ANYONE here makes a living in gambling?

Well I have yet to know someone who makes a living in gambling as during so many years of gambling, more than 25 to be precise I have not been able to see someone who is making a living from gambling. In fact quite the opposite as I have already said this story in some other gambling thread when I used to work in a casino a few persons were claiming that they were making a living of gambling while in reality they were only accumulating debt, one of them got a divorce and the other one were faking like he were poisoned by a fish restaurant where he went to eat, which was only an excuse to not pay his debts as the debts kept accumulating, that is stories I have heard, I have not heard stories of people succeeding in life from gambling and I doubt I will ever see or hear.

There's absolutely no one that makes a living from gambling, it's not possible. People that claim to do this are lying. I agree with you because I have talked to many types of gamers, but I have never heard of anyone taking it as a profession. When I have no certainty whether I will win or lose, how can they choose it as a profession? i don't no, how is possible.

Your observations are right, gamers have zero chance of achieving a living in gambling. Unless through comps, and other bonuses offered in the offline settings. Other than that, basing on winning is so dangerous that expert warn of the time consumption and absence from family and loved ones. It's not something to choose, even if profits are given, imagine going a whole day in the casino. The fatique and waist pains, including eye strains, are worst than losing money.

That phrase that becomes popular in the gambling industry is about asking, like, what you are doing, but its never an assertion that anyone can really make a living in gambling because until now nobody has come out to claim that he is making a living in gambling as a player long term. A gambler can make a series of wins, but it will not qualify as making a living as a gambler because that series of wins cannot compare higher than the gambler's series of losses.
In the final computation, he is still at loss, so this term is still a term meant to be a dream for gamblers.

I don't think you will find anyone here that they were making their living in gambling. Even I see lots of jackpot winner who loses their all of fund in gambling again what they get from the jackpot.

And it also doesn't makes sense where there is no usages of skill but it just depends on luck that could be a source of leading life. More importantly, have you ever seen a person who always makes a profit? And that is enough to understand that gambling can never be a way of life.

I personally do not earn money by gambling, but I have a real acquaintance who lives only at the expense of it. He plays sports poker, but in this case he earns not at the expense of money poker room, and at the expense of money less skillful than he clients poker room. People that are making money from gambling may not be here to disclose their information and strategies to anyone. Making a living from just gambling is very difficult because where would you be seeing money to stake different games that you think will end up in a win. Every gambler need to have a real source of income so that they can always take care of their bills without relying on gambling for a living.
It is very difficult to keep making consistent profits from gambling that's why we need to know what we are doing nit to keep falling victim to the ideology that one day, you are going to make huge profits from betting.

I don't think that there's somebody here that's making a living off of gambling, but outside of the forum, I'm sure there are many.

You said it already that professional poker players and sports bettors are making a living off of gambling, and that's true, BUT it requires skill, discipline, and a deep understanding of the game. Making a living from gambling is very difficult and those who are thinking of doing it are losing money in the long run.

I'm not saying that it's impossible, but it's hard to pull off.

Yes, I agree with this. That's the problem when someone tries to make gambling a living, it is irregular. Sometimes they win and sometimes they lose which means it ain't really a way to make money that would secure our financial needs. Actually, it might be the other way around because it could sometimes ruin our budget which will lead to being in debt either with banks or with another person who lends money. This is why I don't recommend any gambler friend to do it on a daily basis. Some of them join a weekly poker event and I think that's enough even though I know they are good at playing it. There's still no assurance that they can win in a streak because there are good opponents too.

I am mostly betting with sports and other type. I am not into it as a full time but I can bet everyday because it doesn't consume too much time just to look at the matches and decide on what kind of bet I'll be doing. Maybe a match winner, total number of scores/kills(for esports). It's an easy task but still, I won't consider myself doing it for a living. I'm not as extreme as the others and I don't consider myself as an addicted gambler. I am not consistent as the others and I think even if I become consistent with winning, I'll still decline to believe that I can be a full time gambler.

I would agree about adding it as an additional source of income. Profit in gambling isn't stable, and that's why if someone is confidently making enough money for living in gambling, they're great gamblers.

But it's not limited only to gambling if it's related to gambling. There goes the marketers and maybe those that are profiting the casinos, can we include them as people that makes money from gambling?

If not, then only those actual gamblers that are making money out of it. It's hard to get into that situation but those that are making a living from it, they know how it works for them.

There is no guarantee and there can never be a guarantee that one can actually make a living through gambling because gambling is not a job or work someone should rely or dwell in, I mean who will rely on something they know that is very risky and the chance of winning is very small though people do actually make a lot of money from gambling not because they relied on it or is there work but rather they played whenever they feel it is convenient for them and if luck is on there side definitely they will make profit from it.

Personally I don't think i have friends as gamblers who make a living by the winnings they earn from gambling, except they are doing any other online investments or services that earned them a good amount of money to their pocket, we can be gambling and be winning, but that doesn't make it a continuous process because in most conditions, we often gamble and loose, this makes many to have termed it this way that in gambling, it is easier to lose than to win, as a gambler, it is expected of us to have another thing which we do that earn us a living aside gambling for fun.

We all agreed on this doesn't still place some people not been in the show of taking gambling as their day to day means of survival, because I've seen some people around my local vicinity that has nothing to do everyday than to be in the casino to gamble, I don't even know how managed they were able to earn a living and survive, because Everytime you will find them at the casino gambling, but we are not to compare ourselves to those kinds, neither is it right to live in such a manner without having anything to do in other to earn a living than always being at the casino.

there may be people who do make a living from their gambling, whether they are professional poker players, expert bettors, or other professional players who use their skills in games that do rely on skill. but to be like them is not easy, not only do you need skill, but also intuition which leads you to achieve good performance in your gambling. so if you want to follow in their footsteps, that is your choice, but it is not an easy path, and you need to understand the risks.
