Here are some top banks in Nigeria that are crypto-friendly and may facilitate Bitcoin transactions:
Even if the bank claims to openly be friendly with cryptocurrency, you have to be wise and careful in this our country, where you know that the government is against cryptocurrency and can suddenly launch a manhunt for people involved in cryptocurrency, and the banks will be the first institutions that they will tax with providing names of people who have made transactions regarding cryptocurrency. One particular reason why you should be careful about trusting any bank is because even though they claim now to support cryptocurrency, they are still under the institution of the government and will act in accordance with whatever the government demands.
Banks and government na the same people, entity, body or whatever, these set of people never love what breaks their ego and these people love it when citizens dance to their tone than even money. Banks and government are very sensitive and intelligent to entangling people to work for them and receive peanuts from them, so if they are claiming to be involving themselves in crypto then that's a bait to hunt out their victims. If you are caught using crypto in a business transaction then you'll see whether them be your friends or not, you'll pay for it.

It's always advisable to keep clear from bank and government when relating to cryptocurrency untill further public announcement is made to now accepting crypto in any their services. Infact, if such news is made then they going to come with a huge regulations that would favour them more than the users.

These banks have shown a commitment to embracing cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, making them potential options for Bitcoin accumulation and transactions
Although recently The Director General, Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission, Emomotimi Agama said that trading crypto currency in Nigeria is now legal, I don't think if our local banks have integrated it into daily transactions. We will know it very soon as it will be a rrt good thing to know but I will never advice anyone to store his or her crypto with any bank even if they approve it soon, use your wallets either cold or hot and only do transactions with them from your wallet to pay bills or make exchange.

Trading crypto is legal in Nigeria according to Emomotimi Agama  but that doesn't mean banks can do otherwise if there's any crypto related words in your transactions description, they will certainly freeze your account and report you to the  CBN.  The only time I can acknowledge bank as crypto friendly is when I receive a memo from my bank addressing me that Crypto related activities in transactions is no longer prohibited. The CBN have to remove the standing orders given to banks to report any crypto related activities in other to  bring transparency and to encourage Bitcoiners to trust in the government Words that cryptocurrency trading is now legalized otherwise I won't believe them.

Honestly I don't buy this instance. They only way I would is if you could provide solid evidence and proof that the said banks are actually in support of crypto my making supportive or enthusiastic moves instead of just make talks about it.
I don't know if you are familiar with P2P trading but there was a time where people were advised to note leave notes when they bought or sold crypto and also to avoid odd kobo values because of the rate at which banks froze funds suspected to be from crypto transactions.
Infact wen OP start dis thread and I see am I get my doubts about di authenticity of di news, dat na why I no de in a hurry to make post for inside. I say make I watch and see how our people go respond to di matter first before I go make my own comment, make I no go de criticize wetin I no de sure about. But so far from di comments wey I don read so far, nobody de sure weda na authentic news because if our banks begin to facilitate crypto transactions e go be trending news.

Our government no ban cryptocurrency but we suppose to de use sense de do our p2p transactions by not mentioning anything cryptocurrency for di transaction description. Dem fit to flag your account for just mentioning cryptocurrency, so we need to de very careful. Abeg we suppose to de verify information very well before we go share am for forum so that we no go unintentionally mislead other members.

From all indications so far as suggested earlier from most forum members, it is obvious that this claim of banks supporting crypto currency transactions is fake. Reading through several platforms and still couldn't find any related stories. Anyone can put up any fake news for a selfish interest, your ability to spot and identify it's legality is what differentiates you from ordinary people out there. I encourage anyone creating a topic to carry out a critical research on the topic before creating it to avoid crowding this our local board with deceitful topics that could lead members into trap.

Nigeria banks supporting cryptocurrency? I don't think so because cryptocurrency have been restricted in the country although the new government uplifted this ban but that doesn't mean cryptocurrency have been accepted generally in the country following some strict measures. I've compete with quite some tangible scores and I must confess, we do what we need to do stay put and on a right lane.

We should thoroughly make research about this phase of crypto involving the general acceptance from Nigeria banks before making moves for any sidelines news. Infact topics in this forum ought to be crucially studied before been accepted and knowing what we can do for ourselves.

Since banks are not fully allowed to use cryptocurrencies, I think it is better to use P2P. By using P2P is still in a reliable position to protect against any kind of banking restrictions and legal complications. As far as I know, the central bank has still allowed the use of cryptocurrencies within a regulated framework. Since the allegations of money laundering and tax evasion against Binance last year, the central bank has sent a message to all concerned to be more careful. Any decision should be taken considering your own safety.

There should be a more stringent approach to sorting out topics that are misleading, inconsequential and unfounded. There are many people that depend fully on this forum for information. We can do better by verifying before we post.

I don't know when did this new updates took place because the last time I checked, banks were warning customers not to use accounts for anything crypto related to avoid freeze of account. Maybe, these banks just wrote it and haven't started operating on cryptocurrency. I will advise you not to use your bank account to buy crypto directly but use p2p trade to avoid trouble.

I wonder too because no Nigeria Bank is crypto friendly, don't allow any blog or publication to deceive you. Any Nigeria bank that's being used for crypto related transactions will be blocked and you might get investigated for money laundering. What I'll consider banks that are crypto friendly are those with swift transactions because you'll need that to confirm your trades when you buy or sell crypto through P2P and not banks that'll debate you but won't process your transaction until hours later.
All those things na just mere formalities, one thing about Naija govt be say them too like formality, and media's too dey help to dey publicize these kind of things. I dey also dey suspect say the reason wey them fit dey mostly do these kind things openly na to set trap for some crypto users, make them fit dey catch those ones wey go attempt to use their bank for crypto related transactions come still specify.

No be today we know say all these our govts, lawmakers and even banks na lie lie and thieves, people like us don already dey used to them and also the unauthenticity of some kind news and information wey media dey carry, na only people wey dey naive fit fall for those kyn things

I don't know how reliable this information is but I know that there is no bank in Nigeria that will go against the directives of the CBN. We know that as of today, CBN have not been clear about their stance on cryptocurrency, there was even a time rumor had it that they sanctioned Opay for allowing cryptocurrency transactions.  This and many other actions of the CBN makes it dangerous to trust that any bank in Nigeria will support cryptocurrency when the CBN have not given a clear directive. My simple advice is that you should be cautious of how you perform transactions that involve cryptocurrency and never use any crypto related work in the transaction description, at least for now until we see the direction of the CBN and the SEC as regards to cryptocurrency. One thing is certain, they can beat about the bush as much as they want but they will eventually realize what they are missing fighting against cryptocurrency. Imagine the taxes that the Nigerian government would have realized from these exchanges if the had enacted crypto laws that allow Nigerians to use cryptocurrency freely?
