Many a time, I've always insisted on the fact that most of the information we have online have a huge majority of them wrong with just a very few right. In simple terms we actually have more wrong information on the internet these days than the right ones. And the alarming thing about it is that the wrong ones are basically far more easier to access. This is the reason why many persons can't really vividly capture properly the details concerning the security of their coins.

Long story short, I got a little bored while surfing on my mobile and I decided to hit up something quite interesting on Google, and below were the results;

Now most newbies would rush into believing these without proper research. I see most of these results as ads basically come to think of it, a single open source wallet didn't pop up as part of the top 10 results.

Seem that Google have a problem with providing a valid result for searches that is concerning Bitcoin wallets alone. People, especially newbies should be well informed that the standard things are not gotten easily, just like coinbase which is closed source being the first to pop out during your search, this is also because the company does a high level of SEO which places it at top spot of search and I doubt Electrum, Sparrow and Blue wallet providers have such time to initiate such marketing prospects for their open source wallets.

The Internet has been seen as a dependent source of information, with people trusting the first search results as the most accurate, this leads most to mistakes. You guys need to learn how search engines, especially Google, work. The results that we see aren't based on ratings by people or research done by specialists about the topic we are using for the search, but the results are based on SEO optimizations of those pages and websites. Have you ever heard about SEO backlinks and keywords and how websites use them to rank themselves higher in Google search results?

So, it's all the game of doing SEO and getting your website and your web pages ranked high in search engine results, and that is how they generate traffic and possibly get more customers.

It's true that someone who doesn't know how these searches work might think they are getting the best possible results about that thing, but that isn't always necessary because these results aren't based on best to worst, but they are based on strongest to weakest SEO optimizations.

What I have found about the use of AI for search queries is that unlike Google, the person can proble further and will eventually have the right information. And there are prompts that instructs AI to sift the incorrect information and to provide only the accurate and up to date information with the sources.

Oh, mine...If that is what surprises you, I've seen the worst online, there is too much misinformation one way or another, especially if you didn't search correctly. The best online could be made to look worse and the worst could be made to look like the best, it's a social media era where AI does it (good or bad) and paid adverts and SEO are pushing the information upwards even if they are the lowest relevant. I recommend more manual research than relying on automatic suggestions.

This is why it is incredibly important for people to know how to find information and analyze not only the information being shared but as well as the source. Some people may be too lazy for this and ultimately this is what will get them in trouble.

These questions may be more subjective to be honest. I always find the discussion of “best x” should be personalized because it all depends on ourselves which ones are the “best” for us. That's why you need to be careful in searching for something on the internet because now there is a lot of misleading information if it can't be verified properly. Even the Google system once had an error regarding the price of USDT and the exchange rate with my country's currency had experienced a significant decrease in the value of USDT and from the search I got, the Google system had a problem so that the price changed from the original price.

That's not to mention the level of truth of other information that certain people try to manipulate and that's why valid information is needed before someone decides to believe it. I'm pretty sure that only a small percentage of new users will go for a more detailed search. At the same time, they should find and understand information such as what secure wallets are. Even now, many users on the forum use the exchange wallet as their default, and here they are considered crypto-educated.

Internet has a lot of wrong information making it hard to find correct and trustworthy information. It is worrying that wrong information is mostly easier to find than correct information. This is especially serious when it comes to important topics like keeping cryptocurrencies safe. What happened when you searched on Google is great example of this problem. That is why we shouldn't rely on research AIs and Google answers when looking for legit and accurate informations. Google, for an example, just reproduces what a website says about its own services, as we can see regards Coinbase. AIs are also pretty inconsistent on this matter.

Right... anything about bitcoin or bitcoin wallets is better to search on the bitcointalk forum because it is more credible than doing a google search more misinformation.
I have never used any of the bitcoin wallets on the OP list except Binance which I have stored there.

One shouldn't depend on one source of information when doing research. Google serves as a middleman between advertisers and prospective clients. Information in this search engine is not verified, so it will be easy to see false information. It wouldn't take so much time to check multiple sources to verify the news. It takes more time to try to retrieve scammed funds than to study enough to avoid it. One of my major sources of crypto-related information is this forum. The forum has a very rich library and experienced members that will be helpful. A members will always identify and dispel any wrong information in a discussion..

Exactly, this is alarming. Like is there any way to report these? I think this is also when using Google itself like their algorithm in how their search engine works.
Another alarming is these search results sometimes give you some links to scams or hacks, like some websites where when you will connect your wallet or some asking for your seed phrases and will drain your wallet.

If you use search engines, you must know that their search results can be biased by advertisements from other companies. Google search is biased like this and your search result shows this fact.

Let's De-Google and use other search engines but also you have to always checking results further.
