Great idea but that will be too risky since everyone sees AI in a different way. How well do you think people will judge others to believe they didn't copy and pass what the AI gave them?

The number 3 is actually interesting and I believe that would be more likely to be accepted than the rest. Since the summary is coming from the book the AI only helps you to compile them to suit the argument you're in. This can work.

My thoughts on AI on the forum: It should be viewed as plagiarism; if you must generate a topic with AI, you must also provide the AI source, but don't quote human replies with chatbot texts; they stink, especially on the gambling board.

Bro, AI often provides a lot of incorrect data and it's response sucks sometimes. I believe I saw a post from one of my local which was probably generated by AI. I guess the thread was about how to maintain your wallet or something, that guy came up with a post and I laughed a lot reading that. He suggested people wash their wallets with detergent powders or something like that. I could not recall exactly, but I laughed a lot. Someone posted that on hall of shame thread and I had a good laugh. That is just an example that sometimes AI cannot give you an accurate answer if it cannot understand what exactly you are looking for.

Most of it is not my area of expertise except for one where I asked my son and he says it's utter bullshit. And that kinda aligns with my own experience in how these "solutions" are presented in a highly misleading and somewhat-legit-sounding-to-a-non-expert way, with some actual facts mixed in. For example, one of the articles mentions customer support chat bots. I've yet to see one of those bots to solve an actual problem. All they do is what we used to call "wizards" where you click your way through a workflow. Now with some extra words added on. And there is plenty of stories out there about those bots hallucinating and businesses then denying whatever the bot said if they don't like it.

Having said that, AI tools in the hands of professionals of certain fields can do great things. It's when we start believing the corporate bullshit that AI makes everyone an expert or can replace an actual human job, we are going to get screwed. I think they have painted themselves into a corner with the massive investments - now they have to sell it to everyone. Cart before horse and all that.

Of course, I hardly use search engines like google anymore. I had to do my part, though, as it first gave me some sources that I did not consider of quality, like wikipedia, and I refined the search a couple of times, apart from selecting from what it gave me. As the articles are already linked, I considered it totally unnecessary to put that I had found them using chatGPT in the same way that nobody puts in a link: “searched with google.com”.

If the forum wants to restrict new tools, how about restricting any connection faster than 33.6kb/sec?   It would certainly cut down on all the garbage posts from people who only post for the money!  We wouldn't need to be confused if a person was taking a few hours a day to discuss bitcoin, or to spam a new casino!

Seriously though, the forum turning its back to AI the way it did to mobile web, they are just driving serious members (who want to use AI to deal with an increasingly complex subject) elsewhere.

Nobody is doing that though. The problem is when people use it to crank out shitposts in rapid succession. Nobody has ever shamed anyone here for using AI to do something creative or cool.* If they have, let's see it.

As I've stated numerous times in numerous threads, its fine to use Grok or ChatGPT or whatever to summarize information, just put it in quotes so you're not misrepresenting yourself. Its the same deal with copy/pasting text from anywhere else on the internet. We shouldn't change this policy just because "AI is the future."

He did not laugh at technology, he laughed at a particular instance (which is very laughable) to prove that you need analytical abilities first to check the authentic use of AI.

What i mean is that if a thread is created by an AI and the OP provides the source of the AI generated contents, those who will make replies on those threads will also have to get their texts from the AI. I think if it is done that way, it can be considered but yet should not be excessive.

I am someone who believes in adapting to technology as it advances. I do not see the use of AI in the forum as something that should be forbidden or considered too sacred. I have even shared my thoughts before about the use of AI in the forum in my post Using AI to Our Advantage in the Forum.. However, if we are going to encourage the use of AI in the forum, we should also be careful not to breed tons of lazy posters with zero originality.

Exactly why I emphasised the usage on the other thread- AI in the hands of an illiterate will cause mayhem, but we can't dispute that it has done more good than bad since it was invented, and we're still in the early stages - just imagine 10 years from now.

I think someone needs to visit China - There are automated malls with no human workers and only AI in China; these used to be jobs for humans. Not only that, but drivers, customer service representatives, and graphic designers are already losing their jobs to AI, and in the next 10 years, there will be no jobs for human professionals in these fields.

Some of the biggest companies lay off human workers for AI last year and more are planing on going fully on 50% humans, 50% AI this year

Adapting to technology do not mean we should be communicating with an AI that is 10X smarter than human reasoning even though they were programmed by same humans. Some of these things that are not allowed is what makes the bitcointalk forum stand out among other forums because if some of them were to be allowed, there won't be any difference between the forum and social media platforms.
