Pull isn't big enough. You need to remember even with big drawdown in 2024 Q3-Q4 if i remember correctly, bitcoin's dominance can still go up out of the blue.
I identified that the problem lies in the fact that institutional investors, the main player that moved bitcoin price aren't rotating their money to puny alts.
Instead they stayed bitcoin maxi. We are in different era, it will be awhile until we see altcoin from my prediction.

Bitcoin drawdowns (in a bull market) are different than Bitcoin dominance drawdowns. Sometimes they are the same when Bitcoin has corrections, sideways and give time and opportunities for altcoins to have mini altcoin season.

Q3 and Q4 2024 are times like this for mini altcoin seasons but months later, Bitcoin is going to retests its ATH while most of altcoins are 50% or bigger % down from their peaks in Q3 and Q4 2024.

Are we in a new era?
Somewhat I think so because altcoins are too easily created by scammers and those scam projects add overwhelming new choices and a lot of market caps. That means if cryptocurrency market lacks of enough new capital in, most of altcoins will not rise even in bullish months of the market. This market cycle is different than past cycles when there is higher percent of failed altcoins in bull run.

That might happen but you have to look in advance that Bitcoin needs to stay above $ 95K to trigger a very bulissh market rally we don't know until Manabitcoin will continue to penetrate and have a more comfortable sidewaysh pattern for market adjustments to Altcoin.

BTCD has always been an indicator of people to judge Altcoin, but it doesn't seem to be like that, people will take their position again if they are truly confident, some of these mingu are Bitcoin in the main focus because the institutions that continue to enter and make Bitcoin as their strategic assets.

Honestly I expected the BTC dominance to reach 71% first. As of now, there's no obvious sign of BTC dominance dropping, just a slight correction, it even bounced back from support. So, I don't think I agree with your statement.

Moreover, I also expected that we won't be seeing altcoin season before BTC reached another all time high. But who knows right, all of these are just speculations.

Bitcoin dominance as projected on CMC is 63% and I don't think it has gone down significantly. Price of Bitcoin is near 96k$ and it is also very much bullish as compared to it's price in Start of April 2025. We are expecting that price of Bitcoin will once again cross 100k in current bull run. Given the circumstances I am of the view that Bitcoin won't give space to alts to dominate the market. For now we can assume that alts are tied with Bitcoin price and will go up only if Bitcoin goes up.

Bitcoin dominance moves up and down all the time. It doesn't mean it is moving down, the altcoins will rally. Are you still expecting an altcoin season? For me, an altcoin season is not near, and it will not also be coming.

Bitcoin is expected to rise higher in the days to come. Adoption is faster than ever especially with the recent development in the US. The government's friendly treatment of Bitcoin is a big sign that institutions are coming in, big money is coming in.

Don't be deceived by the altcoin season of some set of social media mainstream influencers making you think that altcoin has season. If I were you I wouldn't be deviated from Bitcoin investment to some altcoin. The logic is that Most people are trying to promote altcoin to gain attention and leading to massive adoption of that coin, for more investors to pull out money from Bitcoin to invest in such coin to increase the value of that altcoin for them to have an increased portfolio, because they have invested in that coin and yet no mass adoption so doing this will increase their chances of making profit. In the world of cryptocurrency anyone or group of people can decide to influence a coin to have a push and after that push they make alot of profit and dump the coin. So don't be decided by those words.

I am not sure if this is the start of altcoin season. It is because many altcoins is down while some of them are still stand at their price. Maybe altcoin still waiting for Bitcoin reach $109k first and then altcoin will take the domination and increase the price. We can see many speculation about altcoin season while we don't know for sure.

We can only wait and prepare the altcoin that may increase. We dont know which altcoin that will increase although you can stick to the top 10-25 coins lists. But you need to stay aware because sometimes, altcoin that is not in the top can push the position to the top 25 coin lists.

Anything can happen in the crypto so there is no other way except prepare for anything that will come. We need to be careful to decide especially if that is about buying altcoin.

If you ask this to bitcoin maximalists. Don't be surprised when they say it will never happen because they don't invest in altcoins, altcoin season doesn't give them profit so they don't like it. But if you ask this to people who are investing in altcoins like you, they will definitely have a strong belief that the altcoin season will come sooner or later.


I invest in some altcoins, so I also hope there will be an altcoin season this year or maybe next year. But even if they don't come, I'm fine with it because that's the risk of investing, especially altcoins, it's no different than a gamble.

in january bitcoins peak was $106.5k and today its $96k which is a 10% drop

however
sol->btc was 0.00252 and is now 0.00152, which is a 40% drop converting to bitcoin
sol->USD was $261 and is now $145, which is a 45% drop converting to USD

so on what measure are you saying that bitcoin dropped alot and solana only dropped a little

if you bought 1btc in january for $106.5k. and just held as btc and sold today its only a 10% loss
however if you converted it straight to sol(396) in january. and then sold that back to bitcoin today. (0.6btc $57k) 50%+ loss in $$

I don't want to disappoint you but I think you should forget about altcoin season, things have changed in this cycle. Unlike previous cycles, money will flow from bitcoin to altcoins after bitcoin peaks. In this cycle, with the entry of bitcoin ETFs, all the attention is on bitcoin, the money is concentrated and revolves around bitcoin and bitcoin only. That is why the bitcoin bull season has started since early 2024 until now but most altcoins are very gloomy and even continuously dumped while bitcoin is still rising.

We need to accept reality and face the fact that things have changed, altcoin season is not coming and this is the cycle of bitcoin.

Yes, it’s definitely an interesting situation right now. If BTC continues to lose dominance, it could signal the start of altcoin season. But it’s important to remember that the market is very volatile, and a lot depends on external factors.

Yeah, there was a drop of Bitcoin Dominance indicator in the last few days: from 64.9% to 64.7% (according to this TradingView page, some other portals may slightly differ or not show any drop at all).

But at the start of April, dominance was actually below 63% according to the same source.

I believe there are currently no indicators of an altcoin season. However, I disagree with others that there will be no altcoin season in the coming months.

Usually the strongest altcoin season is located at the end of a Bitcoin bull market. The mechanism is quite easy to understand: When fear about a potential BTC crash increases, people seek to squeeze out the last bit of profit from the crypto market as long as they can moving into even more riskier assets - which are altcoins. This can and will very likely happen to a certain extent.

I believe however that the altcoin season will be weaker than in 2021 (and MUCH weaker than in 2018), and in fact I expect the Bitcoin dominance to stay firmly above 50% or even 55% for the next few years. The main reason is that Ethereum has become weaker in the past years. And in addition there are no new altcoins really having exploded in this cycle as much as in previous cycles. Yes, we had Solana and XRP bull markets but these coins were already around and relatively strong in the last cycle. You are right because we even don't know when altcoin season come. So with careful to decide and always analyze before decide will help us to know what exactly happen to the market. We can just make a prediction what will happen but we don't know for the right thing that happen later.

Alts are where the liquidity pours once BTC reached its peak - because people want more, but they can't push BTC longer, thus, they are going for the - next big thing -, and after alts cannot do that - they go all out in memes and such
