How to Protect yourself from the telegram crypto scammers?
The telegram has become a popular platform for the connection of cryptocurrency enthusiasts and daily updates on the crypto market. However, it has also become a big hotspot for scammers. Here are how you can identify telegram crypto scams and scammers and protect yourself.
1. Phishing link:
Scammers are constantly posting scam links to the Telegram groups, claiming that they are offering an offer or giving a big update. These links are taken to fake websites designed to steal your personal information. So, before entering the link to any wire group, check it up. Avoid clicking on links provided by unknown user.
2. Fake Giveaway:
"Send me 1 btc and I'll send you 2 btc refund!" Scammers regularly post these national offers to telegram groups. Be careful, do not get into the trap in the hope of gaining over. These giveways are often fake.
3. The disguise scammer:
Some scammers claim to be the administrator of the popular crypto groups or as members of the team. Verify his identity before dealing with a group member of a group.
Conclusion:
Telegram can be an important medium for crypto enthusiasts but they must always be vigilant. By following these alertness you can protect yourself and your information from crypto scammers.

I don't trust anyone who PMs me first on Telegram; most of the telegram users who PM me are scammers and always send you unknown links or phishing links.
To avoid these untrusted telegram users, always ask it here on the forum to make sure if you are talking to a legit or trusted user, and everyone here will help you determine if it's a scammer or not. Or ask if the link they send is legit or not.
I usually use a spare PC or virtual box to do some reckless thing like clicking phishing links or ads to verify if the site is asking for seed phrase backup or any private/important details. So if you want to protect yourself from them, never share your keys private/important details with anyone. That's the important thing you need to do if someone or the site is asking about this; it's obvious a scam attempt unless the site is known, so you should ask them first here on the forum to determine if the site can be trusted.

It's not proper to join a telegram groups that allow a random member to post links, these posts are always automatically removed and banned by the admin directly or by telegram bots inscribed in the group.
If you join a telegram groups where random members are restricted to post links, then these scammers chats up the members one by one claiming to be an admin sending them link introducing them to a business and investment plan.
You fall for these scammers if you reply and converse with them, because admin will never dm you first, take note of that.

Isn't there an option in Telegram to limit the number of persons, who can write to you? I advise using 2-factor authentication there. Also hide the personal information; do not click anything (even from the trusted contacts).
There was a case; many users have seen the active sessions in their profiles from different countries. The issue was you can't change the password, if at least 1 session is active. So yeah, there are actually way more ways to be hacked than I used to know. And I only wonder how many of them will be created in the future.

You can use /report too, but in these cases where posts are not automatically removed, a few minutes or even seconds may be enough for the link to be clicked. If you join a telegram groups where random members are restricted to post links, then these scammers chats up the members one by one claiming to be an admin sending them link introducing them to a business and investment plan.
You fall for these scammers if you reply and converse with them, because admin will never dm you first, take note of that.
It's hilarious when scammers write to you with a message in their name saying "I'll never dm you first" , and yet some people keep falling, unfortunately.

How to Protect yourself from the telegram crypto scammers?
Stop using telegram and switch to SimpleX chat app that is much better for privacy, and they are accepting Bitcoin and other coins for donation. But whatever you are using for communications you should always be careful with clicking on links, both in email, websites and in chat messengers.

1. Fishing link:
Phishing links are easy to recognize if you really check in more detail and make sure the domain is correct if you want to access it... One more thing, don't rush to click on any links. 2. Fake Giveaway:
It's like a ponzi scheme “send 1BTC - get 2BTC” it's ridiculous if anyone believes in investments like this. 3. The disguise scammer:
This is what you need to be aware of... When you ask a question in any group, such as the exchange group asking about complaints, someone posing as an admin will send a DM first under the pretext of trying to help. Beware like this often happens and the real admin never sends DM first.

[Here are how you can identify telegram crypto scams and scammers and protect yourself.
1. Fishing link:.
It is difficult to identify scamming links and by so awareness, staying more concious by not clicking suspicious links especially coming from untrusted source will keep you on a better safety side than checkmating on the link. To enhance your device securities in terms of malware softwares in case of clicking malicious link either from a trusted source, you should install anti malware program to restrict the scammers commands through the link in the domain. 2. Fake Giveaway:
This fake promise of scammers may not only be exercised on the X platform but other social platforms. So they usually comes with almost unresist able promises which greeds and lack of knowledgeable persons falls into their traps. So you should just be aware that not all that glitters are gold to chase.

To be sincere I just prefer not to do any cryptocurrency business on telegram. Especially from unknown users.
Telegram scammers are now fast ahead of being just unknown users to known users through impersonations and they even go to the extent of getting them verified with blue-ticks. They are far beyond normal.
For me I think best way to avoid telegram crypto scams except through impersonations is to ignore unsolicited DMs, Confirm through phone calls or any other means before accepting to keep communication on telegram and lastly avoid by all means telegram groups especially crypto groups that's where they get your contact informations and send you unsolicited DMs infact groups and channels are the very first steps avoid them with all that you can...... This is from experience.

