Even when I lose, it pushes me to improve rather than simply shrugging it off as part of the fun

Well, gambling for fun can be refered to anything based on personal preference, because you can take gambling for fun when you earn from it or when you gamble with what you can afford to lose, sometimes some people usually take off the day stress off when they gamble and they see it as fun you know.
Sometimes you might get the best out of it but necessarily I think it shouldn't be a priority and it could be more than that to you besides some persons see it as a source of income so it could serve as alot.

If gambling is used as the main income, then gambling is entirely for winning and profit, regardless of whether it is fun or not. Unless, gambling is used as a means for entertainment and games and does not prioritize profit, then such gambling becomes gambling for fun. Because after all, gambling itself is basically a game to get profit but, over time with the habit of gambling, then gambling becomes a fun for them. For me personally, the definition of gambling for fun is when getting a win, and fun can be created.

I have a friend that says that gambling is his full-time work and I can testify to you that the guy is very much on the rough edge. He's not having much funds even to take care of himself and he's lucky he's dependent, else hunger would've not spared him. Luck will always be a determining factor whether you do lose or win up a particular bet or gambling game. It might that hard to believe but there are actually people who are really that able to make gambling as their main source but actually only a few could be able to do such thing, this is why most gamblers are thinking up on the same way on which if they can be able to do then why they can't? This would really be the primary thoughts that do come up into their mind and this is why they will really be that doing gambling and trying out to achieve on what others been doing and this is why they do bust up themselves because of such approach and this is really that indeed bad.

Everybody like profit, but there is difference when someone lives on the profit from gambling and when someone just want to get "easy money".

Sorry but I don't think one has to be a professional gambler to gamble for money or profit, any body, including those who actually have other things they do, like run a business or work in an office, but still spend still a part of their leisure time gambling, can actually be gambling for the profit and not for fun.

To gamble for fun is a choice every one makes for themselves, aside from the professional gamblers of course, since we know that gambling is what they do for a living and they can't afford to treat it like it's a fun venture, they and their family did go hungry 🤓

There are VERY FEW people on this planet capable of being professional gamblers.  There was a guy on Jeopardy who has one of the longest winning streaks ever, like top 3 of 5 or something like that.  He was from Chicago if memory serves me and naturally I wanted to follow along and root for him, but I'm pretty sure him and Alex (RIP to a GOAT) discussed gambling on the show where he goes in to good detail about how even for a highly skilled pro gambler, he loses his ass all the time.  He said you have to be able to take massive losses and just suck it up.

Yes, it should be like that, meaning that a gambler should consider that the money they bet is a tool to be exchanged for pleasure or entertainment which means that they will not have any thoughts of getting profit or it can also be said that the profit for them is the pleasure they get from the game they have played such as getting a sensation from the increase in dopamine levels they feel, I think that's how we should treat gambling, like entertainment in general such as going to the movies or going on vacation to a tourist spot in which situation don't we never think about getting profit in the form of money after the vacation? of course, and this is the approach that should be applied to gambling because it will never work to make gambling a place to earn income.

Yep, when you see gambling as a money generator, you will definitely miss the fun aspect in gambling. You will also lose big and you will see gambling as a scam ot evil because you didn't do it the right way. Gambling on games that you love will still make you have that funky feelings in you but your emotions will not make it last because you didn't make profit.
