It's possible that the gambler is on need loss rather than profits, yet her possibly have got some huge money at once and if he's wide enough, he might consider investing this money into something tangible rather than into same gambling that brought it. Loses are not celebrated, rather wins are and that's what we see everyday.

It is good that you dont accept anything at face value specially on the internet. But casinos make sure to publicize big wins which happen once a blue moon because of the added advertisement it makes. Essentially 1 person winning 100$ and dragging in 100 more people losing 10$ each is a profit for the casino.

Such winnings are possible if luck is on your side. But such win is not always seen. those who win so big are very lucky indeed.  But I think those who win like that have previously lost many small bets which add up to a very large amount.
