What do you think is the disadvantages of gambling

A friend of mine that gambled and won told me that he will be gambling with money he won to multiple he's money, I looked at him and told he, that what he said is wrong concept in gambling, I told him to map out some amount for gambling and use the remaining for investment because gambling is not a sure something that you will be winning almost every time,

But he insisted that before the money he won will finish he will win more, so since he refuted my advice, then I let he go to do his wish, after one week time, he came to me and started blaming himself for misusing the money he won on gambling,

So from your own perspective, what do you think is among disadvantages of gambling with what you have?

I see that thing more as disadvantage for people which is greed. If someone make money from somewhere and think he can make more money from the thing, he will keep doing that thing. But gambling is not like that but a means to lose money. He has learn his lesson and I think he may not be greedy again.

I think you posted this on the wrong board; this should be on the gambling board and not the service board.
If a gambler thinks they are going to multiply what they have won before they can invest in business, they are the type of gamblers that the industry is looking for because they will always be given back to the industry what they thought they had taken from the system.

In my perspective, if there is any significant winning, the first thing to be done is to put a large amount of that money to good use instead of using it to chase more winning, as the chance of losing it is higher than the chance of multiplying it.

Some people doesn't know, that when you're pursuing wining in the gambling, you're like someone who is pursuing losses, because the percentage of someone to lose in the gambling is not equivalent to someone to win, wining is very slim losing in the gambling is quite assured,  so when we win in gambling, what needed to do is to win is to invest for something that you're sure that will yield positively in future.

I think the most obvious disadvantage of gambling is that you are going to lose money, no matter what. You will not win every time you play, sooner or later your luck will run out. He is positive though, you can admit to that, nevertheless it's the unknown that makes gambling very dangerous if we treat like a job.

And then others like it could affect us mentally, for me, when I lost big money, there will be times that I regret my decision that I should have used that money in other things and purposes. Worst is that you become a gambling addict, and then relationships got destroyed, you financially ruined yourself, and worst you could have done crimes like stealing just to fuel your gambling.

Is obvious that Greediness is one of the biggest disadvantage of gambling because it can lead to so many things which is going beyond your gambling budgets. let's take for instance you have $2 in your budget that's the money you intend to gamble with, but at some point you can decide to increase your gambling budget to $10 or even more as the case may be. Sometimes it could be due to the source that the game came from, most people can think that is from a very reliable source so at this point they have full confident over the game which is why they will go extra mind in their staking. because they have been convinced that the game is sure, so most gamblers will want to utilize the opportunity by going beyond thier gambling budget so that the outcome is going to be massive, without knowing that gambling is just a game of luck.

One of the disadvantages of constant gambling is that it's going to make you greedy... just like what you talked about the person who won and planned to stake back the money he won to get more money...This is just greed and if you don't learn how to control this habit it will.. another disadvantage of gambling is dependency, when they get addicted and obsessed they start doing a whole lot of other stuff like drugs and alcohol... The disadvantage is when we become emotional. We're too confident when we've won some money and not securing some, this makes us lose all of it when we're not careful at all and that's why it's best for those gamblers to experience the brutality of gambling when they are so full of themselves.

Human nature of greed, that's why everyone losing their money into gambling. It's not enough that we won money already. We will comeback and try to win more. So that is the very heart of it, people are not contented.

There is unrealistic expectations for most of us. Even I will admit to this, that once I hit, it will solved my financial problems. But it's not, it will just make it worse as you might start to borrow money from banks and individuals with huge interest.

It's hard to make someone to believe what we believed because we all are different people. What am trying to say is that the gambler will not believe what you said because he thinks that he will win more if he continue to gamble. Another thing is that if the money he won is big he will probably think that before he will gamble all the money, he will win another one (maybe bigger than the amount he won earlier). This kind of gambler will do anything you continue gambling because they have won bigger amount before, and they believe they will win another one if they continue to gamble.

Well, most gamblers have such kind of experience at one point and they will learn their lessons along the way. We can't expect every gambler to be disciplined even at the start. Usually, they will realize their lessons later on once they experienced heavy losses, and promised themselves to be more cautious afterwards.
If we will really look at the negative side of gambling, it will be a long list especially if the person has no control with this activity.

That's normal, I think. My friend does this: he uses the winning amount and thinks that he can win more. In fact, he won again, but the difference is that your friend lost it and now regrets it, whereas my friend stopped playing after he won again with the money he recently won, and he treated us to some food and drinks.

Greediness is something I notice in your friend's behavior, as it is in mine. The only disadvantage of gambling is that there are no guaranteed returns, so if you win, you should stop right away if you expect to make a profit, but if you are just looking for entertainment, you should accept any outcome, win or lose.

That is the main problem why most gamblers complain about their losses. Thinking that gambling could help them grow their money is a wrong idea. Since he is so greedy, he has chosen to lose all he has gotten, he has failed to understand the rules of the game that you don't chase more wins after another because you can't get it back, since he has not experienced it before now he has to, i think experience is the best teacher, he was told but refuse to listen.

I don't think I have seen anyone who won gambling sequentially, i think he needs to study more about gambling it will help him understand better, he would have invested with the win so that he will not be at a loss rather part of the income from the investment would have been used back into gambling .

The disadvantages of gambling is that, it can lead to financial problems, addiction, huge debt, emotional, relationship break down and social problems, families  issues with mental illness and health issues then suicide .

There are actually two disadvantages of Gambling, the first is thinking you can easily become rich by gambling with small amount of money been Wagered, many people have turn towards this gambling as a means to get rich quick thereby introducing this act of laziness into some people.

Sorry to say but your friend here clearly shows he lack proper risk management control. Yes there might be a probability of him making some wins before he exhaust his other win but the chances of him losing all is very high. That's because he has already had the mindset of all in and risk for risk. As a gambler you should be able to know when to withdraw your wins as soon as possible. You are lucky now doesn't mean you will be lucky the next round. Having such a mindset is only going to put you in more risk and losses as well..

This is the hope of most of the new players who are just starting to enter the world of gambling. and because of such high hopes, such short-sighted thinking and seeing that it is very easy to multiply money in gambling, this is what often leads people to become addicted and eventually lose money, more and more. This often happens, because some beginner gamblers may not realize that they are trapped in a circle of addiction and only focus on getting victory in the next round. while in fact they have already lost too much money.
