I'm talking about gambling that's not purely based on luck. I'm sure you're aware of games where skill plays a role like poker and especially sports betting, which is pretty popular.

all gambling businesses whether online or offline if you are just a player who gambles on their platform I don't think this can be a source of income or passive income.
Unless you are the owner of a gambling casino yourself or you are one of the owners of a game provider in a casino.

Most of the gambling community in this era sees casino gambling casino as just luck so that you can get a big profit from it.
Because all those who win big amounts in gambling don't always win.

I think OP meant if anyone here is living from gambling as professional gambler, not if someone is earning from the gamblers.

I have yet to get to know someone who lives from gambling as a gambler, if those people exist they are rare as gem.

Making a living from gambling is different because it actually involves gambling. In your case, there’s no gambling involved, you’re just promoting a casino and getting paid for bringing in players.

The only person that can tell me they make a living from gambling is someone who has won huge amount of money because they will still be using that money for their daily life but it depends on how disciplined you position yourself such that you don't make it a habit to gamble all the time since you already have the money to take care of your needs. But yet i doubt if someone that have even won a huge amount will continue earning a living from gambling in the long run because let us assume that after winning that huge amount, he keeps on betting and losing more such that no matter how little his stake amount, it will get to a time when he will exhaust all the money which means that gambling has not been able to maintain his standard of living in the long run so it is to say that even if anyone makes a living from gambling, it can only last in the short run and not in the long run.

You just made am important remark about skill playing an important role in this games. So before deciding to go down this path,  which I think is not a wise decision. Ask yourself if you truly have the required skills. Even though I strongly believe that it is impossible for someone to make a living out of gambling. Someone should not live his life to gambling, you won't have a stable lifestyle, because today you might win and the next few weeks or months you will still end up losing everything you have won and you might end up borrowing again. And this will certainly lead to addiction. I don't know of other people, but I haven't really seen someone who has made a living from gambling alone without investing in other businesses. The few people that I saw that won some reasonable about of money from gambling went broke after a short while, because they gambled very hard after winning believing that they can still win bigger amounts.

This question has been asked many times in different threads. Making a living from gambling is possible, there are lots of professional Poker players who became millionaires by playing Poker only. Poker players also often get sponsored by casinos and for example, in my country, some casinos even own poker teams and sponsor them when they participate in international Poker tournaments, this is a marketing for casinos.

Also, besides Poker players, people sometimes, very rarely, earn money from sports betting. I had a neighbour who made a living from it for decades until he died. He was watching soccer matches since 90s, he knew everything about football and football players, he was buying newspapers to read sports news, he was manually saving statistics from each soccer match. By being this active, he managed to take care of his family by placing bets on soccer and some other sports but he is a very rare exception, I've never seen someone like him in my life.

This ia a very good perspective because before now most persons do see it that making a living off gambling has to be that you are actively staking and wining and forgetting that you can actually win make a living off gambling without having to actively place a stake on a game and expect to win for you to make profits and make a living of gambling at some point and so seeing that you have mentioned it that you make a living off gambling even without having to place games, this will create a different perspective for some others to see gambling really differently that its already beyond just placing a stake on game and wining that there are other forms of gambling that you can actually benefit from without having to really be a gambler.

Actually I don't know a single person who is living out of gambling and funny I know a lot of gamblers online but also in real life and neither of them can say that daily living is based on gambling. Sure , some bet a lot , some win a lot and some also lose a lot but at the end of the day every single cent they have is reserved for gambling.

However , I'm sure some of here found a way to make a living out of it and they are very calculated with each move they make , each odds they chose and each bet they place and if someone achieved this , I think he can call himself an elite gambler in a good way but this is so rarely as you can always lose control of yourself.

Fair enough, I think that's a different way of making a living as an employee to casinos or bookies and not as a gambler. What OP is referring to is people that are gambling and making a living from their winning. I doubt you are not making a living by gambling but rather by working and getting paid. It's very difficult to make a living as a gambler.

