I make a budget like this:

My budget = (My income - bills -living costs -savings -emergency fund)*0,1

So in basic english, whatever money is left over after I have paid my bills and living costs and set some money aside, I divide by ten and that is my maximum monthy gambling fund. If I want a daily gambling fund, I just divide the fund by the number of days in a month.

And most importantly is that I stick to this. No adjustments.

I'm still trying to implement this where I'm serious about setting a budget that should be prepared when I gamble. I am quite aware that in the end the gambling situation is still a little difficult to leave because I still don't want it, but on the other hand I also know that I am a man who must be responsible for my partner and small family so I try as much as possible so that what I want to gamble is still done but does not burden the finances I have, especially in the current conditions which are indeed an unstable global economy that makes us have to try to get used to being more able to appreciate money.

This is not about winning or losing but I think this is a form of my responsibility so that my small family is still comfortable with a slightly secured financial condition and I can also still do gambling which always gives its own charm.

Setting a budget for anything that involves money is very good, and it will always be a great help for anyone who implements it in their life. If someone is spending money without setting a budget, it may easily lead to overspending on particular things that may not be necessary.

As you talk about setting a budget for gambling, it is really very important for each gambler to implement that so they do not overspend money on gambling. In fact, I would say that this is one of the mistakes some gamblers make, which easily leads them to gambling addiction. When it comes to budget then this is something that you do really need up to look out because you cant be able to find yourself having no problems if you do have that kind of control and moderation when it comes to spending. Usually people will be having that kind of problem at the moment that they do missed out or simply they've been that come irresponsible into the actions that they are doing specially when it comes to gambling budget. There's no problem as long you are that making use of the amount that you cant afford to lose because gamblers do usually messed up themselves because they've been that using up on the amount on which arent supposed to be used on gambling or lets say that they've been compromising into those amounts on which arent supposed to be used or arent supposed to be that gambled. If you are looking for fun and entertainment then its just that right that you do set out limits on how much you would be using. It depends on how we adjust from the ability of weekly/monthly income and it should not be more than 10% even there are people under 5% for gambling then it's good because a little may mean you can save a lot of money.

Because in gambling it's just for fun, so a small budget is possible, but everyone has different adjustments.

Making a big win or having a huge loss cannot alter my budget for gambling, since each time am gambling, what i do consider foremost is the amount to use in placing a bet and this stake will be what i can afford to lose and i cant be overconfidence in any game to go beyond my limit and ended losing, so i have a particular limit which i don't go beyond or below to gamble and then i take the rest for fun whether i win or not.

I don't have a specific time to placing money on my casino account, anytime i have money ot gamble, then i deposited the amount i know cant affect me, then use it to gamble doe a specific duration and once am done using it all, then i wait till i have more to continue with gambling.

My budget is usually the same and if I were a bit more wealthy it would most likely stay the same.

How do I determine it? I value certain amounts of money that I can turn into real things, for instance $1 is worthless to me as I can't buy anything with it. $10 on the other hand is a cost of a meal, or a couple beers. It has some value. If I were to spend $15, I'd be able to get a decent meal and a drink, so I usually bet that much, so I can eat and dringk while watching a match, have fun with friends and then have it all on the house if I win

It's a very simplified explanation but I usually bet $10 on a single match and it's enough for me.

How do I know ho w much to spend? It's easy. I don't bet on events I don't watch, and I don't have time or energy to watch games every day, so I usually bet $20 a week and it's enough.

Budgeting is one of those little skills that every adult eventually realizes they have to do in life if they want to feel stable. Almost everyone has the important bills that they have to pay each month like rent/mortgage, car payments, food, clothing and others. After all that is paid off, you might then have a pot of money spare of which you can allocate some towards "fun money" which you get to blow on whatever you like, including gambling. It should be proportionate to your wages and main bills, so if you're earning $3k a month you might have 20% left over and put $300 into a pot that you can spend on things like gambling, or take away food, or games. That is the responsible way to approach your gambling budget, but everyone has unique circumstances.

Either a win or lose doesn’t make me adjust my budget, if i win a huge amount of money, I still always maintain the amount which am gambling with, I know some people will definitely increase their gambling budget after winning a huge amount of money, but I don’t do that, I always maintain the amount which have been gambling before.

The only time which I know that I do adjust my gambling budget is maybe whenever I don’t have much problems to solve at that time, then I can decide to increase my gambling budget, or maybe when am having lots of things to cover up for, then I will reduce the amount which I budget for gambling for that period of time, and my gambling budget is always weekly.

