I don't know what you mean by worldly music. Maybe they are song that are not religious. I don't really pay attention to how religious a song or the artist is, I am interested in the message. I can listen to song from any artist if I like the message it is conveying.

Anyway, the most corrupt people in my country are not in night clubs but in religious gatherings.

I think it's wrong but it's hard to resist with that when you're a music lover. But you have to fight for it and try your best in avoiding in hearing to worldly music. Well, this is just my opinion and you should have a conviction if you want to live holy. I'm not speaking for myself but just an opinion if you think it's wrong then it's wrong. While we're not perfect but you should try your best in following the Word and the teachings that are being preached to you and to your church.

I'm so happy hear this today, living to impress people it really a problem people just live with because they are so mindful of what people would say about them. Life is just one and life is so short, it is so good to live life abundantly and do what makes you happy. Sometimes when we think about our past, we feel so sad because we live to please people.

Music is beyond religion and it has a lot to do for the human body. Sometimes music can serves as a message , and the melody in music can also heal one emotionally. Music can also help to encourage one about life challenge.  There is more in music, and it must not just be all about religion.

You have the right to listen to whatever music you like and if so done in your church belittles you or your local priest belittles your because of things you like (and do not harm anyone) then I am afraid you may be getting into some kind of cult, rather than a regular church.
Keep this in mind: in the bible Christians are taught not to judge others, since they will be judged in the same way when the last judgment come upon earth, so a good Christian would not judge you based on the music you like.
Also, The bible teaches us that both and angles were created to have free will, so you have the free will to listen to music to like, besides of the religious music you listen to during your church meetings.
Just adhere to your religion, but also exercise your personal freedom and be happy with what you like.

It's not so much the listening to music. Rather, Jesus tells us that we can have whatever we ask for. And ungodly music drives us into an ungodly mode. It drives us into asking for evil things that God doesn't want us to have. So, we get the evil in our lives rather than the good that God promises to all those who love God.

Don't go crying back to God that He isn't living up to his promises in your life. Rather, get into godliness throughout your whole life so that you get godly blessings.

If music is instrumental, it may not be Christian or non-Christian and have nothing or everything to do with Christian faith for the listener.

Nobody knows if spiritual music is faith music. There are a lot of spiritual songs that might be against the Christian faith.

The best is to find spiritual songs that speak the Bible in a salvation way, and forget the rest of them except some instrumentals.

Don't allow hypocrites to make you not to enjoy your life. Life is short and should be enjoyed with all the beautiful things around us including good music. There are church people who listen to only gospel songs but their attitude and relationship with their fellows isn't anything that depicts Christ in their life.

I love listening to good music be it secular music or gospel, provided the lyrics are anything good to my listening pleasure and with no swear or dehumanising words. Op, learn to not be caged in other people's thoughts.

Sounds like this is not so much about christianity but more about what your neighbor thinks of you. I honestly don't keep up what different Christian factions are "allowed" to do, but if you want to live in this faith, shouldn't you ask about rules of your faith from your priest? It's more practical then trying to interpret what your neighbor might think without asking them.

You could always talk directly with your neighbor if you are bothered by this, but i would rather live like i wanted and don't care if my neighbor judges me for it or not.

As long as the music you listen to has nothing to do with blaspheming Jesus and Christian teachings, I think there is nothing wrong with listening to such music. Isn't it a human thing to listen to music other than spiritual songs? Life is too boring if we continue to focus on what other people say about the songs we listen to, so just listen to what you want to listen to. Even pastors or priests often listen to pop, rock, or other genres of music, because they feel that as long as it does not contain elements of blasphemy, and does not violate the provisions of the Bible, then it is okay.

The mentality of people in terms of religious is what is making it look scary at times, how can someone listen to music and somebody will be looking at him or her as someone who is worshiping devil it self. So actually if you have been listening to songs after church you are not doing a bad thing so don't beat yourself too much because is your neighbor who has problem with songs and decided to put it that way so that you will have a reason why you should stop playing the songs, if people who listen to those songs are evil that means in my country everybody will be worshipping the devil because that's one of the favorite songs.

I'm a Christian and I listen to gospel music including secular music, it depends on what I feel like listening to at anytime. We have many holier than thou christians, they want to judge fellow christians with every opportunity that they get, meanwhile they do a lot of bad things in secret. I know that there is maturity in Christianity, there's a level that you'll get to and you'll start to select the kinds of music that you listen to, the lyrics of some songs will not be appealing to you anymore. However my problem with some christians is that if it's not gospel music that means that you're derailing but the truth is that there are secular songs that have meaningful lyrics that christians can vibe to.

I know there are some circular music that I wouldn't advice a Christian to listen to because the lyrics are erotic. As a Christian and you listen to a music that puts you in an uncomfortable position sexually then it's not okay. As a Christian you are supposed to embody Christ, your neighbors look at you because you say you are a Christian yet the music you are listening to is wordly music so they are looking up to you not that you should live your life in a way that pleases them but there are certain expectations they have for you like you should be more of Godly music. And even if it is not Godly the lyrics should not be one that someone will hear and they might travel to a negative realm.

To me listening to wordly music can depend on the type of lyrics or type of singer, you know there are some singers that they are not singing Christian song but they are not necessarily singing a very bad song they are just maybe talking about life or love and the lyrics are not so terrible or sexual. but there are some circular music that are just off the chat that's how I see it but it depend on the kind of music you were actually listening to and how often you listen to it compared to how you listen to Christian music.

Though, the real problem is the interpretation some people give to the words of some religious leaders and the actions which are forbidden by them addicting to the own interpretation of the Bible. For example, there will be songs which do not directly talk about blasphemy or to go against God or Christ, however they explicitly talk about murder, drugs, vanity, anger and even prostitution, which are completely contrary to any Orthodox Christian church would teach to their members. That is music which is likely to be tagged as unsuitable for anyone in the church to listen to.

I have noticed there is some kind of stigma on some rock and metal songs which do not talk about anything religious, but just because the time of the instruments, those songs are shifty catalogued as evil by many nominations of churches around the world.

One thing that I love about Christainity is that, it gives you freedom to do whatever you want, as long as you don't offend God. If listening to worldly music is cool with you, and it doesn't cause you to sin then you are free to listen to it. However, if it does lead you to sin, you are to stop it. I listen to worldly music because some are inspirational and sends a message.

Remember what ever you do in life weather good or bad people must talk. When someone is a spiritually filled Christian(a born-again), they are advised to desist from listening to worldly music so that their mind will not be corrupted. But when you are not a spiritually filled-up Christian, you live your life the way you like; you are free to listen to worldly music as you like; nobody has to question that.

Remember, being a Christian or not, doesn't take one to heaven. It's your character and how you love and treat your neighbor will take you to heaven. Those who listen to worldly music may have a better character than those who claim to be righteous, not listening to worldly music. Don't let anyone pressure you to live your life because those who claim to be true Christians may have hidden characters that you will feel terrible about.
