Definitely many more people know about bitcoin now. I wonder what the true uptake is in %s. I think it varies by country, but I suspect that it is still a low percentage. :-)
Also depends on what people mean by uptake. Owning actual btc in a wallet with private keys? Or simply 'holding' BTC on Paypal or some other app where there is possibility to withdraw BTC or not, like in Paypal case and many other apps, you actually can't even withdraw any BTC.
But if we have loose definition of uptake then I think its high percentage.
Minus countries where majority people dont even have online banking, of course. But kids all have apps and Venmo and PP everywhere I almost can guarantee they have $10 in BTC too.
Hi,
Yeah, it could be. I'm thinking of all forms, but $10 is de minimus. When you get someone with $100k in their PPS (in the UK), IRA (in the US) etc, and put 4% into it, then I think it moves the needle. Not to mention professional managers. Not to mention the rest of the world. Certainly in some I guess time will tell. :-)
To me it seems like there are a lot of room if these stats are true:
India: Has the most Bitcoin users globally, with 75 million users, notes PlasBit
China: Has 38 million Bitcoin users, notes PlasBit
United States: Has 28 million Bitcoin users, notes PlasBit
Brazil: Has 25 million Bitcoin users
Indonesia: Has 23.5 million Bitcoin users
