Since you cautious then I believe you will take time researching the do's and don't of the forum.

Trading is # investment and trading is more dangerous than investment.
If you invest and can hold your bitcoin for some years, you will have profit if the market continues like it was in history.

Risk of trading is emotionally enter and exit, then you mostly have loss with fomo purchase and panic sale.

If you use leverage or futures trading, you have bigger risk from liquidation. Many people lost trading capital in liquidations.

Curiosity is a good thing and you are right to mix it up with caution so you do not blindly jump into anything. Firstly do not follow most of the videos being shown online, they promote it like a get rich scheme and sell their courses or signals while those who buy them end up losing money.

Outline what you expect to get out of trading with realistic expectations and how long you are willing to spend in the learning phase which can be a really long time. Also check how much you will averagely lose along the way and even way down the line.

Trading without knowledge is highly risky. Take your time and don't be in a hurry, study and learn from people who have already been in this business for a long time.
Watching tutorials on social media and not studying in depth all the dynamics behind trading will lead you to lose money, so my advice is to study and then practice.
I'm not a trader so I can't really point you in the right direction but you've already been pointed to a board and some links, I'd start there in the meantime

First of all Welcome. Because you are just beginning it would be very helpful to learn about main parts of investing.  It is important to manage risks and difference between investing for long time and trading quickly. There is many good books and and online information that can help you with this.
Do not hesitate to ask questions here but start with easier questions and come up with step by step. People can help you find good places to get information and suggest simple ways to start investing. Just remember that everyone money situation and how much risk they can manage are different so what is good for one person might not be good for you so do not implement it on yourself.

First of all, I will say you are welcome to the forum, and it is nice of you to make enquiries before you dive into conclusions, learning about trading it's good, but it’s not as easy as seen on social media, and if you have the interest of learning trading, you might find it easy, but still you have to be more focused and also continue looking for enquiries about trading and how it works.

Furthermore, trading is different from investment in that trading deals with analysis on when to buy and sell so that you can get a minimum or even higher profit, but in the case of investment, the most secure cryptocurrency to invest in is bitcoin, and it also deals with buying either ones or using the DCA method to accumulate and hold for an interval of 4-10 years, which in most cases will get you a very high profit.

I consider the OP a hopeless case. One of the many we see around the forum, especially in this section. When he says this:

First before you invest you have learn about bitcoin just as you will not throw in money into a business without know about the business first, so it is with bitcoin. Welcome to this forum. You do a lot of research on any topic. I think it would be better to move towards investment rather than trading. Because trading has a lot of risks. In terms of investment, the odds are much lower than trading. If you are regular with this forum, I think you will understand by yourself. You are a student, I would say that first of all, find a stable source of income.

personal opinion. trading, if you are not expert in what you're doing is an error. this could just lead to lose some of your resources.
I have seen many "traders" waste crazy amounts... with bitcoin trading is not necessary, it's more profitable holding.
It's much much more interesting and profitable studying bitcoin and understand why and what there is intersting in this invention.
This is the real gain. Thre real profit.
Since you're a student you can have enough time (and "brain"!) to understand deeply this technology.

I would advise you to start by having a basic knowledge of crypto first before you move over to crypto investment. That way, you would know how to deviate in the market when it is experiencing an uptrend and downtrend movement. However, at this time, your focus should be on learning. After that, when you think of investment, it should be mainly on Bitcoin especially not on altcoins.

This write up is incomplete, what are you trying to invest your money on? Bitcoin or altcoins?

We need to know your intention, this is how we can be able to correct you or support you.

I suggest you start by using the search engine on the forum to find some old useful topics on here because many have been discussed in the past.

You can easily find info about how to start investing on Bitcoin or altcoin.

I suggest you start learning the difference between crypto wallets and the right one for your Bitcoin or your altcoin assets.

Buying Bitcoin is not the problem but safely guarding the assets is where the problem lies.

IMO one of the best advice you can get when you make investments into cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin is to avoid buying large bags at an all-time high price. Because most times after an ATH, the price of the asset generally tends to decrease and undergo a correction for a more or less extended period, rather than continuing to rise further. Currently BTC price is 22.5% lower than its ATH precisely. I think the range between -25% and -30% of ATH is a good target to start to invest seriously, so beginning to place small buying limit orders in this range doesn't seem to be a bad idea IMO. Anyway it's always important to DYOR(do your own resarch) before investing into any asset especially crypto ones and to have a good risk management strategy in order to avoid critical loss though. But above all don't forget the mother rule when you buy volatile asset : always only invest what you can afford to lose.

Entirely new to investment and trading, then you also said a cautious person, then trading is not a suitable path to start from, because it is risky and you can lose your capital in no time, and might blame the market and that's what most traders do when they are in loss.

Start with an amount that you are willing to lose, choose the right exchange and once you bought the crypto move them into a non-custodial, open source wallet. And keep repeating this process for a while then you will notice that the value of the accumulated bitcoins will grow over the period.

There is a saying that is quite popular in this forum, and it is that if you need someone to help you to trade or invest, then maybe you shouldn't be doing any of that, because you are definitely not ready. That said, if you are genuinely a newbie, then there is a lot you have to learn, you should forget about trading or investing for now, and try to understand what you'll be trading or investing in, and by that i mean understanding what bitcoin and crypto really is.
