Pls don't misunderstand, just an assumption: if Bitcoin were to reach $500 again today, do you think people would still be willing to buy?

In my opinion, it would have two implications. Firstly, it would likely have ruined many people's investments and life savings, considering those who bought in at $10k, $20k, or even $100k.
Secondly, it would reinforce the skepticism of those who don't trust digital currencies due to their perceived unreliability. So, if it happens, would you still buy it?

If bitcoin were to drop to $500, it would reveal the cryptocurrency to be fundamentally broken in some way. However, with increasing adoption among institutions and nation-states, even if it were to be broken, there would be great incentive to fix it. I just see this scenario as extremely unlikely.

This depends on the condition of the Bitcoin market.

If there is still a huge volume of daily trade people will still look at this as an opportunity to buy BTC at a lower price.  The will always goes back to the history when BTC are at a lower prices and how it steadily uptrend through the years although it was not a smooth ride.

In my opinion, it would have two implications. Firstly, it would likely have ruined many people's investments and life savings, considering those who bought in at $10k, $20k, or even $100k.

I will still buy it but with the amount that I can afford to lose but with a certain market condition.  Just like what I stated on the first statement.  If the following are in a positive circumstance:

Market sentiment
Market trend
Volume
Loquidity
Community.

As long as BTC is not abandoned, has huge daily volume and good liquidity, there is always a chance for a comeback especially when the developer are able to solve the long time concern of Bitcoin scalability, and is still widely integrated and being integrated in the financial system.

Tweet that to Michael Saylor and see his reactions. You didn't mentioned though what are the circumstance first that will make the price go to $80k to $500? So that we can see your reasoning and if it possible.

And so it's hard to answer the questions without first understanding what event will lead Bitcoin to go this low.
What events can lead to such a price for Bitcoin? These can be critical, serious errors in its protocol. It is hard to believe in this now, but this is far from a reason for excessive confidence. Technologies do not stand still and are rapidly developing. I support the theory that something else will replace crypto over time.

Oh, Sailor will tell so many tales about the advantages of this coin that your ears will curl up into a tube. It is definitely not profitable for him to present this asset in a negative light.

If bitcoin falls to $500 from its current price of $80k, that would mean it declined to around 99%. Which is a very worrying number but if we look at history, that would not be the first time. There have been other times where bitcoin came crashing down for more than half of its current price. This one is an example:

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/7-biggest-bitcoin-crashes-history-180038282.html

But we can see that bitcoin still recovered pretty well after that and its decline had a reason which was caused by a particular event in the crypto industry.

It will definitely be a devastating news for everyone because for sure there would be people who would not have taken their money out and instead held on waiting for bitcoin to bounce back but instead they will just lose all their money. I would try to avoid that. I would have probably taken my money out at some point just to save losses but I would still definitely buy if it reached $500 especially if there is an explainable reason why it reached that low. and I think a lot of people would be interested again.

Ordinarily, bitcoin at $500 is a perfect opportunity to buy more bitcoins. But believe me, as humans, many will lose faith in Bitcoin or remain too skeptical to buy. $500 is such a deep fall. Many still won't buy even if bitcoin drops below $500.

bitcoin will not just get to $500 just like that without anything serious happening to either its system or the global economy that might have resulted in a ripple effect it experiences. Either way, the decision to keep buying even at that time will be dependent on what people still think of it. If there are still a lot of Bitcoin enthusiasts who are willing to stay invested even amid the DIP, then I will be more encouraged to remain invested. sometimes in making a key decision as investing during a major DIP, it takes more than an individual believe to remain committed in investing in an asset as Bitcoin. from an individual point of view, it will be generally hard to remain invested, but if there is an indication that a bouncing back will happen soonest, then why not.

Maybe not many people will buy Bitcoin at $500 because they will think that the Bitcoin era is almost over. The price will go down and sink in the dark.

But for those who see the future of Bitcoin, they will use that moment to buy and will not let the chance pass. But I admit that the situation will make panicking especially for those who just follow other people invested in Bitcoin.

I would still buy Bitcoin at that price. But I will take a look at the situation and if I don't have much money as a reserve, I will still use DCA method as a way to have Bitcoin and accumulate it.

Although I think it is not right for you to make such a comment, we believe that Bitcoin will never come to such a position, Bitcoin has already become a popular digital currency in the world where its value has increased greatly. But this digital currency may never come to this position as you have commented, and if it comes to this position, then the biggest fall of the crypto market will be when many will lose their courage to invest.

Those who have invested in the market from a high position will definitely lose their entire money if the market falls. And if it goes down so low, there are many investors who will be afraid to invest and those who are not confident will not invest. But the Bitcoin market will not go down so low, rather it may go down a little if it starts to fluctuate and at that time people will buy more Bitcoin. Moreover, if Bitcoin touches $50,000, many people will still buy it, because we have seen that the Bitcoin market had a target of $100k, which they have met. So in the future, it will go to a better position and the market will enter a double high from which investors will benefit the most, that is why every person will be more interested in investing in it.

Some people like to gamble, so if Bitcoin price fall to $500, there would be some people who buy Bitcoin using small amount of money.

It's very hard to imagine because before it down to $500, Bitcoin price will cross $70K, $60K, $50K, $40K and so on, with beliefs in Bitcoin chart which never lost if you hold at least for four years, people would accumulate Bitcoin whenever the price is too cheap for them.

