Do you think referral-based competitions are more engaging than classic bonuses?

Hello! it does depends on many factors, in generals I belive when community is very active like in our case those events are really good to send back money to people who wants to help the growth of the website.
Referral-based competitions seem more interesting to participate in, mainly because the prize pool and the requirements that are quite reasonable.

However, with referral competitions quality matters more than quantity. The referred players need to be active and engaged with the platform not just sign up, make 1x deposit, and then disappear.

I assume there are additional requirements for referred players to be counted as active players in the competition.

I agree, referral-based competitions are definitely more engaging, especially when the prize pool is solid and the requirements feel fair.

That said, with referral competitions quality really matters more than quantity. There’s a big difference between bringing in users who are actually active and engaged versus people who just sign up, make a single minimum deposit, and then disappear.

In my opinion, the real value of a referral should come from ongoing activity: playing regularly, interacting with the platform, and contributing to the ecosystem

At least he does not try to hide the fact that he is part of the casino as what he shows publicly in his profile so I think he does it intentionally. I don't appreciate such practices. I understand that they probably want to bump their thread and try to attract gamblers to try out their casino. But I would expect them to declare at first that they work for Sunfirecasino and then talk about their product and reply to other forum users instead of responding to their official representative account. Even if the accounts are handled by the different people, yet I consider it talking to themself since they are appreacting their own product and acting as if they are player of the casino.

It is isn't difficult to create another newbie account and you never know if the both accounts are controlled by the same person. In the past we have seen projects hiring accounts to shill their services. Anyways these things aren't going to help increase the popualrity of the casino. They need to operate the casino in a good way and evenually they will gain the trust amoung gamblers.

I think it happens because they think the forum member won't be able to understand what they are doing. I have even seen casinos hiring a bunch of newbie accounts to post positive reviews on their announcement thread. Still, unfortunately, they ended up getting negative feedback on their profile, and all those newbie accounts got tagged too. If you provide a good service and you are fair with your players, you won't have to look for any reviews, the players will give you one if they are happy customers. I would recommend casinos to remain honest and not to engage in shady tactics.

Why are you talking to yourself or to your colleague?
It is obvious that you are a staff member of the Sunfire Casino. You did not post anything outside of the Sunfirecasino threads. All five posts are written in threads that were started by Sunfirecasino, and you even sent a merit from the official account to your account. Your profile information is filled with the sunfirecasino domain name. You are simply going to destroy your forum reputation by doing these shady things. Talking to yourself and sending merits to your account is frowned upon. Probably it is fine to send merits to your workers' posts if the post is worth it. But there is no reason why a casino staff will talk to casino representative account.

Fair criticism — and I agree that staff talking to the official rep account looks bad and can easily be interpreted as “bumping” or fake interest.

That said, to clear this up:

Raisero is new here and is still learning how this forum works (and how strict the reputation culture is — for good reasons).

Yes, he’s working with/for SunFireCasino and he was trying to help keep the ANN thread active and answer/engage, not pretend to be a random gambler.

There was no intention to mislead, but intent doesn’t matter much when the optics are this poor — so we’re correcting it.

Going forward we’ll do it properly:

Staff accounts will clearly state they are staff (no ambiguity).

We’ll stop staff-to-staff “conversation” in the ANN. If there’s nothing to reply to from real users, we won’t “manufacture activity”.

Merits will not be sent between internal accounts just to “decorate” posts — if something is genuinely merit-worthy, the community can decide that naturally.

We’ll focus on what actually matters: transparent updates, answering questions, and letting the product speak for itself.

Bitcointalk has specific norms and people protect them for a reason. So instead of jumping straight to “scam/shill” accusations, it’s also fair to help new users understand the culture — especially when they’re not hiding who they are.

To be fair we are all new here and we are still learning how things work around =) We don't need weird techniques to show how good our product is just trying to give more visibility =)

This is the answer the community likes, where you admit the mistakes, fairly tell us what happened, and you promised to correct it. Just for your information, even if there are no new replies, you can post about your casino events here, but the gap must be at least 24 hours. This will help you bumping the thread and the thread will come back to the first page. This is how other casinos have been posting updates on their threads and bumping them periodically. Usually social media managers handle the forum account too. Just be transparent and hear the community, you will learn everything day by day.
