Stake.com lied and scammed me for $6,266.11 + transphobia

My username of Stake.com: Amihanski01
I am a transgender woman, and my appearance has changed significantly due to surgery.  I'm unsure if transphobia is the reason as to why they won't accept my kyc, but it's starting to seem more likely than just pure ignorance.

When I registered, I saw a message similar to this one.
Notice the text "Stake will never hold, freeze or confiscate your funds or unclaimed bonuses.".
This is EXACTLY WHAT THEY HAVE DONE.
They have frozen my funds!
They claim that every single document I send to them is fake, and now they claim I'm a liar with a fake account.
I used my own funds and my own identity, but they refuse to video call me to see the truth.
If this is not resolved, nobody should play on stake.com, they may scam you despite being one of the largest casinos in the fucking world.

This is really a unique type of accusation against Stake.com and I don't know how they're going to deal with this accusations. To be honest, their representative on this forum isn't as active as he used to be but I believe their campaign manager is still active on the forum and hope she may visit this thread or somehow help you out. However, I don't think that in such case Stake may refund your money but still I believe a reputed casino like Stake.com should definitely help out in such situation.

Which things on your ID for example changed? Is it a new picture, name (maybe) and gender, but the same date of birth, ID number and so on?
Unless you provide more evidence I don't see any transphobia. Also, the cancelled withdrawals are from 12 days ago. What happened since then? Did they ask for new KYC? Also, how long are you with stake and what happened during KYC?

There are many questions because with what you wrote it's hard to paint a real picture.

First I thought it is a case of, you registered as a man and now you are a woman (or reverse) but obviously this is not the case when you registered 2 weeks ago. SO something must have happened during KYC you are not telling us.

One more thing, you shouldn't start your accusation with a lie though. "My account has been frozen for over two weeks now when I tried to withdraw my balance." is not true. Today is the 15th and you opened your account on the 2nd. Impossible to be over 2 weeks. Something seems very off here.

I assume you entered your new name and sex when you made your stake account but sent an ID with your old name and sex. Of course they would suspend your account, what did you expect?? How can you think they would verify documents and don't fit the data you entered?
Get a new ID the represents your new identity and the problem is solved. I am amazed you even thought they would accept an old ID that contains totally different information.

but did you actually put your new identity instead of the one stated on your ID? I mean, I am not trying to be rude here but from what I have seen when casinos are verifying the information they usually want the information you provided on your account and the information you have on your ID or other documentation to match.

anyway, I haven't seen stake.com tackle issues here in the forum for a while now(if I remember correctly), you should try posting this on casino.guru or askgamblers, they are websites that try to mediate issues between casinos and gamblers.

Stake team won't appear physically on your location to verify your changes. You have already made your situation complicated there. It isn't possible for any online casino now to verify your identity unless you create a new identity document for you.

If you want to register and pass KYC on any service, your have to change your ID cards to reflect your new identity, Stake has neither scammed you or lied, any service would have done exactly the same thing.

He was right, you changed your identity and you posted something regarding AML/KYC. If you fill in some early information, for example, Level 1 Information with your new (name, sex, gender, or other) and during Level 2 Verification, you post a document with your old information. The information you're filled on Level 1 with your Level 2 document will be different, your submitted will rejected and being categorized for fraud things.


If you change something, always make sure you change everything (othe ocument and other must be the same, all with the same information). I think it's basic law things, even a small typo in your document can cause some problems. I hear someone getting problem, due the government who created his identity make a typo of his name.

OP, I can't believe I spent quite some time diving and reading about gender reassignment procedure, but... doesn't the country you're at, whichever it is [though it'll be much appreciated if you can tell us which, so I can specifically focus my study on the rules and procedure following or prior to the... procedure] issue a formal document explaining the transition status and/or issue you a new ID that linked to your old ID?

Since your account is two weeks old and I am somewhat sure you've got reassigned quite a while prior to signing up to stake and stumbled upon this situation [as I find it hard to imagine someone will bother to play on gambling site during or right after the procedure, due to the post-surgery pain itself alone]. If you happen to have that formal document, it might be worth to try showing that to Stake to prove your situation. Or, if you have new ID issued to you?

I am in the Philippines, so my documents were only updated at the local level since nationally we cannot change them after surgery.
I sent them both my old and new docs and information that is really supposed to be my private medical information in hopes they would see that I'm not some criminal and pay me out, but to no avail.

This is not possible if he is on the Philippines. Sex change or any form of gender related issue such as same sex marriage is not allowed here.

I think he/she should use his original name and sex to match with his ID since his face might be the same unless he do some face alteration surgery also then his case is very hard to solve.


@OP, What is the response of Stake when you send the proof for the sex change surgery? Your case is peculiar and you can’t blame Stake since there’s a lot of cheater trying to attack them using different method just to bypass KYC.

Naively, right. First of all, do we even know this story is true? Maybe this person used other credentials and now tries the changed gender route, people get very creative when it comes to tricking the system. Just saying it's a possibility.

Anyway, you can't use a wrong name nowhere. Imagine opening a back account with the name Francine but on your ID your name is Frank, that won't work. Same with airline tickets or anything else where you have to provide ID.  

Edit: even though stake has solid grounds to suspend the account of course they should at least refund the deposit because there is no reason to keep that.

I will tell you, at a bank you can't open an account anonymously and later when you have 50,000 USD on it, they don't suddenly ask for your ID documents and confiscate your 50,000 USD!
