Yeah addiction can also come from brain issues but i am not sure genetic has something to do with addiction. The genetic aspect is wrong unless the gene has some dysfunctionality that most neurons or hormones are not working properly thereby affecting how the brain works. Because it is funny to say someone was born a gambler by gene or the gene was pass down from the parents to the child so as the parent is an addicted gambler so the child. No, its behavior and character that can be pass down and that is not part of what the gene contains.

Gambling addiction is mainly due to the desire to recover losses. Gambling is completely dependent on luck. So no matter how experienced a gambler is, he has to rely on luck. And everyone's luck is not the same while playing. So most people lose again and again. They start gambling again just to recover the losses they suffer as a result of losing. I was told the story of one guy in the city I stay and the guy was a drug addict just like his late Dad. His dad was also an addict who sold all his property and spent the money just on drugs and woman and that's exactly the same lifestyle that the son is living right now, he doesn't have any property of his own and have sold everything that was willed to him by his mum. He has kids but his is not taking care of them and he has even gone to prison twice. I am just telling you this as an example of why I would believe that addiction can also be through genetic. Such case could also happen in gambling addiction.

When I first got to know and tried gambling, I really felt that it was easy to win gambling and I initially tried playing slots. And this is in accordance with what you said that it was what finally brought me to feel comfortable continuing to play gambling, and over time at that time I started to get addicted to gambling.
