My Gambling Fantasy, What's Your Experience.

Recently I had an experience gambling  which I felt I should  share to know if some other persons has had similar experiences too.

I was in a conversation with a friend who gambles and we taught to ourselves we could gradually build up some huge amount gambling if only  we can forget about hitting it big at a go and gradually build and within a period of time we could  actually  still hit it big at the end if the day . It came off as a very brilliant idea so we both bought into it and here's what the plan was. We agreed that for four days we are going to make selections that will sum up to 5 odds and for everyday we win our stakes are going to increase by 5x and then we will go all in with the whole funds won, so I made a rough calculation and by the end if the four days I was expected to make at least a  thousand dollars by the time I converted the money equivalent in my local currency to dollars.  I already fantasied the things I was going to get and how I was going  to get some electronics and new pieces of furniture for my apartment with the profits I will make from this.

Not to bore you with a long narration we lost it on the third day and I regretted not making some withdrawal after the second day and continued with some part of the profits, we were greedy I guess but we plan on making another attempt but this time we think of applying some withdrawal at some point and not go all in till the last day we proposed for the game.

So have you had similar  experience? How did you handle  it? Did you  try again? If yes what did you  do differently on your second trial?.

I have tried this strategy too and it definitely sounds possible when we discuss it but one thing i have realize about this strategy is that we don't necessarily need to go all in each day. If you want to have profit from this strategy, then try using only the capital or the profit made for the first day. Do it like that for the 5 days before you go all in. It is a risk you are taking but a least if things dont work out you won't lose your bankroll.

I also had that kind of dream in sports betting, at least make a roll-over in the next if you win. However, I was not lucky as in the second day, I already lost everything after my roll-over. Still a good experience though so no regrets and I might try it the next time. Of course there is regrets along the way, but it's the risk that we gamblers are willing to take and who knows, we could win it.

It was just a couple of weeks when I did it. But now I still stick to one stake per bet and no roll-over and just make a conservative bets. If I have a feel to it, then I might go and try this strategy once more.

I love this comment. Take profits and continue with the capital. A risk management strategy. The second risk management strategy is to not go all in each day. If the OP and his friend will try it again after taking some of the useful comments here I, think that the story will be very different. I have only had this experience once but it was from a loss and not a win. I am a champion of taking profit.

One thing about gambling is that, it's very easy for a gambler to make assumptions of how he or she has expect to win and the procedures he wants to follow so that he can be able to archive his preassumptions but gambling will completely rub disappointment on his face. No matter how you do it, no matter any strategy you decide to think of and apply it in gambling, just give it time and it will fail because it will not work all the time.

I am not surprised this happened to you, but I can pick out your mistakes here. First, you were greedy, you admitted it and I believe that's what happened, secondly, when you are on such adventure you don't need to bet on parlay. If you can bet on a game that is very likely to go as predicted, even if the game is giving you 2 odd, it's better than chasing 5 odds and then lose everything. So, you should have just gone for single bet and not parlay. Thirdly, when you are taking this adventure, if you win, always remove and keep separate some percentage of your winning and then use the remaining balance to gambling.

Regret always come at last, but you don't have to blame yourself too much, just learn from it and when you want to take such adventure again, modify your strategy and remember that losses are inevitable no matter any strategy.

You made a good plan by trying to go in small in pursuit of lesser profit instead of trying to hit the jackpot all at once, but the failure of that plan comes in when you consider using the won money from the little beginning to go all in, which is just like increasing your stake amount _{(greed has come into place)} in order to increase the profit from the next winning, which is a decision that possesses a higher risk.

I would have preferred not to have a limit duration of 4 days but rather a month interval with reduced risk, which would have increased the possibility of coming out with something.

Sounds like an accumulator, if at all possible withdraw the seed capital and then you can always try again another time whatever the result of the grand plan.   Ideally take the original amount multiple times then you are certain to have profited and because its multiplying upwards it wont reduce returns upwards too much.  Its an easy mistake, at least you had some limited success but now will have to save up again I guess.

You were really lucky to make it work for three days in a roll, considering you were playing with high odds and going all in (high risks involved). Now, don't expect it's going to be easy to repeat the same performance in the next attempts, as you also have chances of losing your budget through the process of chasing losses. At some point, even if you manage to hit a big win again, it might not be enough to cover previous losses anymore, so think carefully if you genuinely wish to take this plan ahead, and for what reasons you are going to do this.

If it's solely for profit, maybe there are smarter ways to recover the lost sum without risking extra money through gambling. To lose a thousand dollars hurts (even if it wasn't your initial budget), but it's not the end of the world too. You can recover it working with something else and by investing your hard earned money.

Or you can start with a parlay and if it won, then go to this strategy of just betting one stake per game, but you have to roll it over so that you can more more money or almost doubling your capital to a certain extend.

I don't think that there is emotions involved, you are going to base your bet on your analysis of the game and not just random betting. In the end it's all about the discipline as this what separates a gambler from a professional sports bettor.

Yeah, parlays could be a good option rather than going like four days in a row betting. Just pick like 3-4 teams for a multileg betting so that you can get a better odds and it could be similar results as what the OP wanted to accomplished. Nevertheless, there could be some sports bettor here who loves this kind of strategy of having to roll over the next game until they are somewhat satisfied with their winnings. So it really base on what we wanted to do, but at the end of the days, it boils down to our mental discipline to stick to our plans and not be emotional.

I think it could be that most of us have been using this strategy already to continue to play with every win. But the thing is that the risk is very high with this kind of strategy. Just imagine you are already in your second or third day and you already have a big win already. So might be better to just get the profits and not be greedy.

Because from the looks of it, you might have some regrets as well with this strategy and this is not for everyone. So for me, I don't do it, I just bet on a day to day basis and that's it, withdraw some winnings and then maybe continue or stop if I don't like the games so I won't bet on that one.

I wish that will easy to do especially in gambling. You can dream like that but you will difficult to achieve your goals because this is gambling where can make you win or loss. That is something you understand so you don't have to think much about double or triple your win and just gambling and take your time in gambling.

You don't know when you will win so it is better to take the money out from your account and take a rest. Don't think to continue gambling and trying to win more because that will not easy as before. As you know, the casino will not let you win more.

The thing you can do is take your profit and leave the casino. That is the best thing to do to save your win money and prevent the will to keep gambling.

We can fantasize whatever we like but realty doesn't consider our fantasies, when it comes to gambling, the reality is that we often lose more than what we win on the long run. I personally don't reinvest my wins into gambling by using it to place any bets because I don't want to see gambling as an investment. When I win I take the profit to enjoy myself, if I want to invest my profit it won't be in gambling, I can buy Bitcoin with it. Using profits to gamble in the hope of increasing it is like buying memecoins, you are risking the funds because you can easily lose it.

Both of you had a plan, which is good, but you didn't plan ahead about the winnings in case you had a good winning amount. This is where most gamblers suffer, the decision-making when you already have the money, but greed always wins. I don't blame you. You just want the largest part of the pie, but there should always be a thought of going back to start if you ever have a decent win. We all want that one-time big-time win, but the risk will be higher, and we will suffer from harder frustration if it suddenly loses.