Any newbie who is privileged to be on this forum and has been following posts about scammers and their modes of operation should count themselves lucky to be here. I say this because the members of this forum have made great efforts to keep everyone updated on scam techniques and how to avoid them. Everyone has been carried along, except those who can't read.
If, after all these efforts by members here, newbies or even senior members of this forum still make the mistake of falling for Telegram scams as common as fake giveaways or disclosing private information to strangers they don’t even know simply because they offered to help with something, then they have only themselves to blame.
Good strangers do exist, but how can you tell if their intentions are genuine? Just ignore strangers, newbies.

Lol, I believe I’m also some people lol, because lately, all I ever need telegram for is just to receive notifications from Bitcointalk Telegram SuperNotifier. Sometimes when I log in to my telegram, I see a lot of stuffs that’s been pinned to my telegram by God knows who, and without even wanting to read or look further to see what it is, I simply just unpin them one after the other until I’ve unpinned every single one of them. I’ve had my own fair share of Telegram shits and I’ll be the last one to ever decide to give anything on telegram a try. Hell No

Being a part of an informative forum and community has this can be advantageous during scam attacks but still doesn't make one completely immune to scam and fraud. Phishing links this says can be so real that it will only take experience and careful observations to detect flaws in the address. As long as any one has decided to stay in the crypto spa e be it a newbie or a professional crypto enthusiast, staying updated with trends, technology and networks will help better in preventing scams. A ever learning crypto enthusiast will stay 95% immune to scam compared to some crypto folks who only wait to be feed with information.

With all the guidelines about how to avoid being scammed in the forum and all the scam stories everywhere especially on telegram, anyone that fall a victim to these scammers should be considered to be a scammer too and what happened to him is merely a case of a scammer being scammed. I don't have any reason to click on any random link from a telegram group, as a matter of fact, I don't even click on any link no more. It is greed that makes people to talk victim because how can you see a link that says, someone tells you to "send $10 and receive $50" in a few minutes and you believe them? Stay away from telegram groups and its random link and experience peace of mind though telegram isn't the only place that scammers operates so let's be wise.

Telegram can be an important medium for crypto enthusiasts but they must always be vigilant. By following these alertness you can protect yourself and your information from crypto scammers.
You have raised a few important information about shielding yourself from scammers on telegram. For me, except I am familiar with the project or the people behind the project, I don't engage in any crypto related businesses on Telegram. Last year, there was an increase in crypto-related projects on Telegram, but from my personal observation, only a few of them were worth the time and money. Another popular scam on Telegram is impersonation. Scammers can easily claim who they are not by creating accounts with almost similar names. We need to pay proper attention to details and always verify an account before any interaction or transaction happens.

No one is immune to scam and fraud, it can happen to anyone who is ignorant, lacks proper education or is just too greedy. The essence of a community like this is to share ideas, including our experiences with the outside world. The information we get here has helped quite a good number of us protect ourselves from scammers. I am a good example of one of those people this forum has been rescuing from some avoidable scams. I have never fallen victim to scam before and yea, I am not immune to scams. All I know, I learnt from this forum. If other forum members can practice what they learn here, the chances of them becoming victims to most Telegram scams will be very slim.

Just like you said that telegram is not the only messaging app for scammers, so it is. When we also check platforms like X you will also hear stories of scammers over there so scamming is very rampant it's just for people to be very careful and avoid greed and suspicious links you don't know of or instead practically interact with people you know very well. In a real sense why would someone even ask you to send a little crypto before you claim a bonus or reward. I was once introduced to a mining app where you will need to buy a boosting power with money then the profits will be increasing everyday till it reaches a certain withdrawal amount, i just quickly knew it was a scam method but the person who introduced me to it became a victim after buying the boosting power and was unable to withdraw. During the crypto games tapping periods, a lot of my friends and families sent me links of apps to join the tapping games but i didn't click on any because i know how vulnerable some of those apps can be.

2. Fake Giveaway:
"Send me 1 btc and I'll send you 2 btc refund!" Scammers regularly post these national offers to telegram groups. Be careful, do not get into the trap in the hope of gaining over. These giveways are often fake.
In this age and time, I don’t think anyone can fall for such scams again. It is a very old model that scammers use to scam their victims and I think they should have upgraded by now because this is mostly known and most people are aware of it. Although we cannot still look away from the fact that it can happen. Money is not easy to be made, they rather persuade you in believing in them to scam you and that’s how this method is used to scam most people. 3. The disguise scammer: Some scammers claim to be the administrator of the popular crypto groups or as members of the team. Verify his identity before dealing with a group member of a group.
Deals through telegram groups mostly are susceptible to be scams because most of the scammers reside there. It is important to verify who you’re chatting with before engaging in any deal through telegram. When receiving a deal offer first through PM from an unknown person is more susceptible to be scams, so being careful and making sure you deal with the right person is the best approach to take when dealing through telegram.

Without brain a person cannot have brain cancer. Apply the same rule with telegram. Delete that sucker app and sleep in peace. Scammer 0 You 1 Case closed Not bad suggestion. If you're vulnerable to pimitive Telegram scams, maybe this app isn't for you. I have Telegram app, but only crypto related activity that I use this app for is Bitcointalk notification bot.
