists, whether they entered the colony legally or illegally is irrelevant considering majority of them aren't criminals nor do they commit crimes. They went there thinking it is still the "land of opportunity" where they can make some money and send it back home. In fact one of the reasons such people enter the colony illegally is because the older immigrants shut down the doors to the colony and prevented new immigrants from coming in!

The question for me is if there are skilled and unskilled laborers in America, that are willing to replace the undocumented immigrants Jobs? I think that deporting these illegal immigrants will favor the American workforce, they will get better renumeration because demand for workers will ncrease. The immigrants that are deported will create a vacuum which means scarcity, as demand becomes greater than supply companies will be willing to increase salaries to attract workers. If for whatever reasons the American citizens and documented immigrants are not willing to do the jobs that the these illegal immigrants were doing, it'll affect productivity in their country, which will affect their economy negatively.

It is unfortunate to say that not all American populists agree with this view and see only the glass half empty. The American economy is huge and needs an infinite number of workers to fill job vacancies in all sectors, especially sectors that Americans do not like to work in, such as mining workers, agricultural activities, and the construction sector. A large number of illegal immigrants work in these sectors and other parallel sectors. It is true that there are criminals among them, but this does not mean putting them all in one basket and throwing them into the sea.

I can't confirm whether or not the math ain't mathin', but that's theoretical. The truth of the matter is that such a scenario won't happen in reality. There won't be a deportation of 8.3 million undocumented immigrants in the workforce.

More than that, however, in the most unlikely event that it happens, I guess the US isn't that foolish that they would just deport productive yet undocumented aliens without thinking about replacements let alone the economic impact.

As I've mentioned, more than half of the people in the world dream of working in the US. If they're willing to risk being an illegal alien just to work there, they're much more than willing to comply with the necessary documents if the opportunity arises that they're asked to.

According to a report, there are more than 7 million undocumented people working in the US labor market. If he actually deports all of these people from the United States, it will certainly cause some disruption to the US economy due to labor shortages, but what's more frightening is that it will leave these people in a worse situation when they are deported back to their home countries. Not to mention, not only will the US labor market be negatively affected, but the economies of other countries will also be affected, because they will not have enough jobs for those who are deported.

It's safe to say that Trump's immigration policy will have more negative consequences than he thinks, but he probably doesn't care about that.
