One relatively simple solution would be to sell reserves of another asset (e.g. gold) to buy Bitcoins. Basically what Lummins has proposed.
It won't happen because in eyes of many politicians, Bitcoin is still very volatile and risky. Do they see chance of very high ROI, higher than Gold investment ROI, is enough for them to change and migrate from gold to bitcoin for the nation reserves? It's big question and I believe they won't accept Bitcoin as a replacement too gold in near future. Surely Bitcoin has far better ROI than gold. https://casebitcoin.com/charts#roi_chart

if POTUS makes positive or negative remarks it will reflect in price and this being a weekend price momentum is going down ↓ and I see it tanking.
certain whales want to fix the price to a certain amount as they have week long-month long future contracts there are also certain countries that cant even mine for less than $80k so will be part of the buy support to stop prices tanking too fast/at all there are also more countries that cant even mine for less than $75k so will be part of the buy support to stop prices tanking too fast/at all pretty much all countries cant even mine for less than $70k so will be part of the buy support to stop prices tanking at all so learn that there are support levels and stuff happening in the real bitcoin economy that counter the temporary social drama of emotional traders gambling just on potus news this year has seen a new batch of naive, emotional traders who are not experienced.. they are the ones that get emotional and panic or get excited by any random news they get on their phone notification even if its not actually related to bitcoin. EG the "jobs" or "tariff" news most of these silly new traders ar very much addicted to trumpyism news no matter what it is.. the sooner we see these naive investor learn the hard way to not get triggered by every news article that pops up, the better they learn to trade smarter and i feel this includes you where it sounds like you too are thinking potus is the puppet master of bitcoin.. without learning whats the actual economics of bitcoin outside of the 24hour drama sessions done by naive traders.. so give it time and the prolific spamming of potus news will die down ... funny thing is for last few years many countries have been talking about strategic bitcoin reserves.. the BIS(bank of international settlement) has been making regs for it too.. but no one batted an eyelid. but this year the trumpettes are blowing their horns even though trump has not yet and wont even for the next month atleast be hoarding any bitcoin

trumps crypto summit started, many livefeeds crashed out at 20mins.
highlights: 120k* btc could be moved to BSR from other departments (coins gained from asset forfeiture) reducing some regulations that caused barriers is in the cards ('end the regulatory weaponisation')
*departments have over 200k but ~120k belongs to exchanges that were hacked so will be returned to exchanges(eventually)

Donald Trump signs executive order for Strategic Bitcoin Reserve https://cointelegraph.com/news/donald-trump-signs-executive-order-strategic-bitcoin-reserveUS President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that creates a “Strategic Bitcoin Reserve” and a “Digital Asset Stockpile,” both of which will initially use cryptocurrency forfeited in government criminal cases. “Just a few minutes ago, President Trump signed an Executive Order to establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve,” White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks said in a March 7 X post. ”The Reserve will be capitalized with Bitcoin owned by the federal government that was forfeited as part of criminal or civil asset forfeiture proceedings,” he added.

To do that, Congressman Lummis' bitcoin purchasing bill would need to be proposed and passed by Congress to become law, but that won't be easy and I don't think it's likely to happen in the near future. Although Republicans control both houses, meaning they control Congress, the gap is not that large with Republicans holding 220 seats and Democrats holding 215 seats. Democrats will almost certainly oppose this idea from Trump and Lummins, and not to mention, not all Republicans are as pro-bitcoin as we think. Honestly, I was not optimistic about Congressman Lummis' idea from the start.

To many stopping forces that can possibly stop this but let see if there's certain objection regarding to those plans since for sure that there are still politicians really don't want this implementation. But if we could see that there's no objection on opposition side then maybe we can see America will start to buy Bitcoin then add it up on their national reserves. But we don't know what's going to happen in future so I think lets keep updated on upcoming movements of Trump's administration towards on this matter. By the way maybe people like to see this Trump speaks at White House Crypto Summit https://www.youtube.com/live/MZGIgigUsgY?si=i0f01jDEIbcU1VIB

This said reserve seems to be the reason why BTC and other altcoins have taken a nose dive!! The fact that the USA is establishing this 'Bitcoin Strategic Reserve' by using seized coins doesn't really give investor confidence based on the fact that money won't be pumped in And with all what's happening, to avoid using taxpayers money, I hear that tariff money could be used to invest in BTC which leaves everyone in suspense mode...too much talk by POTUS tbh. But they did announce that they WON'T SELL the Bitcoins under their custody which is actually bullish if you ask me. Plus the most powerful government entity has made Bitcoin an actual Global Reserve Asset and you're complaining "why aren't they pumping new money" into the system? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ser, they already are saying that Bitcoin is a valuable asset to HODL and they are HODLing.

