Just to add on what you have extensively discussed, as I reminder to everyone, please avoid communicating via telegram with anonymous persons who randomly invite or message you to join to their groups.
It's good to be cautious, careful and stop communicating with strangers after they contacting you. By continuing your communication with strangers, you will be exposed with more risk and if you are not careful enough, you will interact with phishing sites or harzadous files that are intentionally use to compromise your devices and steal your crypto.

Quote
Even if they may claim that they offer free services or cryptocurrencies at their expense, the rule to live by (like what OP mentioned) is that there is no free money in this world.
There is no free lunch.
There is no "too good to be true offers" that are actually valid and they are mostly scams offers.

I think sometimes the greedier you are the easier it is for you to get scammed. This is because most of the time this scams often come in the form of offers that look too good to be true and then a greedy person just can't withstand ignoring such and offer and then boom they fall for it.
In my opinion some things are just too obvious and you should be mindful of them. You shouldn't just sit around and click links from any random user whether on telegram or other platforms.

Many people call Telegram a den of scammers, although I have never had an offer from Fragment, there are many offers from others because I suspect they will also cheat in any way.

When someone you don't know DMs you first, you should be suspicious especially if you never ask for it - we already know premium telegrams are easy to get so now scammers use premium to avoid being suspicious.

But so far I've never fallen for any telegram scams.

It's good that you have never fallen victim of any scam on TG but still you need to remain extra vigilant on TG to avoid future scams. Scammers are updating there strategies and with time they come up with new ideas.

Since this scam through Fragment is now exposed, the scammers won't use it in coming days rather they will find other ways to scam people. Avoiding scam is our choice, just few simple cyber security measures and you are safe online. It doesn't require any technical knowledge to be safe on the internet, simple steps like the one you mentioned that avoiding DMs from unknown people can keep you safe online

Its a too good to be true offer.  An attractive username with an exact word like @cryptoholder would be valuable.  As far as I know this username was auctioned in fragment and the bidding price reached up to 11k TON.

I wonder why people would be offering crazy amounts of money for a Telegram username unless they were treating it as a collectible. Something doesn't add up here.

People should be able to estimate the market value of their usernames to avoid falling into this trap.

Yeah I will always be aware of scams on Telegram maybe in the future they will be different with new tricks, so we need to be aware.

The point is to never be tempted by the offers of strangers, there are often scams where victims are lured by unreasonable offers.

There are so many unknown DMs, but I never open them because I know they are scams.

As long as they provide a safe and secure way to transact, such as using escrow or requiring payment first, that’s what really matters. Not all transaction offers on Telegram are scams—some are legitimate. However, if an offer seems obviously suspicious or designed to scam, it’s best to stay away and block the conversation immediately.

I always not completing the task if they provide me link to a website unless they can show evidence or proof that someone did get paid or they have use a service like escrow. As you can read on the post by px-z is that not all offers on telegram are scam but we shouldn't forget that most of the offer on telegram are scams that's why I always not replying to whoever is selling, offering you to earn lots of money and many more messages that the scammers can think of.

Thank you for this thread, this is an important thread that teaches a lot about telegram scan that have been in existence since.
Telegram used to be like a home to scammers, they find new users always on telegram and they keep scamming them because some people are just hoping telegram for money making opportunities especially related to cryptocurrency, that’s why they easily fall for the scam easily.

So please be aware of these scams. Just remember in this world there's nothing like free money or easy money.

Greed will never allow some people to fall for such scam, people will always take risk to see if they can have their life changing money with such opportunities that’s why they get scammed easily.
Always avoid been greedy and clicking unknown links, you will be free from scammers.

No one has ever spoken well about offers they get from Telegrams, all the stories we hear are scam offers and that begins to rule our minds whenever we see messages as such. Bountiful times were nice offers have been accepted likely ends in scam, people are just being careful not to be the next victim.

Unfortunately, not many people are smart enough to differentiate between genuine strangers and scammers who are just seeking another victim, even when there are lots of red flags staring at them in their faces. The irony of the whole thing is that these scammers often appear even more genuine than the real strangers with good intentions whom we should be interacting with. For this class of users, especially newbies who cannot easily tell who is who, it is best and even safer for them to completely ignore strangers who come to their DMs with unsolicited offers. A lot has been going on in the online space, and we can tell from all indications that scammers are far more common than genuine people. Newbies would be saving themselves from regrets if only they would just ignore them.
