I think this can't be solved and people are just bored with ETH, same as me. Never really used ETH these days, whenever the word ETH come up to my mind I always associate it with needlessly expensive stereotype and slow as well.
I even used stablecoin in solana these days because it's just fast and cheap.

Maybe ETH need to do something to make their blockchain faster and cheaper, ETH still lively until today because people already too deep into the blockchain but eventually TVL escapes you know if there's less opportunity.
Now I see less and less opportunity of earning something in ETH blockchain.

Ethereum won't able to solve their problem unless they fix their scalability issue. These days ethereum tx still costed far expensive compared to the L2. It means it won't step up until it can offer cheaper tx than what L2 did.

It has also problem with its circulating supply which is increasing anytime. No fixed total supply, and keep getting inflated. It's hard to overcome those things at the same time. No progress or whatsoever so far. It's slowly dying.

So easy to speculate then say those words especially if you are SOL and meme coins supporter. But the question is on how does this coin or that scam token would surpass ETH? The fact is ETH foundation is well established and for sure that it cannot be erased that easily by those coins you mentioned.

Although I get your point that SOL is good coin but for sure it will just stay there and will not replace ETH on its current position. We already see the same sentiments or statements before on which many people from the past that ETH would also surpass Bitcoin and dethrone it. But many years pass still nothing happen that's why all of those claims is kinda BS for now and ETH will provably remain at top 2 spot for many years.

SOL overtaking ETH will not make ETH dead. The shift on marketcap just go to SOL but that doesn’t mean ETH will stop working anymore to be considered as dead.

There’s no way Solana will overtake with just a temporarily hype happening on their blockchain. ETH is the first mover on smart contract so it has a lot of loyal holders including big companies backing this project while SOL is once connected to scammer SBF.

As the issues pile on, ethereum will continue losing its place. And this is not a new thing, it has been going on for a couple of years now. But it is very hard for it to die because it still provides a platform to create shittokens to scam people with. And most importantly the pumpers aka the centralized authority behind it has millions of dollars to waste on keeping it alive.

The existence of L2 is to solve the problem of Ethereum transactions so that if we look at the gas costs are quite cheap. Although I don't like Ethereum but there are some improvements, not significant but still some L2s are successful, the rest are considered failed even the chain is not widely used and there are several L2s currently such as Optimism and Arbitrum showing success in solving problems that exist in Ethereum.

Right now Ethereum is pretty quiet, even in projects that are new to the crypto space, it is not chosen to be used as the network for their coins, instead what I often hear and read is Solana Network, Bsc, being chosen to be used.

And especially when it comes to meme coins, Sol Network is usually used and it is likely that Solana lost to Ethereum because of the cost of creating meme coins, even in other networks like Ton, it also surpassed the Ethereum network here in terms of costing to create coins. But I still can't say that Ethereum is dead because its volume is still easy in daily trading activity here.

we know that currently the solana ecosystem is on the rise, and many developers prefer to develop their projects on solana because of its speed, transaction costs, and good infrastructure for developers. but even so it does not make ethereum dead.. now ethereum is still the most popular altcoin and there are still many developers who run and develop their applications on ethereum. but it must be admitted that the development of ethereum is not as optimal as solana, and they should start thinking about this.

In terms of growth, it may even be greater than ETH, but in terms of utility, not so much. After all, what are memecoins for? What function do they play for the blockchain, besides speculation?

In my opinion, the Ethereum blockchain didn’t gain traction because of memecoins, but because of its features. Scalability issues need to be addressed as soon as possible, but it remains a major player in the cryptocurrency and blockchain market.

The Solana blockchain and the native token SOL are really promising, and I believe they can surpass ETH in terms of increased usage for the creation of “Dapps”, for example. It is a very competitive network. But it's not an “ETH (Ethereum) killer”.

Ethereum has operated with its "holier than thou" mentality but recently Vitalik and the Ethereum Foundation is starting to take steps to revive their ecosystem and I have seen a couple of initiatives being rolled out.

Solana grew so much in the last 12 months similar their team recognizes that builders will need head start and have been funding it.

The idea is if there are new, exciting protocols on Solana, capital will flow to it. Kinda like now pumpfun has dominated since it's launch.

Most new projects coming out now are always on solana network which has boost the use of solana. The transaction fee is cheap with a very low amount limit that you can send on the network compared to Etherum. I have never used Etherum for any personal reason. I only use it to tranfer my weekly pay from my stake account to my usdt wallet because Stake charges $1 to withdraw for all networks.

A lot of people had massive expectations on ethereum last year. With the ETF and bitcoin’s impressive growth, a lot of people waited on ethereum but it did not exactly shine the most among sltcoins. I wouldn’t say it’s completely dead now but it’s definitely not alive  either.

If we were to comment on Ethereum without looking at its price, there are really better ones in terms of functionality, there are indeed projects that will surpass Ethereum.
Whether it will be able to maintain its position in the future is a bit suspicious from my perspective.
Eth usage is very low these days, I don't remember the last time I made a transaction on the eth network. Meme tokens etc. are already circulating on other networks.

Every metric? What metrics are those? Only metric you mention is memecoins, which is just silly. Other one is "likely to surpass" metric which doesn't mean anything. And of course there are more of that crap when is near free to mint them and bunch of newbies falling for scams.

If you want to make a scam, i would recommend doing it in SOL because it has all the new, ignorant and greedy people looking for quick buck. I am not sure if that's a perfect metric. It might be.

I have no idea. ETH seems to be stagnant at this bull run, and the price of it isn't going anywhere. Whilst for SOL, we've seen how it went last year and the meme coins craze was absolutely crazy.

But looking at the trend for this year, are we seeing more of the memecoins? it's almost dead once again and they're no longer doing good anymore.

ETH doesn't need to maintain its spot, the community that it has got is still solid IMO and that's why even if SOL tries to dethrone it, that will take a long time before it might happen.

I wouldn't call it dead, but altcoin market is so diluted with the emergence of other altcoins and people prefer new altcoin because they think the newer an altcoin is, the more chance for it to do 3x.

I will only call ETH dead if it reached previous bearish season's atl and the total value locked is escaping completely. currently total value locked still at the number of billion dollars.
Restaking platforms also still have plenty of ETH being restaked.

But I wouldn't be surprised if in the future ETH will just go downhill.
