Pls don't misunderstand, just an assumption: if Bitcoin were to reach $500 again today, do you think people would still be willing to buy?
I believe there will always be someone who buys bitcoin, even if it is very difficult to predict the future. The normal money system is not completely trustworthy. Because Inflation and the unlimited new printed money that inflation gets a few percent every year. I believe that for these reasons there will always be people who want to own something else. Also bitcoin, gold, real estate, cars and everything else. So no matter what the price, it will be bought, even if trust has dropt extreme with a price of $500.

Yes, that's the thing.

There are many people willing to buy Bitcoin at different levels of price.

I don't think it is real to assume that the price can go to $500, because there will be such a massive amount of people with orders already placed at lower and lower prices, that are way higher than $500, and that would keep the price always higher.

If after all those people bought it and there are still more and more sells so that the price continues to go down to $500, I think that basically there's no one else around wanting to buy, which is probably crazy really.

No matter how much Bitcoin is priced, there will definitely be people who will buy it because if it is still freely available and can be traded, it is impossible for people to lose interest in buying it. The fiat system does have a much worse problem where inflation continues to weaken fiat in terms of storing value, so people will try to use something that can maintain value in the long term. Bitcoin and gold have been tested on their journey so people have the hope of growing the impact of losing the value of the currency so choosing both is the best way.

The only concern is that we can't buy because the price is getting higher and maybe the limited supply can make bitcoin even rarer in the future. I still believe that whatever the price of bitcoin is, it will remain an option and will continue to find a place for people to buy it.

In my opinion, it would have two implications. Firstly, it would likely have ruined many people's investments and life savings, considering those who bought in at $10k, $20k, or even $100k.
Secondly, it would reinforce the skepticism of those who don't trust digital currencies due to their perceived unreliability. So, if it happens, would you still buy it?
Firstly, I don't think bitcoin will drop in price and will fall to that amount but if eventually bitcoin price falls $500 some people will sell in fear while some people will see it as an opportunity to huy more bitcoin. I know bitcoin can be predicted but I don't think the price of bitcoin can fall to this amount. If bitcoin price falls to this amount I wonder what will happen to the crypto market in general. Falling to $500 won't stop people from investing bitcoin.

For anyone who tries to make a long time investment and have the patience required to sustain holding the coin, then you can also wait to see how far we can go with this recent bullrun, maybe the market will pump more further to all time high as above $200,000 or not, we are going to know between now and the end of the year, as long as we are able to hold and invest wisely, we should not fear or lose hope, because bitcoin got all we required for the needed confidence in cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin price may go down to surprise all of us but it won't go to level of 500$. We recently saw a dip where Bitcoin price went down to 75k and in current scenario that's an ideal price to buy Bitcoin. If someone is looking to buy Bitcoin at low price then he must have some cash ready to buy at such price. Towards the end of 2022 we saw price of Bitcoin around 15k and based on history of bitcoin we can see such price again in the future. Just keep your mind open for all possible prices of Bitcoin in coming days.

$500 is currently impossible, so for me it's very hard to imagine what I'd do in such situation. It's like asking what you'd do if your house burned down. Would you try to rebuild it, or move somewhere else? I can't say because I'd have to know the whole situation surrounding the crash.

You could as well ask if we'd buy $10k bitcoin because such fall is technically possible, while at the same time defying all logic and ending all the bitcoin long term predictions and the well known regression curve.

So, if we were to fall to $10k I probably would not buy because that would mean there's something fundamentally wrong with bitcoin. Either it was hacked, or we found out that Satoshi was really CIA, or whatever... At this point falling below $20k would be very scary as it would literally break the growth curve that bitcoin was painting for the last 15 years.

That's true, you'll notice it even in dead altcoins that there's still some community behind them that may keep trading. I know this is a completely hypothetical scenario, the OP also made it clear, but I believe that we're missing the point. If Bitcoin supposedly crashed that low, Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as we know them would completely change, while such a crash would require something significant to happen, that would also affect the economy in general.

Thus, it's safe to assume that we'll enter a phase of economic downturn, and in this scenario, it would be a long one. I personally would be so disappointed that there's a great chance I wouldn't fiddle with cryptocurrencies again. It took me about three years to be involved again after the 2017-2018 market crash.

Yes, I agree.

I think it's reasonable to expect prices going as low as, say, 25% of the ATH. But not lower than that.

That's because there is so much money waiting to be poured over Bitcoin with many sales ready to go if the price is right.

I don't think it can go as far low as $500 from the current price, which recently was an ATH.

