What's the cringiest crypto project you've head about?

i don't have any names in my head, but i'm sure there are a lot of useless tokens out there that are intentionally launched with no purpose other than to collect people's funds and then disappear. these tokens have no underlying, are very volatile, and are based solely on speculation. but even so, people still buy these tokens in the hope that they can get high returns from it.. and unfortunately 99% of tokens like this usually end up being scams and cause big losses to their buyers.

I'm writing the article about ICO era and cringe it has brought in our world. What's the cringiest crypto project you've head about?

I think the strangest project I have heard about was one called Cum rocket, it was supposed to be a platform for people to access adult content in a decentralized and anonymous way, and also a network for models to sell their pictures in exchange for the coin, which had a float value according to the supply and demand of the market.
I even remember a friend of mine who was considering to invest in the project, without having much of of an idea of what it was about or the target audience of it.

I also remember some tokens within the Ethereum network which were basically shitcoins and intended to be as inflammatory as possible. One of the most obvious examples were a token called N*GGER, which circulated and was mostly advertised as a joke on 4chan, specially in their /biz/ board. 

Needless to say, I stayed pretty much way from those coins, which in my opinion were destined to fail economically.

Well there is alot of meme coins that I do not think I will ever want to invest my fiat in. Some of most cringiest t meme coin tokens are Unicorn Fart Dust, Just a Chill Guy, Retardio, and Crow with Knife.
I do think if you invest in any of them you will lose your investment. I do not know why a investor will risk his capital on these. If he wants to make profit only invest in projects that we know will not be a 'rug pull'.

Usually, the more strange and unusual the name of the meme coin is, the more profit people hope to make. But these are just dreams, the reality is different.

There are a lot of new meme coins now, but almost all of them earn on HYPE and have temporary popularity, which largely depends on advertising and promotion. Good marketing makes a lot

It seems to me that the most terrible are the hacking of exchanges. Imagine how much money people have lost due to hacking or bankruptcy of exchanges and they still can't get their money back.

Well yes you are right about this. The new investors do think if it does have names like these they will make fast profit. But they must learn it is not going to go like that. We can make real profit from meme coins like Doge and Shib.

We really can't, I do not think so. I agree with the first part, we are not going to make money from these stuff, you are not going to get anything out of this, and you shouldn't be hoping for more later on neither, you need to just make sure that you are dealing with something that will take a while but it has to be something that won't be a big deal, because memecoins are just terrible.

But this one is also including shiba, doge and others as well because all of them are bad, it could be unusual name and weird ones, it could be doge the biggest one, none of them look good to me and I am pretty sure that we are going to end up losing money on all of them as well. We shouldn't really be making money off this situation.

It seems to me that the most terrible are the hacking of exchanges. Imagine how much money people have lost due to hacking or bankruptcy of exchanges and they still can't get their money back. 

The big difference between the hacking of exchanges and the fraudulent ICO of coins is the different mentality people have when comes to exchanges and ICOs.
There are people who deposit and keep their money in exchanges as if they were banks, and usually use stable coins to do so, in that sense, those holders are not seeking for speculations or excessive risks, in order to turn it all into a profit. It is completely different with ICOs and useless tokens, those who participate and buy those just see the potencial profits they could have in the future and do not pay attention to the use case of the token/project and whether there is actually enough liquidity to support the market of the token in the long term.