Do this arithmetic for me; I have $5,000 projected for my bitcoin investment as at now and I am opened to Dca accumulating strategy which I have been buying little my little on every good entry based on my market survey.
So you help me on $5,000 ➗ 500, how many bitcoin it could buy.
10 bitcoins right? So you can imagine if I hold for a 4 years if bitcoin would still not it potential values and liquidation how much profits I will make.
But in anyway, bitcoin fallen to that point of $500 will only end imagining because the solidity of it marketcap won't let it fall so low.

According to the current crypto market situation and our price analysis, it never seems like Bitcoin's price could go this low. However the more bearish the Bitcoin market becomes, the more people will be inclined to collect, because many of us missed the opportunity to buy Bitcoin early in its creation. By the way it may not be a common thing for Bitcoin to drop to $500 because if Bitcoin reaches that level, many people may lose confidence. Because if the price of Bitcoin reaches $500, the value of all the investment portfolios of those who purchased Bitcoin at a higher price will decrease by a large amount.

If Bitcoin price dropped to $500 again many people would probably think about it differently. Those who invested when the price was higher might not want to buy again because they lost a lot of money or may be they sell in panic or may lose their trust on Bitcoin. Some people who do not trust digital currencies might think this proves it is not reliable. But others might see this as chance to buy in at lower price and hope value goes up in future and only those who believe Bitcoin will do this. By the way this will be their own choice. And if I will get this chance so I will buy almost 10 Bitcoin.

Not all would provably think about that since for sure it depends on the level of understanding of people.

If they don't have much knowledge about Bitcoin and they are for hype and profit for sure that they will be disappointed on that situation especially if they lose their money. For sure they pack their things up and go away because they think Bitcoin is not good for them.

But actually for knowledgeable people who deal with Bitcoin for long time and experience the worse also good situation happen with it. For sure they would buy Bitcoin since this is another perfect opportunity to acquire lots of Bitcoins then hold it for long time again. There's always a good chance that Bitcoin will pump back again since this is what usually happen for many times with Bitcoin for many years.

Michael Saylor would go bankrupt if BTC goes below a certain price point. His strategy is based on BTC going up consistently and that is a huge risk if the market would stay bearish for a longer time. Watch this video which explains the risks surrounding MSTR well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pF29eETxsRA

I'd much rather buy BTC directly or if that ain't possible (in a pension account) buy an ETF than buy MSTR stock.

I am speaking from my personal experience because when I invested in Bitcoin it was for the long term, because I knew I could lose as much money as I could. Because I did not invest here because there was too much demand, so I did not want to face problems with my investment later. Bitcoin investment has been reliable for a long time, so I think those who invested in it took risks and participated in the investment.
There is a real proof of this, after the destruction of the FTX and Luna platforms, when Bitcoin touched 15, people did not panic. So it is normal for the price of Bitcoin to fluctuate in the Bitcoin market, only I believe that weak holders will panic.

If bitcoin drops to $500, there's bound to be widespread panic, but :

- there will always be those who will never believe in btc and will say that the bubble has finally burst.
- there will be those who bought BTC at $80,000 (or even less) who will despair.
- there are those who will take advantage of the situation to buy back as much as they can.
- some companies will go bankrupt in a cascade.
- there are countries like El Salvador that are going to face a very big problem.

If I have free money, I will of course buy BTC at such tempting prices, but at the moment I've pretty much exhausted my stockpile of stablecoins so I'm almost completely in the market. In general, it seems to me that BTC will not be allowed to fall to the price of $500. I am sure that there will be many long-term investors who will buy BTC at $50000 and $30000 and $10000. Therefore, many people can only dream about such a price.

I would buy it.  I would give anything to be able to purchase Bitcoin at such a low price again.  Even if it never comes back up, it is a price I would definitely pay for a currency that offers privacy, freedom, control.

There would definitely be a TON of skepticism and maybe if such times ever come I would be skeptical too at first, it is a normal emotional reaction in my opinion considering Bitcoin needs to drop more than 99% to reach such a bottom.  At that point, for most of us everything we are holding right now become almost nothing.

As long as the Blockchain continues to work under proper conditions with no vulnerabilities or roadblocks, I am very certain it will continue to thrive even after a large drop.  It may need a long emotional recovery first, but unless a better alternative appears, I doubt it dies.

Many people would lose money if Bitcoin dropped to $500, and this would reduce the confidence investors have in the coin. Investors might no longer see Bitcoin as a reliable asset. Out of fear of the price dropping further, many might also dump the coin. However, there will be investors who will see it as a viable opportunity to acquire cheap Bitcoin.

I would buy it.  I would give anything to be able to purchase Bitcoin at such a low price again.  Even if it never comes back up, it is a price I would definitely pay for a currency that offers privacy, freedom, control.
The only way to easily recover what one has lost from the price drop is to buy more. I will also buy more if the Bitcoin price drops to $500. I might go as far as selling some assets to buy the deep.

Fortunately, not only that time, but many other times, and Bitcoin has been still alive in 2025 and its price is must higher than past "Bitcoin is dead" times.
When Bitcoin is about $100k or $80k, people hope to see prices like $20k, $15k in the past bear market, but if price falls to $15k, they will lower down their target entry price like $10k, $5k, and if Bitcoin plummet to $500, they will be fearful and won't buy Bitcoin.
