BTC Dominance Drops - Is Altcoin Season Near

I have been observing the market and I see that BTC dominance is breaking.

Despite the price of BTC is dropping, and I can see that altcoins like solana is holding quite well and just dropped a little.

Could this be the start of altcoin season? Maybe BTC dominance over the market will continue to drop.

Do not fool yourselves with altseason that is talked about everywhere because no best altseason like 2024 that is coming. I will also advise you people to be careful for bear market not to meet your altcoins investment. Gamble with altcoins as they can be disappointing. When many of them rise, they fall but difficult to get to all-time high.

I have been seeing a lot of discussion lately that the altcoin season is here or it’s already coming upon us, but this is not something we can be so sure of until we see it on a full scale. Many believe that the altcoin season is coming and that we haven’t experienced that in this bull run yet, so after the market consolidations, it’ll work towards that part and we’ll record new all time highs for altcoins.

Another group, although few of them feels that even if altcoins are going to pump, it’s not going to pump that much and most of them are not going to break their current all time highs as they feel that already happened when bitcoin reached $100K+. Both may be right in their observations but time will really tell who is saying the right thing and making the best observation.

Op is probably trying to speak the alt season into existence or get investors excited to invest in some new coins.

he alt season frenzy is mostly used as a marketing gimmick by shitcoins to convince people to throw their money at them. A real project with value will be evident in any market.

Altcoin season was called many times in this market cycle but you can see when Bitcoin is moving closely to its ATH, how about altcoins?

Ethereum failed and other altcoins are down from 50% to more from their ATHs or even more terribly worse from their peaks in this market cycle that surely are not their ATHs.

Dominance of Bitcoin can drop but it's because more new altcoins were launched and contributed to cryptocurrency market cap. Additionally altcoin season exists or not, will you be able to pick good altcoins and get profit?

The fall of bitcoin price in the meantime doesn't make it lost it influential dominance. Bitcoin and every other cryptocurrencies is volatile and price fluctuations is part of it potential despites it has the potential of increments.
Check on https://bitinfocharts.com/ to see bitcoin and the Cryptocurrencies market performance and community adoption volume. AltCoins are just nothing without bitcoin because they derives their market behaviour from the bitcoin. Then I'll say I don't even realize any season recommended for AltCoins because they can't do it their own. Moreover, investors invests major values in bitcoin while AltCoins is alternative meaning it's less adoption rate to be compared to bitcoin.

You may be mistaken. You do not simply look at the price of a coin and if it doesn’t drop as much as bitcoin’s then it means it’s more dominant lol. Bitcoin dominance is calculated by dividing Bitcoin's current market capitalization by the global crypto market cap.

You can see bitcoin’s dominance at 61.7% easily in coingecko’s platform. That is far from what you would call a dropping dominance.

After the bitcoin bump comes the altcoins bump, or at least thats what i have see in the past years, is how markets works, but as always when we talk about the markets is all about speculation, we don't have a crystal ball to predictor the future, but if you así me if right now is a good moment to invest in altcoins i works say yes it is.

I think that certain coins just start to move and run up so quickly and randomly that you can never truly predict this. But at some point at some random time the alts will pump up real quick and then go right back down just as fast and it's always seemingly happening that way as or late.

I don't think this will happen right now.
It seems the altcoin sentiment has followed the Bitcoin trend.  In fact, altcoins usually follow Bitcoin’s trend and often drop in price even harder during BTC corrections.  I would prefer to stick to Bitcoin investments rather than altcoins, which are very risky.  We don't know which altcoins currently have the potential to hold and wait for a long period, unlike Bitcoin is very safe.

Don't fool yourself with an altcoin season, it might trap you in the end.

It's best not to think of these altcoin seasons anymore. If you're holding mostly altcoins in your portfolio then you'd just wish that you have any other plan on how to get well on this bull run. If this year ends and nothing happened to your alts and you've just lost more money, you'll have to wait until the next cycle comes and that is because you didn't allocate your funds into Bitcoin.

When all we see are people rushing to invest in bitcoin, not to mention those big financial institutions, how can you tell then that btc dominance is dropping? Don’t get tricked with altcoins, their season will probably not happening at all seeing despite of bitcoin price drops, still it managed to recover quickly so bitcoin bullish season is still here to stay.

Altcoins may be profitable but they’re just few ones, so it’s hard to speculate that altcoin season is coming, when bitcoin is still skyrocketing to the moon.

BTC all-time high was about $109K today BTC price is $96K, Solana's all-time high around $295, today solana price is $147, Now tell me which of the two coins has dropped in prices significantly?

It's hard to say, knowing that the prices in the market are volatile. I believe it is important to check the USD dominance as well because currently, the USD dominance is really strong, around 3% near the support from the bottom. If this continues and goes down, Bitcoin would rise in price to around $99.5k, nearly 3%.

So, it's better to check Bitcoin and USD dominance to have a confluence. It could not directly affect altcoin prices, but it's a start.

how could you even make such a statement that bitcoin dominance over the market will continue to drop, as far as cryptocurrency is concern bitcoin will keep on dominating the crypto space and no altcoin can take the place of bitcoin.

Honestly I expected the BTC dominance to reach 71% first. As of now, there's no obvious sign of BTC dominance dropping, just a slight correction, it even bounced back from support. So, I don't think I agree with your statement.

Moreover, I also expected that we won't be seeing altcoin season before BTC reached another all time high. But who knows right, all of these are just speculations.

Where is the drop on Bitcoin dominance?

That's the chart of Bitcoin Dominance on a daily basis, and it's pretty obvious that it's going upwards. If you will look at the performance of the top altcoins in the past week, the price of Bitcoin went up significantly, but most of the top altcoins went up, but not as high as what happened with Bitcoin. That just shows most of the money is going into Bitcoin hence, the increase in Bitcoin Dominance.

Bitcoin's price is dropping because we need a bit of a correction after that sharp pump. As for the altcoin season, it might happen, or it might not. One thing that you might observe is the Bitcoin dominance. Once that goes low, it's a sign that most of the money are going into altcoins already hence, a POSSIBLE altcoin season.

Have you tried checking the market today? Bitcoin remains strong and trading above $96,000 and DOM continues to break ATHs, while altcoins continue to fall further. I see no signs that DOM will drop in the near future and will even continue to rise higher towards 70%.

I don't know if altcoin season is coming or not but with the approval of ETFs, along with the participation of top financial institutions like Blackrock or Strategy, everything has changed completely. The money flow is only focused on bitcoin and it keeps breaking new ATHs since 2024 till now but altcoins keep finding new bottoms. I think it's time we reconsider our altcoin investments instead of stubbornly believing that history will repeat itself.
