Believe me, most of these scam accusations are created by newbie accounts and brand-new accounts. That means, those members did not know about this forum. If they don't know about the forum, how can we expect them to check the announcement thread of a certain casino? Probably they found the casino from online affiliate website or from social media like X.

Once they get scammed, they search on Google about where to complain against the casino and then discover there is a forum where they can create scam accusations. This is what happens most of the times. But yeah, sometimes old members of this forum get scammed by casinos. It's because they do not bother to check the ann thread.

I don't have any doubts about your explanation, and of course I believe you. Also, I have asked a lot of victims how they did discover the forum and why they haven't read the announcement thread before starting to gamble there. The answer was as you explained above.

To be fair, some create an account here to make a complaint after they have been scammed. They discover this forum in their search for a solution, same way they can find a subreddit to complain after they have been scammed. Active users here, I would assume, would know how to rate casinos with presence here and decide which to play on.

There is also the huge possibility that a player can be scammed by a casino that is active here and with no significant bad reviews.

.You are right absolutely because most of the complaints that we have been coming across here on bitcointalk are all from brand new accounts, these accounts are created purposely to call the attention of forum members in trying to get the casino to pay them, so sure this forum has a great number of users that have already build knowledge, and experience through the engagement in this forum and this knowledge, will help them to overcome possible scams.

However, many gamblers outside the forum don't even bother to read the terms of conditions before gambling on any casino they like. And likewise many in the forum don't also get bothered to visit the ANN threads before going further to make deposit into the casino they fund attractive. The onus is on the gambler to check the site and its ToS, there is no question here.

If they landed up on a scam site and lost money or got entangled in their ToS leading to something bad, the burden is still on them. No one asked them to play on the site, they did it on their own free will.

I do expect the users on this forum to at least read the ANN, reviews on the internet and ask previous users of these sites before putting in their money. Those who are just starting out are in a rush to make money, cant help it.

Right, we cannot actually take action against a casino if it does not care about its reputation. Think about 1xbit. They don't care about their reputation on the forum. No matter if you leave a negative tag or do whatever you want, they will continue to scam people, and you cannot actually help those people who have already been scammed. People are still getting scammed because they do not check the reviews first.

It is not necessary to check this forum. They can do a Google search and of course they will get some results if a casino is known for scamming people. It could be Bitcointalk forum reviews, or it could be Trustpilot. I know Trustpilot is manipulated. BitcoinTalk is more reliable.

Before starting to gamble on a site, you can simply search their announcement thread here. If they exist on this board, simply read about them and see what others said. If they are active and supportive, then you can try to play there. Besides that, you may read their profile if they have negative feedback from DT members.

I agree with your opinion here. Most of the gamblers who got themselves into having issues with casinos were all at fault, they fail to read terms and condition of service maybe they were carried away by the bonuses and promos they got from the casino and failed to do the needful before attempting to deposit their money with them and after they had made deposit that is when it becomes clear to them that they have not really read through to see for themselves and by then it is already late for them to reverse what they had done already.

First and foremost, reading the ToS is very important, which I do not allow to escape me before I move further to register with a casino or website. I do this to be on the safe side so that I do not have to go through any stress in the future with them, because that is what it results in whenever such a mistake is made. It is better to take caution than to be in situations that would cost you resources when you could have avoided or limited them.

Most people aren't that careful and mindful while reading the casino ToS, and of course isn't that easy to keep reading the whole terms rather it's good to be that selective in reading ToS like those that truly affects the gamblers than reading all the terms, most times it doesn't make any sense keep reading the whole terms without even applying them.

Definitely true, I've know this site for a couple of years, even before join btt. They don't seems it be active in a way as most of the times while gambling on their site, you keep getting some kind of error but then requesting their support team on the site, seem to be a joke.  I was even surprised when I saw that they had their own Ann thread here on Bitcointalk with so many complains left unanswered. I don't think they wish to reply those questions left behind by so many others. I think they had some campaign thread a long time ago as well.

It's because they didn't read what they should have read from the start to avoid having problems or issues in the future and also if the platform does have a good reputation. It's not like we can make the casino pay their customers when they have a problem on if the casino doesn't care about theirs reputation so it's useless except if they do care about their reputation like what happened to other casinos that have scam accusations here in the forum.

This is a good advice in general but, as other members already said, it will help only those who already know about the existence of this forum unfortunately and I'll try to explain why:

The problem is that when users are doing a research about a casino or any other service they will usually use these keywords "service-name + review or something similar.
If we take Stake as an example which is one of the most famous casinos on this forum and has one of the most active ann threads here, if we google "Stake review", you won’t see the link to their ann thread on the first ten pages of results.

If you search "Stake scam" some of the results on the first pages will link to this forum. However, I doubt many people would use such keywords when doing their own research before using a service.

note: I used Stake just for the sake of example!

It's kind of lazy behaviour or willingly taking the risk. When a site or representative has much negative feedback, then it's totally risky to play there. I don't know how forum members use those kinds of risky sites. I know just reading the announcement thread won't help us to prevent scams unless we avoid it. For experienced gamblers, it's really a matter of an announcement thread. They will definitely read the thread and notice if there are red flags. Even we can see many forum members still using 1Xbet. We really can't prevent them from being scammed.

I just expressed the idea that was in mind. I believe that's how we at least could reduce scams and avoid bad casinos that have been really inactive for years here. If gamblers really don't care about such casinos, then we are really hopeless.

Well, most casinos that care about their reputation don't deliberately scam their users, their users don't get paid either due to a technical error or misinterpretation of some things, for example, when a user is mistakenly accused of operating multiple accounts where in reality, it's only one account the user is operating, or when a user is mistakenly suspected and accused of cheating in a game, where as the user didn't cheat..

When it comes to issues like this, once the affected user creates a scam accusation and his or she is able to prove in his accusation post that the he didn't commit the crime the casino is accusing him of, the casino after having verified the case will allow the user to withdraw his or her funds.
But scam casinos will refuse to pay their user for no just cause or reason, and sometimes, they come up with laim and unverifiable reasons or excuses.

So, I will advise to check their announcement thread before jumping on a gambling platform. You can ignore positive reviews by brand new users since they can be manipulated. At least try those who are very active on this board, and the team are supporting their gamblers. So it will reduce the potential risk of losing funds through locking accounts, etc.

If only they were aware of the existence of the announcement here on Bitcointalk. Additionally, people can check the scam report here and verify if the complaints are valid or check the internet for scam or bad behaviors of the casino they are interested in playing in.
Once gamblers are aware that there are bad and good casinos, and they are not influenced by their friends' recommendations, they will do right thing, and that is to do a research
