Does anyone here experience this from time to time? Because in the end, the real enemy is ourselves.
How do you control yourself and do the right thing?

No I don't experience or have this habit of chasing after my losses.
Infact, I don't hesitate to take a break from gambling the moment I have started observing some back to back losses. You are very correct by saying that "the real enemy is ourselves". I have seen few people can gamble for a lengthy period of time, until they hit a win. Of course, no one wants to be on a lossing side, but there are times that we just need to back off, or we might end up becoming frustrated.

And another big problem is that self control is very rare in gambling.
Let's say, out of 100%, those who have that self control are not up to 30%. And that's why most gamblers can't even tell when they are becoming frustrated with their losses, as they think that chasing after their losses is a sign of perseverance.

This varies from person to person. Some people get addicted to gambling because they can’t control themselves. If we don’t correct that habit early, there’s a chance we might face serious gambling addiction in the future. But we have control over ourselves, so we should do our best to manage it. We can’t guarantee we won’t make mistakes, but at least we’re taking action to recognize and learn from them.

I always read that when we’re losing big, we should stop to avoid losing even more. But deep inside, if you still have money left, it’s like you want to chase your losses as it feels like you can’t sleep unless you gamble again and try to recover.

Yes, that is always there but no matter what happens you should always try to quit for the game.
If you end up chasing losses you will almost always lose more money in the process.
This has been experienced by a majority of the gamblers and hence I think this should be declared as a general rule of thumb.

Feeling like they can possibly hit a big win make those people think about not stopping since they are chasing those chance that they can earn money that's why they didn't stop. For sure we encounter this scenario that's why we can relate to those gambler doing this especially if they are new.

But I believe that once they already experience worse things realization came and they won't think about doing those risky things they have done before. Wanting to earn more or recover those losses is dangerous situation that's why people need to learn how to have good discipline and won't chase anything since this is to bad for them if they do so.

It is true that our real enemy in the gambling industry is none other than ourselves. Because if we had not decided to try gambling, we would not have ended up in this situation.
And I also think it is normal for all gamblers to go through this.

What is not normal is that we experience it repeatedly and do not change, but if we decide to control ourselves in playing gambling, there is nothing impossible for us to be disciplined
or control ourselves properly in gambling here at the casino.

For someone who is new to gambling, it is difficult for them to continue after getting a loss on their first attempt because they will have the fear that they can lose further if they try to gamble more and regardless of how low the amount they lost, it pains them a lot but what happens why it is difficult to let go is when you come back to gamble next time and lose again that is when the urge to gamble more in order to recover your losses starts playing in your head. Majority of gamblers do gamble to chase losses but anyone who takes gambling as a fun activity will not bother to gamble more after a loss because they never thought they will even win at first and since they don't take it serious, it won't be an issue for them.

Chasing your losses in gambling is a bad approach to recovering regardless if you have enough balance to do so, as long as you are not sure you will win the next game the whole attempt to recover from previous losses is a bad idea and should be discarded, as a gambler you don't have to keep the big amount on your gambling account and anytime you should endeavor to make your withdrawal ASAP to avoid the temptation of trying to bet more than you intended.

When I used to experience the tendency to Chase my losses was back when I used to make huge deposits into my gambling account, let's say I have a balance of $100 deposits and I bet with $50 and lost it, I will be tempted to stake another bet and at that point, I will be carried away to look for high odds so that I can recover on time.

Its hard  to control specially whn you are losing and you have the feeling that free/bonus spin will dropo anytime soon.
We have  our thinking like that as a gambler. We can control the flow if we are winning but this change when we are chasing the victory and we are on losing side.
I can go no sleep at night just to gamble and take my money back.

I do experience that everytime i gamble and losing money, Actually i can't control things unless i have no funds left. (most of the time)
Sometimes i just stop because my daughter is calling me, and told myself, why she did not call me earlier so i did not lose that big Cheesy

I think it is hard to stop because, as long as gambler have some small amount of money, he never loses hope for the "big win".

Also there is adrenaline addiction, where gambler can not function anymore without adrenaline rush, and everything else seems boring.

Basically everyone is hoping that at some point that get that huge win and make their life change, but in order for that to happen you have to be super lucky IMO. You can win a few bucks here and there but in the long run as everyone knows you're gonna lose more than you win. I think you have a better chance playing live games and sports vs slots, but still gonna take a lot of luck either way.

