Laziness is a culprit to poverty no doubt but, We still have alot of people who work hard and they are still poor does it mean they are lazy? Most times is connection and most times isn't all about connection but getting the right information no one likes to be poor everyone is trying their possible best to get rid of poverty
We should be able to train ourselves to become self independent, hardworking, determined and positive towards our goals. These qualities possessed, does scares poverty away? I'm afraid not because it's nature for man to dig the ground for purpose to feed. Been lazy for the fact of not acquiring useful information to escape poverty. Laziness steps in when one have tried his best to beat the clock towards acquiring or placing his hands on huge sums, it can be something of great deal of value. You've made a good point. Poverty cause so many setbacks in a man's life. We can be anything in this world but don't ever settle for  poverty. It's outrageous to see the heavy damage poverty can cause on one.
There is no gain when we become too lazy to take care of our need. Most people that are born in a wealthy families are lazy and they do not understand what it means by trying to hustle your way to become financially independent. We ought to be strong and focus on our dreams because this is one of the ways we can get what we want and reach the level we want to reach. Poverty had made it looks like many people are not hand working because they have not gotten the opportunity that will change there life to better. Once opportunity meet preparation, everything will turn to better which is what many are looking for.
It is not as if people from wealthy family are lazy, they don't struggle much because good foundation have been laid for them, they came to see all they would want in life. You don't expect people like this to struggle much, whatever they think of going into they succeed because already the money is their to push it to any level, so I don't blame people who come from wealthy family if they so not hustle much. As for those who are poor and average financially, laziness should be a habit given a chance at all, just hustle until their is a better result.

We always say that stop giving them fish, instead teach them how to fish so they can get their for the remaining days.

But the untold truth is, we are asking 100 people to catch a fish where there's only 10 fish available so no matter what and how hard the remaining 90 people work they will never get any fish.

I can see people work 14 hours all day long still get paid in pennies which is nothing but the exploitation of their life, and government should make things right to lower the distance between rich and poor with right policies that just doesn't favour only the rich.

Those people that are working 24/7 all of their lives and still not moving an inch of their life status, I don't think they are lazy with their finances. They are uninformed and uneducated with finances and that's what they need to learn. But it makes sense and maybe they are lazy to spend time learning more about it so that they can save themselves and make a good living out of that knowledge and on how they manage their finances based on what they have known.

We always say that stop giving them fish, instead teach them how to fish so they can get their for the remaining days.
That's actually right, giving them a fishing rod instead of giving them the actual fish so that they'll learn strategies on how to catch one and more.

There is a proverbs that say poverty is a disease, You can eliminate poverty with money because money is the cure for the disease. If you look at the causes of poverty today, you go discover that laziness is among the things that is causing poverty in the society, because some don't want to learn skills that will be bringing money into their account because they are comfortable of doing nothing in the society.

There are some that have people who can help them to get good job in a particular organization, but they want the person to provide everything available before they can accept the job.

I do not believe laziness is the cause of poverty. Haven't you all seen or heard of cases where someone becomes rich suddenly just because a treasure was found on his piece of land? He didn't work hard for it; the opportunity just presented itself to him, and he grabbed it. There are many similar stories like this.

I have also seen very hardworking and intelligent people who are still struggling with their finances. What did they do wrong that they do not seem to get rich no matter how much they try? The simple reason is that the right opportunity has not come or that they lost their opportunity to become rich.

All we need is that opportunity. Once it comes and you are ready to grab it, you are already on the path to wealth. Many are poor because they missed opportunities.

If you want to be rich, equip yourself with the right knowledge, skills, and certifications. Recognize opportunities and grab them.

Don't you realize that poverty is in fact born from laziness, maybe I won't explain how lazy it is and what lazy looks like because it is generally understood.
But I see that laziness can have a far worse impact than what we can imagine on our finances, even for someone who has privilege.

Okay maybe someone is not lazy at work, doing 24/7 workers but he is lazy to learn finances, lazy to manage finances so that even though someone has a good income but does not

@op you widened your definition of laziness to not only mean unwillingness to do work but also the unwillingness to learn and to keep learning other aspects of life like financial management.
On that it makes sense because a lay meaning of laziness would be lack of effort to do physical activity of which poor countries are experts.
With your widened view of laziness, inability to advance one's skill even as the person is doing it already is also another form of laziness that can keep someone stuck

We have read in books that the lazier a nation is, the more poverty it has. Many people know how true this is, but apart from laziness, there may be other factors that contribute greatly to keeping a nation in poverty. A country can live below the poverty line due to lack of education, geographical environment and location, various disadvantages faced by citizens, reduced agricultural production capacity, the effects of war, etc. Moreover, if a country does not have sufficient technological and scientific innovations, then it will never be possible to achieve economic and social development in that country. A nation deprived of the benefits of technology can never develop.