Despite Peter Schiff's criticism, investors' enthusiasm is high around Trump's launching the Crypto Reserve. The Crypto Summit took place yesterday, with industry leaders discussing the future of crypto. Cynthia Lummis is working to pass a law: "The Bitcoin Act" https://www.lummis.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/BITCOIN-Act-FINAL.pdfPreparing a bill means that the Senate and oversight bodies must consider the bill's application, its requirements, and its implications before it can be voted on. Trump's executive order to create a federal reserve for bitcoins seized by authorities in various criminal cases amounts to nothing more than formal recognition of bitcoin. However, it requires nothing, as the seized bitcoins are solely under the control of the government and are still considered insignificant in the United States, given the small number of bitcoins. The proposal will only have value if the executive order is enacted into law, enabling the government to fund further purchases and thus cementing the country's overall trend toward greater openness to cryptocurrencies.

Peter Schiff Mocks Trump’s Strategic Bitcoin Reserve
Peter Schiff is a Gold Bug that couldn't accept that Bitcoin has reached a status that has made it an asset that's considered to be better than Gold in some of its features. Portability, Divisibility, and most importantly - Censorship-Resistance. Although, he does have the right to criticize, like we also have the right to criticize other cryptocurrencies. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But does everyone remember Peter Schiff's priceless post in X?

peter schiff PRETENDS to be a gold fan.. yet he is trying to get rid of his gold by promoting that naive investors should buy his gold if you truly love gold. you wont want people to buy YOUR gold. you would want people to buy other gold in the market to take it out of the market so by him selling/offering his gold out to others, he is trying to get out of owning gold and leave others holding the bag
only problem is people are not buying his gold because they are busy buying bitcoin he is angry that bitcoin stole his customers, meaning he cant offload his gold so fast and scam his customers in trade fee's and even"wrap fee" (<2% drop in peg value per year)

What are your thoughts on this? Although I tend to be pessimistic even it's worse than I've expected. Well, I'm laughing here all alone. Omg! It's the most pathetic "reserve" I could think of! PS. I'm curious what Trump's Bitcoiner supporters think on this! Lets be honest its not the reserve that we were hoping for right, but I don't think its over yet. This is just the tip of the ice burg. Essentially what Trump has done is created a big bucket to dump all the crypto that other various federal goverment agencies have up until this point had custody of. Now that Trump has created the "Fort Knox" and he is sure it is secure and in the capable hands of the leaders he has placed in these positions then he will advocate for the actual buying / sale of gold reserves for BTC. We are only seeing the tip of the ice burg my friend. I think that so many people hate Trump that much that they are so quick to judge and say its a shitbag of a reserve but he hasn't even started yet guys, give the man some time to get this shit in order they are working around the clock lol. Thats what I think IMO and I am a huge fan of The Don.

https://decrypt.co/309910/treasury-crypto-firms-custody-bitcoin-reserveTreasury Met With Three Crypto Firms to Decide Custody of Bitcoin Reserve "Firms including Anchorage Digital are advising the U.S. government on best practices for safeguarding billions of dollars worth of crypto assets. The U.S. Treasury Department held meetings this week with top executives from three crypto custody firms to discuss safeguarding the country’s Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, sources familiar with the matter told Decrypt. Anchorage Digital was one such custodian that met with Treasury Department officials on Monday, according to multiple sources with direct knowledge of the matter. When asked about the meeting, Anchorage CEO Nathan McCauley told Decrypt that government officials asked him detailed questions about best practices for custodying a national Bitcoin reserve and digital asset stockpile. McCauley said the officials also inquired about how custody could impact stablecoins and market structure, two hot-button topics currently before Congress. “The Treasury Department is asking all the right questions,” the Anchorage CEO told Decrypt. “It’s clear that Treasury officials are treating this move into the digital asset space with care, recognizing that the United States is quite literally writing history.”"

Just giving this a bump since Trump Media is now planning to establish a bitcoin treasury...
Did the U.S goverment publish or share anything at all? Because I have not seen anything yet. No comments on the plan on "how to buy" and I also believe we don't know anything about the holdings of the U.S goverment that they were supposed to report (aside from the numbers we can see on Arkham Intelligence or some other blockexplorers).
