Unfortunately, our bodies have adapted to work, work work, and then relaxing on social media till we are completely exhausted and have to doze off till the next day when we have to repeat the routine again and again.

That's one of the biggest lies that we're told, that watching constantly changing feed of information, like when you watch short clips on youtube, is a form of relaxing yourself, a way to gain energy before another long day. In reality it just takes your mind off chores and the real world, but it exhausts you just as doing those chores would. The difference is, if you go play a computer game, you will feel tired afterwards and the chores will still be there waiting for you, which will add more stress and make you feel like you don't have enough time end energy to do everything.

Sometimes boredom is good for relaxation especially for those that nothing is bothering them but for people who have so many things that are worrying them I don't think boredom is Good for them, it can even lead to depression. For instance,  someone who just lose a job and is all alone boredom can make everything worse for the person. For those who don't have any challenge,  I think they can be able to handle boredom and benefits from it , which could even be a good rest.

I am writing my realization from four days of continuous fever (nothing serious, recovering well). While everything in today's world wants to entertain you, you really have no time to get bored. Why boredom is important? It brings equilibrium back to your mind and body. Consider it another form of dopamine detox, although it is much more than that. My advice is to consciously get bored for a few hours a week and you will see the benefits.
One of the reasons why older generations are good at managing stress and quality of life is because of boredom they have endured throughout their life, unlike the younger generations who can change their attention just by a swap.
I know it may sound paradoxical but next time whenever you choose to watch any Instagram/TikTok reel consider its impact on boredom, not the other way around.

Your case was a forced boredom since you had health issues. I am grateful that you have recovered fully. I have had a few opportunities to move to some countries that have better economic conditions than mine, but after some consideration, I had to let them go. I don't want to spend all my life working without time to rest and meditate.

These days it is really difficult not to see something both online and offline that will not interest you. There will always be news, movies, documentaries, and others that will take your time even when you are not at work. The past generation lived a more fulfilled life because they had time to focus on their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. I have always dreamed of retiring early and relocating to a rural area where I will spend quality time with nature.

Things are changing almost every day as the world shifts from nature to advancement in technology which have drifted the mind of people and the way things are done, way of life, tradition, religion and lots more.
Stress Is one of the reasons why people don't live long on earth again compared to the days of our ground parents. There is no time for relaxation, meditation even time to treat ones self when sick is almost becoming like a waste of time to many people.

Often boredom is associated with an excess of spare time and even laziness. So it makes kind of sense that today's society a pretty much against one getting bored.

Ironically, in terms of a modern society, our government would like us to always be productive and not to have spare time, so we can be always producing wealth and added value to products and services.

We have to remember that we are the only owners of our time and we have the right to do whatever we want with it.

Do we really need to get bored before we know actually what being bored is or appreciating true meaning of happiness?

Allot of things in.like makes one to be naturally unhappy and bored. Their taughts gives you boredom amd keeps you moody almost the end of the day except you are someone who has good sense of self control. So there's no point being extra unhappy to appreciate anything.

For every human being, there is always that moment of self reflection, it doesn't really have to happen when you're bored, you could be in the midst of your friends or family and get lost in your thoughts, you could probably be thinking and reflecting on yourself as a human being. I think boredomness comes more to older people as they are most times detached from most activities unlike young people that are always active and hyper. For young people that equilibrium  moment can comes to their mind at any moment, while for older people they reflect on it when they are bored.

The entire system has changed and the kind of digital access we have now is actually making things worse for the mind. Everything is just instant, everything is always available at our finger tips and that constant stimulation does not really give the brain time to relax. I think one big reason boredom hits this generation more is because we tend to do the same things over and over, just in a different form, all we do with our gadgets is things like scrolling, watching, tapping, it is like moving in a loop without even realizing it. It feels like activity, but mentally it can get repetitive and draining.

The older generation didn’t have a society dominated by digital distractions like this. Their routines were simpler, watching the news, reading newspapers, doing some backyard gardening or small farming, things that actually engaged the mind in a different way and kept them grounded.

Based on what I know about boredom, it is a state of mind where you feel completely uninterested, disengaged and unsatisfied which is caused by restlessness particularly when you feel you are lacking stimulating activities. When you are in boredom, you are often said to be in a state of dull and flat mind meaning your feelings is at its lowest and I don't think being at your lowest is any good for relaxation. The true relaxation is the relaxation of the mind and once the mind is already feeling dull and flat, it won't find relaxation in anything it does and will still feel the restlessness despite being at the state of inactivity.

You call it boredom i call it relaxation. All work and no play make jack a dull boy. How I was able to run every day without getting tired doing one particular thing is to share my time for different activity. If im back from work, i use few hours to watch movie, play video game. Sometimes I go out to play football or any outdoor game i am familiar with. All these things make life simple for us. If we ignore these types of activity we will fall ill easily. In the meantime, quick recovery to you