No matter how low or high the market price is, there are some people that will buy BTC from the market without considering the price on ground, because they understand how the cryptocurrency market work to favour those that will have faith in their buying and hodling. The more inflation in the country the more the local money will be losing value, because inflation is among the things that increase the price of commodities globally, for people to find it difficult to achieve their want.

I agree with you that there is confident in BTC and gold investment, because their price normally break into new price yearly to create opportunity for their investors to earn good profit.

There are now many people who think bitcoin ist more valuable than gold in the future. Gold has always been valuable, it is basically just a piece of golden stone and we humans think it has value. What good can you do with gold if you dont have the tools to do it? It is maybe similar with bitcoin, of course, except that it is much easier to trade. The future will be more digital and bitcoin will be more valuable.

That is one of the reasons why in the future bitcoin will still be the choice of many people even though the price will increase due to increasing growth. Fiat is declining every period so saving is not the right choice, let alone talking about the increasingly unstable economic conditions that make fiat currency weaker. I am still quite optimistic and whatever the price of bitcoin in the future will be a much better choice, besides buying gold as an adjustment step that may also be the choice of many people.

Bitcoin is much more tested for future growth and being able to maintain value is one of its advantages that makes people more fond of having bitcoin. It is better to save bitcoin to maintain the circulation of the growth of the money we have to be better than saving fiat for any consideration process which is quite less than ideal.

You’re asking people on a Bitcoin forum if they would take advantage of the opportunity to buy bitcoin at $500? I don’t think there is anyone here who would think twice about making that purchase. Many of us who did not buy bitcoin in its early days regret it and are always on the lookout to see how we can increase our bitcoin hodlings. At $500, I could afford at least 10bitcoins.
Well, let's not look back too much. Today, such a price for Bitcoin seems completely unattainable. Here, it would be necessary to find an entry point in the region of $50k. Then it would be considered luck. I am inclined to this option, but it is unlikely. As I understand it, a major force majeure circumstance would have to happen for the price to fall so much. What could it be? A very good question. A collapse of the global economy? Possibly, but I don't believe it. Although, judging by the latest events in the US, all this no longer seems so illusory.

Many people will sell and never look back.

$500 is even too small, let something happen and keep price down to $2000.

You will see how people will lose their cool, every single assets in crypto space will feel the heat.

Even strong holders will have no choice than to cut their losses, including the big boys in the game.

Mind you, something that will make this to happen will be so catastrophe enough, something that have never happened before.

Wish I doubt will ever happen, now it's too late for something like that to happen, the value on Bitcoin now is comparable to that of Gold.

Gold is valuable not because we think it is valuable but because of its scarcity, use cases and practical applications. Gold is not only used as an investment asset, national reserve but also used as jewelry and in every industry from technology, medicine, food...gold is used everywhere. That is why the world agrees that gold has intrinsic value, unlike speculative assets, whose value comes largely from belief.

Bitcoin investors always talk about Bitcoin surpassing gold one day, it may happen because the future is unpredictable but if assessed fairly and realistically. That will hardly happen.

50k is a reasonable pullback.

500$ is the death of the market as we know it.

Before I can answer if I can buy Bitcoin if it dumps to $500 is if I will still believe  that it still has the potentials to skyrocket and beat it's last ATH before the slump. With everything that Bitcoin has achieved over the years in terms of adoption and being a store of value. I will say that it is next to impossible to see such a price again. But if it were ever to happen I won't miss the opportunity twice to buy as much as I can, some people will be skeptical as in it's early days but smart investors will grab as much as they can. People can speculate the downfall and death of Bitcoin as much as they want but it doesn't change facts that Bitcoin is becoming more valuable everyday.

Pls don't misunderstand, just an assumption: if Bitcoin were to reach $500 again today, do you think people would still be willing to buy?

In my opinion, it would have two implications. Firstly, it would likely have ruined many people's investments and life savings, considering those who bought in at $10k, $20k, or even $100k.
Secondly, it would reinforce the skepticism of those who don't trust digital currencies due to their perceived unreliability. So, if it happens, would you still buy it?

I would definitely buy into the amount I am currently willing to allocate to investing in Bitcoin, as this cryptocurrency has a number of unique qualities that not only other cryptocurrencies, but some assets in particular, do not possess. Based on this, the value of Bitcoin will still eventually trend upward, no matter what correction occurs for various reasons. And those people who bought Bitcoin at $10000$ or $20000 with a high probability will only try to buy more to reduce the average purchase price and not to miss such a profitable investment opportunity. But, of course, there will be people who will sell, because of such people usually low prices are kept during certain periods. And then comes the next cycle, when the price of Bitcoin rises and at that moment, they all start to regret a lot because of the lost profit.
