This same topic gets discussed over and over again on this thread.  As a financial advisor I'll provide a quick overview of how one should be gambling. 

First off you must ask yourself.."am I on track to meet my retirement goal".  If the answer is yes, then how much money do you have left each month after contributing to your retirement, making sure all debt is paid off etc.  Only once this becomes the case, should anyone be gambling period.  Take a set amount each month that you can use to gamble.  Don't go over that.  Simple as that.

We can avoid gambling irresponsibly if we begin gambling responsibly. Honestly, getting out of being irresponsible when already there is difficult. Gambling is all about controlling ourselves and should be done at the very beginning rather than after committing such a thing.

You have a point there. At first when I heard you say talk to someone, I think it was more like going to the therapist or something like that but nope, it’s not really having to go to the therapist and of course, having to say something to someone could have therapeutic ends.
Having to talk to someone releases stress and also, you really gets to bring out yourself the way you see yourself before that someone tells you just what it is and possible ways to contain it.

None of these advice will work if that person is addicted to gambling. Do you think they don’t know all these already? They know it all. They just can’t stop doing it anyway because it is a health issue. Telling an addict to have control is like telling a mental patient to be cool. It just won’t work. Unless he gets professional help he will never recover and even the professionals fail to fix these people sometimes. Some of them don’t even acknowledge their problem. They think they are fine.

Totally agree, because advising someone that is already addicted to gambling to stop or take break would be very difficult for them to understand. To be honest there's no amount of advice that would stop an addicted person from gambling, the best is when they decide by themselves, no matter what you do they would still going to chase after their losses. Because they always have this feeling that they most surely make it through gambling.

Don't schedule anything or plan to meet any expenses with the money won out of gambling. There are people who used to meet end needs out of gambling. This used to be successful, and at times things won't work. We'll understand our position in gambling. Our mind needs to be ready to accept and make alternative decisions to be on the better side. This means most of the people never accept they're getting into addiction, which makes things hard to get out of gambling addiction. When the mind is ready to accept, continuous practice will make you get out of addiction.

Everyone already knows about this, keeping to to it is where the problem lies. But I think that all of them can learned, happening over the course of the person  in the  most active periods during the time when keeps to to it and.

That list was already known to most of us, but sometimes we fail to follow it, leading to irresponsible gambling. I guess every gambler is different - some learn from others' mistakes (they're pretty smart), while others learn the hard way from their own experience.

Basically, it's all about following the rules. If we stick to them, we're safe and can truly enjoy gambling. The good news is that the answer is just around the corner, but sometimes we let our emotions take over, which makes us greedy.

So despite knowing the answer, if our mind and emotion will not coordinate, we won't be able to make it work.

Most of what you listed  are meant to be practiced and followed to prevent not solve it,
It's not easy to set a limit when you're already addicted and gambling irresponsibly, it can still be done though buy it will require had reset  
I see you mentioned "Remove the mindset that gambling will make you rich overnight" instead I will rephrase it as
"Remove the mindset that gambling will make you rich" , if it does make you rich then fine .
Instead, try to take break ( it's not easy but you can control it) whenever you find yourself gambling irresponsibly and seek help just as OG mentioned

yeah, these tips are all helpful to become a responsible gambler but the biggest problem with this is a lot of gamblers don't think, realize or sometimes even gaslight themselves that they are not gambling irresponsibly. I've seen a lot of gamblers make stupid and irrational reasons just so they could gamble.

I agree with point D. Never use your savings just to gamble because it will have a bad impact on our survival or maybe more precisely will be mentally disturbed if it is not able to be forgotten as soon as possible.

I have seen many people who become poor faster because they cannot control their emotions and are irresponsible in gambling. Most of them use borrowed money to gamble and when defeat comes to them then they will think how else can I get money to gamble.

Online gambling addiction is not easy to stop because you will gamble again when you have money, gamble anywhere and that is not a good thing to do. For me, stopping completely is difficult but slowly we get used to being negligent with new things that can make our minds forget the desire to gamble.

