This AI trend is taking over the world by storm. It's getting popular each day. People can now generate content well beyond their imagination.

I'm wondering if AI will pose a threat to Bitcoin in the future? I mean, if AI is able to code on its own, maybe it will make a coin superior to Bitcoin? Or maybe, Bitcoin can make use of AI for its own benefit.

AI can't just work out without the human knowledge and implementation, AI can't  override on the bitcoin network because they both stand for different things, the bitcoin node is made being transparent as well as the blockchain technology, being an open distributed ledger, miners confirm the transaction made and this is only done when it comply to the consensus protocols of the network, it cannot be manipulated or altered, while AI can have all these, the purpose for AI is quite different from that of bitcoin and they are both incomparable to each other, bitcoin is digital currency, AI could be a centralized program running, we can keep on having several more instances that differentiate them.

Yes, absolutely agree.

At the end of the day it is the people who are using Bitcoin what makes it useful.

Even if AI can create a better coin in certain ways, the Bitcoin devs can simply use those techniques and apply them to Bitcoin.

In reality I don't see any worry about AI for Bitcoin. I think it's just the current buzzword, and people are not sure what it can do and what it cannot do.

Bitcoin's strength lies in its decentralized network and the people that are behind it. It is all but impossible for a new technology to break the bitcoin protocol, because the most important and essential properties of BTC are already set in stone.

If a new coin comes in, AI might help with understanding and building infrastructure, but will be unable to replace humans to confirm and embed the trust-less and the permission-less properties of Bitcoin. Just my thoughts. Grin

do y'all think there is any real concern that AI will be able to hack bitcoin and/or bitcoin wallets?

Or that AI will be able to mine bitcoin better and faster than any other miners?

AI and bitcoin serve different purposes but they could work together. AI can optimize bitcoin mining, defect fraud, and improve blockchain scalability. A new AI driven cryptocurrency might emerge, but bitcoin's strong adoption and decentralized make it resilient.

Yeah, basically AI is a tool.

AI can be used to enhance Bitcoin in many ways, for example, as you say, you could use AI to trace transactions more efficiently, and therefore discover patterns that a human would never have seen before.

Or it could help an FPGA chip designer to create a better layout to obtain a more efficient miner design.

In the end, AI is just a tool. It can be used for whatever purposes the person wants to use it. It's not sentient (yet!  Grin)

It may be autonamous to some degree even now, but it wouldn't be smarter than the whole protocol, that's the gist of it.
It only follows what it was ordered to, and the man is still in charge of what we strive to achieve with said AI.

Yes, although there has been some recent advances in reasoning when adding Reinforced Learning that might be the initial point into which we see a difference in how AIs think. But that's a bit off-topic...

In the end, AI is still just a tool, but we don't know if this AI might want to obtain all the remaining Bitcoin to purchase the tools needed for their goals...

It's going to be, and is right now, an interesting time ahead...

AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Bitcoin are two important areas of modern technology.  Although they are separate subjects, when used together they can revolutionize the world of economics, investment and security.
AI alone won't destroy Bitcoin, but it could have a major impact on security and the market.  In particular, if artificial intelligence finds vulnerabilities in the blockchain, big problems can arise.  But due to Bitcoin's strong blockchain system, it is not easily hacked

Of course it's a tool. It can be used for Bitcoin's own benefit. But what if AI goes rogue (or becomes evil)? Then it could decide Bitcoin's fate in a microsecond. Assuming it succeeds. I doubt it will because Bitcoin is already too big to fail. Each day, it grows bigger and stronger than ever. So long as Bitcoin stays decentralized and censorship-resistant, nothing should be able to stand in its way.

I'm pretty sure developers are already working on countermeasures to help protect Bitcoin against both AI and Quantum Computing attacks. The code is open source, so anyone's free to improve Bitcoin however they like. Hopefully, BTC will outlast Fiat in the future.