Maybe it's self-control, or maybe it's excessive passion, which at first is not given much attention, because they do not think that something bad can come out of it, until it goes too far. When you perceive something as entertainment, you will not devote enough time and importance to it, everything will be like a game, but when you start losing a lot, then you start thinking that it took a lot of your money and you want to get it back, it is difficult to stop and you understand that it is also difficult to win.
Its not maybe but rather its just really that indeed a self control on what you do really need on which it will really be better that you do have that consideration at the time that you do gamble. Its recommended that on the time that you do make out such gambling then its always important that you do really know on how to handle up your gambling capital. Dont chase up your loses and dont tend to deposit even more at the time that you do gamble because if you do then you will really be definitely facing up some financial hardship at the time that you do make out such excessive manner then this is where shit things happen.

When you are not that wanting to face up loses and at the moment that you do become experiencing loses then you will be defnitely become that impulsve on which it causes up that huge problem later on.
When you are already that able to experience loses then you will definitely becoming that desperate.

How do you control yourself and do the right thing?
Well I try to think about the consequences.

We lose sleep and we want to keep gambling because we are thinking of the possibilities of winning and we are thinking of situations where we end up with more money that we do not even think about what if we lose? How could it possibly affect you when you lose all money in gambling? How will it affect your family? I think about that and I stop.

I always read that when we’re losing big, we should stop to avoid losing even more. But deep inside, if you still have money left, it’s like you want to chase your losses as it feels like you can’t sleep unless you gamble again and try to recover.

Does anyone here experience this from time to time? Because in the end, the real enemy is ourselves.
How do you control yourself and do the right thing?
This is called addiction and emotion. A person who is involved in gambling will continue to gamble as long as he has money. It doesn't matter to them how much they lose. they always expect that they can recover their losses at any time. this is how they continue gambling. When they lose, they only want to stay away from gambling for a short period of time but return to gambling very quickly if they have the money. Many people borrow money from others to continue gambling even though they have no money of their own because they think they can recover their previous losses. Gambling is a silent killer that kills a person slowly without their knowledge

that is exactly what happens when addiction eats up a person thinking and or mentality, they go insane or gaga. i have equally thought about it. stopping addiction is easy to say but the reality is that it take more than just saying a word to stop it. but to what ever thing we decide to do, there should be an acting force to backup our proclamation otherwise we would still be stagnant in what we do.

Actually the real enemy is ourselves because if we cant stop it then we are still a slave to addiction. yeah.. i think most of us here or all are a victim of such addictive life of gamboling. when this happens guys even gamble out of will.

the only way to take control of ones self is to have a set time limit or fund the amount you can afford to lose, so that when it get exhausted then you call it a quit.

If you are losing sleep over losses it only means that you are not that rich. Do you think rich people lose sleep over the money they have lost? I do not think so. This doesn't mean they are free from falling into addiction but it only means that when they are gambling they are gambling more for enjoyment rather than the end result of money or profit. If you had the same mindset, it would be easier.

Set a bankroll I think it can be your self-control to set limits, if you gamble without limits that assume the savings in the bank can be bet again because you want to continue to chase losses.

I think this is a lot of experience for gamblers because chasing losses has been felt from time to time, the problem is whether we will break our own rules? This is indeed a big enemy of ourselves.

So if I set in the bankroll if it is exhausted then stop will not disturb other money, just for the desire to continue playing gambling.

Being able to stop gambling when it is not going well is a level you should consciously work towards achieving. If you get to that level, if simply means you are in control of your gambling and never addicted in any form. I can boldly say that I have passed this level myself because I can stop whenever I want to. How to get that stage is by ensuring you gamble strictly for passive income and don't even gamble with the intention of becoming a millionaire, that will ruin you completely because gambling works with the mind. If your mind is fixed on becoming rich through  gambling, you will make decisions that are not right and you will not be able to control your gambling.

It is hard to stop because we dont have strong will to do it, because we are controlled by our own greed while in fact we are the one who should be able to control our own greed.
I was on this position years ago when I was addicted to gambling but luckily I was able to get out from that situation without experiencing the worse case of addiction.
Since that time, I can start and stop gambling at anytime, if I have to say who is the one who help me to get out from that addiction, there is no one else except my wife.

If you lose money in gambling and still have money left in your account, you do not have to think to recover your losses because that can make you spend all of your money without left. It is better to stop your gambling and close your browser without hesitate to distract your minds telling you to continue gambling. We must say no to ourselves to continue gambling when we already loss because that is part of self control we learn. We can not risk too much money in gambling because we must remember the risk can become big and we can face gambling addiction.