Making a living from gambling can quit be a difficult task if you ask me. though I have heard from some guys who claims it is possible to make a living from gambling, but I haven't seen how that is possible. When I asked they said betting huge amount with lesser odd can be a good strategy like betting $100 on a 1.50 or 2 odd. And this will be played on a gambe that is likely to play maybe it may be studied for sometime before betting. But even as that guy has explain that, there is still a possibility of not making a living from it because I believe that in betting or gambling the possibility of loss is always higher than the win, so hence there is no guarantee of making a living from gambling.

It is very difficult to see anyone who can proudly boost of saying that they are making a living from gambling, quite funny but is real that's is to say it is absolutely nothing to take too serious like most people do and they end up even Lossing more of their funds chasing income at the wrong place, your odd is never a guarantee of winning, that you are betting $100 on 1.50 or 2 odd is never a guarantee that you are going to win the bet even 1.10 odd can lose it happens, an not making a living in gambling I just do it for fun, most times I win and I lost as well and it is not to say am making a living through because the house has won more than I have. Even those that are lucky enough to hit a jackpot winning most times they still end up giving it back to the house. Any one focusing on gambling to make a living may likely end up being a gambling addict.

It's REALLY HARD to achieve a profit in the long term.
It's really hard to earn enough for a living.... Likewise in a western country for a family it's not easy to get enough money just from gambling!

People able to make a living on gambling can be defined more as "gambling traders" and not a gamblers.
Why?
Take as an example horse racing in UK and Ireland.
It's really crazy if you see the movement before the race starts. Impressive amount are gambled without horse running.
And here they are earning, "trading" odds.

Another category of people that are "making a living on gambling" are the rich bettor that follow big tennis tournament. If you have enough money to cover all expenses you have a clear advantage versus other players since ... you're watching LIVE a match! You have access to everything even comments by a trainer or made by a player.

What do you mean by gambling Affiliated? Are you an employee of a casino? Because if yes, then you are a different employee of a casino who expects a salary from the gambling business you work for compared to an independent gambler who puts money into a casino and relies on luck.

That's why gambling casino is difficult to be a job because no one knows if they will win anything from their gambling especially if they play casino games every day of their lives.

I wouldn't do it, I have a job that pays for my gambling. I know it's impossible for me to make a living from gambling. Even though I'm active in sports betting, some of the winnings would be better to fund a fun activity. Not as a main income that would be difficult if the betting situation is not as we predicted.
In sports betting too, I also often have bad luck in making bets. Winnings that are consistent enough usually with smaller risks, and small payouts.

I dont think we even have users who make a living directly from profit from gaming. There are those who are connected with gambling (for for industry, wear signature), but there no one whos job or primary source of income are gambling games. I believe that people are way to smart to rely only on money they win in gambling. We have already discussed how unstable income from gambling is and how risky it is to rely only on gambling.

I am not makes a living from gambling, it’s not possible to me, and i don’t need to depend on gambling as income sources because gambling cannot be a profession, it’s not a guaranteed make money way, even it’s pretty much risky. I know some of my neighbors who make living in gambling, and one of them big success in a few years, but win in the gambling is skill and also luck, so they also losses big in many times.

In my opinion, the answer to your question will depend on the point of view of each gambler, but to answer whether gambling (poker) can be the main income then I would say YES and NO.
I say YES because from some sources that I read there are poker players who have become very rich in the game, such as Phil Ivey, Bryn Kenney, daniel negreanu, Fedor Holz and also several other professional poker players.

While I will answer, NO for us beginners and do not have very good expertise and skills in playing, because however without a strong enough basis in poker the game can make you poor.

There few poker player and sports bettor that become successful by gambling on their own respective game. It’s possible to this if you have the skills that can beat almost other players especially on poker that skills is the most required tool in able to win.

I have never seen it, even if there is I think they do not read the thread that has discussed a lot that gambling is not a good place to earn a living, gambling is a place for entertainment, here we have fun not to earn money for daily needs, why does that happen, it is because gambling is very unpredictable even though it can provide luck, or it can be said that depending on luck is uncertain, but you need to eat tomorrow which is something that is certain to be obtained, so it is very unsustainable if gambling is used as a place to earn income, I think it is quite ridiculous to seek profit for the needs of gambling.
