A Christian listening to worldly music

People can listen to whatever music they want, it doesn’t you any more or less of a good person based on music tastes. Obviously some urban style music has levels of misogyny but it’s only music. As long as you are a good person & treat everybody well then you can listen to whatever style music you want.

Music is just an act it doesn't have anything to do with one's spirituality, even if you are bad and Godly music is your kind of music it doesn't mean it doesn't mean because you like Godly music you are now a good person.  Listen to music doesn't determine who people are , I don't see anything if people to decides to choose the kind of music they want. So far as listening to any music makes one to be happy,  this is all that matters.

Wise people say. Enjoy your life yourself. We are social animals. So the words spoken by our neighbors sometimes hurt us. That is why we always keep changing ourselves. But for how long? The creator has made us different people. He has given us different tastes, smells, physical structures. Because of all these reasons, we are different from each other. So even if you want to, you will not be able to win the hearts of all your neighbors. So, leave the words of your neighbors and try to live according to your own mind and enjoy your own life.

But I do not mean that you treat your neighbors badly. People are known for impressing others with their good behavior.

If the good behavior doesn't include faith in Jesus, it is useless and won't be considered good behavior by God in the Judgment.

Everybody is different, but everybody is similar enough that they all need air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, and shelter from the elements.

Avoid being tempted away from believing in Jesus-God... a thing that listening to worldly music can do.

Well, you are right @letteredhub. The fact that we have many meaningless hip-hop songs nowadays shouldn't make us classify all hip-hop songs as ungodly but the main problem here is that the meaningful ones are less when compare to the meaningless ones. And most of our youths are highly attach to this meaningless ones than the meaningful ones. There are some songs that shouldn't have been produced to the public as it promote immoral and indiscipline. The funniest thing is that musics has no control like drama which they may place caution for some certain age.

No song is meaningless, you might be thinking what the person is singing does not have meaning but some are using it for chairing up, however we have gospel songs of God and so many others that may not have anything relation to God but that does not make it bad songs or meaningless because if we feel that a lot of those songs are meaningless are those wealthy people who might be listening to it an unreasonable person?, actually there is how hip pop is, if you don't listen very attentively you might not even hear what they are single because they are always singing as if they are rapping.

The concept of a Christian listening to worldly music varies.
First we must understand, (Who is a Christian)
From the word of the creator of the universe, Christians were natural men whose thought, words, attitude actions values and lifestyle is reflecting that of the son the creator of the universe. (JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH)

Secondly, (What kind of music is worldly)? From my belief, it's a music that it lyrics does not edify.
When a music promotes immorality, violence, or anything contrary to biblical values, this means it may not be beneficial for a Christian.
When a music encourages sinful behavior or draws you toward a lifestyle that doesn’t honor the creator of the universe, it could have a negative impact on your belief.

Because Music has a strong influence on the mind, emotions and thoughts. So if certain musics lead to negative thoughts or temptations, my thought is that they might be best avoided.

There are songs that are meaningless, and by meaningless we literally mean songs which lyrics adds no substantive value to the society. People just listen for listening sake, perhaps it could be that the hip-hop song has some good beats which people can just dance to the beats and nothing more. It doesn't majorly has to be said to be a religious song or not but it's just without meaning to ponder on.

I'm not actually, because you are entitled to what you believe is true no matter the different thoughts of another about it, however I wasn't throwing my emphasis about it on the importance or what is teaching in the society, my direction to it was on the pleasure basis, so if you said some songs are meaningless because is not saying anything about the society people should no or learn then you are right because a lot of them doesn't talk about society but however a song cannot be sang without inspiration, so something must be the inspiration of the singer and it can be considered as a meaningful to him in respect to what activated it.

Listening to worldly music is not a crime neither is it a sin and again listening to gospel songs doesn't make one righteous though sometimes it makes one think beyond the natural and sometimes there can be revelation from there while on the other hand listening to worldly music can also make one think worldly that is if the person centered his or her mind and thought there but one thing I know is that there is time for everything and faith is in the heart.

Why would it be wrong only for a Christian to listen to depraved music? Even if it's wrong for Christian, it's wrong for everyone else as well.

Personally, I have the perception depraved music syntonizes my inner universe to emptiness. It feels like creativity, inspiration, insight, peace of mind and spirit go away, so I that isn't the kind of product I consume.

On the other hand, melodious and harmonic music have a totally opposite effect over me. It's good when you are listen to a tune which makes you inspired and motivated, even regards small details and ideas.

If you don't have that kind of perception, probably it's not wrong for you yet, but if at some point you feel like that kind of music doesn't fill your spirit, maybe it's a good opportunity to seek for another styles.

I don't understand, if a Christian doesn't listen to worldly music, is it music that is out of the world that he will listen to. Hence your part of this world, your within the bounds to listen to music within this world regardless if it is Reggae, Afrobeat, R/B, Blues, Gospel Reggae, country classics and every genre of music.

However I know the Bible said in Romans 12:2, "do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, then you will see and prove what God can do". This portion of the Bible was emphasizing on living the righteous life, so they believe some of those music are not in conformity with the righteousness that God wants, probably because of the kind of content and choice of words in those music, So maybe that's the angle your neighbour's are coming from.

They are not the same, are wizkid, Chris Brown and Davido not Christians? is just the society we found ourselves people are quick to judge others without logical reasons. Even in church today the choirs dressing naked in the house of God, showing their breast and body on the alter signing .yet they are not concerned about them, but you that listing to song that lift your soul is their problem. I play any songs i feel like to listen to, because it wont stop me from glorifying God.

the gospel artist believes like the circular artists in today world, they charge to perform in church with high charge, so there is nothing there singing they are after making money just like the Wizkid and others.