Most of the people who are gambling irresponsibly, if you check them very well, some of them actually do have a lay-down budget for gambling, but their problem is they are not disciplined enough to keep to that budget, and aside from that discipline, they are victims to their own emotions.

Interestingly and ironically what most gamblers do when they find themselves having trouble with addiction and irresponsible gambling is to hide what is going on from their loved ones, so they can continue to partake in gambling and chase losses.
I have noticed as a pattern, those who are pretty much deep into to gambling are also relatively lonely people with little to no contact with others about their feelings and their problems.

The best thing to do when we are facing problems of any kind would be to talk about it with our friends and family, those who would not judge us over gambling and offer some intervention, otherwise, we would only continue to chase losess to the infinity and beyond, accumulating debt and in the worst case scenario, allowing our mental state to push us into committing crimes, as it has been archived in many cases.

What makes people gets addicted quickly is greed of chasing a particular amount of money from gambling, maybe this could be that they heard a news about someone winning big amount you would see them doing same by giving themselves additional task to make sure they have same luck as that person they had about. Gambling is something that doesn't need to compare someone else with you but it should be that you are gambling for fun and even though you had something at the back of your heart it shouldn't be that there must be winning at all cost.

Discipline is hard to practice, easier to say. Oftentimes someone who starts off as being disciplined ends up being undisciplined because it is very easy to lose the discipline you have, especially when your emotions have been troubled.

The worst thing is that when they gets out of line they wouldn't know what how they are gradually moving out of line, most people may decides to continue gambling even if they have disciplined themselves but because they have incurred several losses they wouldn't want to follow their guidelines or how they already map out their budget Instead would be controlled by emotions. Yes, emotions affects us so much in a way we can't be able to stand on our decision towards gambling because of loses such person has incurred.

I think most people gamble thinking that they will be able to get rich quickly or in just one night, this is a mindset that can lead them to misery, and yes if this mindset is embedded in them then discipline or limits are things that will not be present they will only focus on themselves who must pursue victory and get victory, When in this state they can ignore other things around them.

I am more focused on the third point that we must eliminate the mindset that we will be able to get rich in the near future or just overnight, although there is a chance that it can happen but it is very unlikely. Moreover, the casino will not give away victory just like that, especially with a large amount.

Avoid the temptation , work out other means to sought for that money  not gambling. You're not in control of what your bet outcome might turn to be. You stand a huge chance of losing it all than you would double.

There are many gamblers who only think about money and somehow they must be able to make profit to add to their income to meet their living needs, but in reality they actually make it difficult for themselves by using money that should be enough for food and other needs, this is an approach that I think is very bad.
It is difficult to change or eliminate such thoughts and goals, especially for those with lower middle class economies, then victory becomes the main priority that will continue to be pursued even though they have experienced many lost.

You wont really be having any issues if you are really just that responsible towards your actions and not really just that making yourself that spending up like a mad man specially on dealing up with gambling. You will really be that literally putting up yourself on such bad situation if you will be that careless on spending up on which knowing that we wont really be able to easily stop ourselves at the moment or time that you do become addicted with it. This is why you should really be that careful into this aspect.
At the time that you found yourself being that already spending into the amount on which you cant afford to lose, then this is the time that you should be that considering that you should refrain or completely stop on what you are currently doing and focus into other things instead. When you arent that mindful about such manner then you are that likely ending up on being broke.

Having limitation is a must thing in gambling so you can prevent the big lose that can happen anytime. These limitation will not just for the funds to playing gambling but also the time you will use to playing gambling.

Discipline is the thing that make you know when you must stop gambling and leave the casino. If you can stick to that, you will not playing gambling excessively because you know that will waste your funds.

While you playing gambling, you will not think that gambling is a way to get rich but you will only see gambling is for have fun. You will allocate some funds for playing gambling while you can keep the other money for the other necessary thing including your daily needs.