I barely do that, and I think no one should. When I win big, I withdraw the money and then only have the same amount left for my budget and use the rest or save them for the future, and when I lose, I see no reason for me to change my budget because increasing it doesn't make me win more, and decreasing wouldn't make much of a difference since I only use funds that I can afford to lose.

I do it monthly, but I divide the whole budget into weeks then. For example, if my gambling budget for a month is $100, I allocate $25 for each week since there are 4 weeks in a month, and I don't go above that limit. Once I lose the budget for the week, I wait until the next week begins so that I can gamble again.

I believe the fact that I know I'm not going to beat the casino if I try with more money once I've lost the current budget. If I go over budget, using my next week's budget after losing this week's, I'm only going to lose that one as well eventually, so for me, that doesn't make any sense.

Some gamblers adjust their budget for two reasons;

1. When they have encountered numerous losses and are looking for a way to recover their losses, they can just increase their budget especially if the exhaust it before the targeted time.
2. When there is a huge win; Some gamblers increase their budget with the mindset that now that they have won a huge amount, they will adjust their budget such that they will now be betting with higher amount if they can also win big again but they forget to realize that the amount they won that huge amount with is a small amount and should be sticked to even if they win more.

The reason why we set budgets for gambling is to avoid irresponsible gambling by going above our limit so even if you win a huge amount, it is better to stick with your initial budget instead of an adjustment by going higher except you want to reduce the amount you have set for gambling.

It’s seldom for me to adjust budget after a huge win or loss, since my budget has already been fixed right after my  monthly salary comes. So from there, I just spread it out weekly so I can gamble once or twice a week, mostly during weekend. When a budget for gambling is set, it should be in percentage of your discretionary income, so that when you’re risking, it should be within the limit you are capable of risking and nothing added to that. What I’m referring to is that, you should only take a percentage of your income that is set aside for discretionary and take a percentage of that to gamble. Setting your budget and adjusting it as a result of your wins or loss can affect your total budget set aside for other things. When you’re riskin; let’s say $10 for gambling every time from your discretionary account, don’t because you made a big win of $100 to increase the risk, stick to your $10 monthly and only increase the amount if your percentage of discretionary income is above $10 spare aside from the percentage allocated to it monthly. While sticking to this, you’ll get an overall more profit than losses in the games.

I set up a gambling budget that will enable me be on track with my gambling activities and sometimes it's been adjusted maybe to minimize my constant habits and mostly it could be adjusted due to a loss encountered but regardless setting a gambling budget usually amount to some level of discipline and not going beyond your expectations.

Gambling budget can be adjusted always your income changes upside and down. If you were promoted on your job and are receiving a higher wage from now on, it's possible to increase your gambling budget as well. On the other hand, if you facing financial difficulties or extra sudden expenses, it's likely to be necessary to decrease the amount of money you use for gambling activity.

I believe gambling budget shouldn't be adjusted based on big winnings, though. If you won a big prize, continue sticking to your original plan, withdrawing the prize as soon as you receive it and coming back later with the same budget you did last time. Keep in mind that a big winning doesn't mean your income was raised, so it shouldn't affect your budget size, anyway.

This is based on my experience. Maybe I’m already a gambling addict, because even when I set a gambling budget, I never stick to it. And even when I win the amount I want, I always end up gambling it again and losing it.

I once managed to overcome it by keeping myself busy with online games like Dota and Mobile Legends, but I still ended up gambling the money I won. I really can’t control myself. I dont know why.

This is a critical sign of gambling addiction. The fact that you’re currently unable to stop gambling despite your wins or after setting a budget for yourself shows that you’re becoming addicted to it and you’re very lucky to have been able to notice it as a bad habit because there are other gmablers out there who do the same thing but have never thought of it as something isn’t right - to them it feels normal going pass their budget and also gambling back their wins and losing it to the casino.

What I’d advice is to continue with your gaming - after you end you gambling or you’ve won a good amount of money - switch to those games and try to use it to take your mind off of the money you just won. It should be able to help you resist playing back and losing your entire money back to the casino - if you don’t start gradually it’ll develop into a major problem that might lead to something even more severe.

I usually have budget to gamble although this is dependant on the kind of game I want to bet, for instance; if I want to bet on multiple bet like 4-10 legs and above I wouldn't mind using very small amount to bet because I know the possibility of winning of very slim. But if I want to bet on single bet maybe with an total odds of 1.8 or 2.5 I wouldn't mind adjust my betting amount to at least x2 or x3 of my usual betting amount because I have more confident that I could win the bet since the winning possibilities are extremely higher, but this doesn't in any way affects my overall monthly budget.
