I was watching a video on the neighboring network, where a young asked the following question:

What have you lost the most money on and still regret it to this day?

So I looked at the comments and most people said that they regret losing their own money on bets, and one of them even lost 30 thousand.

So this topic came to my mind with the current question: Have you ever lost money in any way and still regret it to this day? Have you ever gambled or bet and still feel guilty? If so, tell us a little bit... If possible, give us more specific advice on how to gamble without losing a large amount.

Although having regrets won't change anything but as humans there are some certain things that we will always feel. We have all dealt with losses, mine was on casino games and my only regret is knowing casino betting. My losses were a bit minimal on sports betting till I played casino games for a while. Regretting isn't going to change the past but you can definitely do something to fix the present.

the best thing to do is to digest our regrets and accept things have changed, letting go is an exercise for life
life has so many things and so many dimensions, money is just one of them, of course we usually get happy when we win and sad when we lose but this is all transitory, better being chill in any situation

Actually its easy to say but when you are on such condition or situation then it will be just that too hard when you are on the actual thing but well it will be still that depending on a certain person because not all will be having that good control and moderation when it comes into that aspect. There are just that those individuals who are that wanting to have fun without minding much about on how much they have lost or simply they could be able to move on and chill out whenever they are on a losing streak., If you dont know on when you do call it a day then it will be something that will be bringing out that devastation when it comes into your finances. Regrets do always happen at the end and if you arent that good on minding about your actions then most likely you would be ending up like this.

Of course, all gamblers most have lost a certain amount of money that will make them feel bad during that period but that doesn't mean that we should continue in regrets only if it has affected your life till date. A few years back I put a significant portion into a crypto token based simply on hype without doing sufficient research and it tanked badly. It wasn’t gambling in the classic sense but felt just as perilous. The regret hit me not simply because of the money but because I rejected my gut. Since then I always establish a fixed amount I can afford to lose before putting any bet or investment. It helps mentally to approach it like a movie ticket or night out money. Once it's gone, it's gone and no chasing losses.

Usually, almost every time we don't follow our intuition, we regret it later, not just in financial matters, but in everything, in terms of decisions, relationships, even whether we should "accept everything we're told." It still makes me go crazy when people will say that they have lost money the most on gambling, I think this is just psychological because before gambling they already believe the money is gone even before the event has taken place. I know a guy who spent huge money on buying a car that he only drove for a few weeks before it broke down but he would still say that gambling is where he has lost money the most.
Even people who have lost a lot on failed relationships, scammers and other things will still claim that gambling is where they have lost money the most, I will even go further even drug, alcohol, gaming addicts will still claim.
The truth is that psychologically people feel better when they blame gambling for their situation.

That's human beings for you. They seem not to talk or remember what they have spent a whole lot on, but once it is gambling they remember every detail of it. How they bet a huge money, and it shattered their emotions after they developed a hope of winning. I have noticed that we humans can spend money whether big or small on our wants, to easily letting go of it. But once it is gambling we keep talking about because we have hoped on it for a win, to at least utilize the money won on something else.

Not withdrawing my profits when I got lucky on several occasions during my beginning stages of gambling. It's a lesson that people should always learn from others, profit isn't guaranteed in gambling but whenever you have the opportunity to get them make sure that you take advantage of them. Withdrawing your profits is one way to reduce the level of losses you incur. Instead of regretting just be smarter.

Nowadays, people don't think about how intelligent they are anymore, do they? It's like I said in a comment, there are people who don't think about right and wrong, they simply do things without questioning themselves first, because it's always good to question yourself before regretting it later.

I regret most times, because I refuse to obey the limit I have set for myself,  both in time and bankroll which made me spend alot and end up losing more than being budgeted, that is o decided to chase my loss instead of controlling myself I didn't, after placing a bet, l almost won, I was close to winning, hopping that it is time to win, but I was so stupid to change my calculations of which if I have played it the way I set it before I would have won, but had a different taught at the dieing minute which I changed and end up losing, which I continue playing instead of quitting, i refuse to accept it that I have lost the game, until I exhausted all the money I went there with, money made for something else, that was where it was done on me that I have lost the game and can't be retrieved,, I was forced to accept it which I later came in terms with.

That is pretty much a good multiplier for anyone who has such a relatively small bankroll to gamble, in my opinion. I have a similar size of bankroll, and if I managed to get X10 in a single session I would try to withdraw at least half of what I have earned and spend it on Bitcoin or Ethereum.
Though, ironically I know I would feel cocky after getting such a win and I would eventually log into my account and try again, which is the mistake every gamblers does when comes to bankroll management.

Don't beat yourself over it too much, if it happened three times already there will be a fourth one, and when it comes, you will be ready to withdraw on time.

There is no regret if we gamble within the limits we have agreed upon. I never mind losing on my own choice, for me it is part of the game that cannot be completely avoided even though I have analysis and skills. Luck and skill are a good combination to win a bet, but when it is not my lucky day, then there is always a reason why I have to accept defeat. So, there is no regret.

It is so true that if it is not our day, we have to accept that day isn't ours and we have to move on and look forward if the next day will be better. If that's not coming to us and it's hard to accept, then more losses are about to come to us. I do not regret losing in gambling because I know that there will be both wins and losses. People have emotions that create a situation of regret if they lose. But if gambling is managed under control, then no situation of regret arises whether it is a win or a loss. I am prepared to lose in gambling but when my loss is high, even if my regret comes, it is temporary. Because I know that even if I lose today, there will have the possibility to gain tomorrow. If luck does not favor me today, it will not discourage me in other times. I regret it when I change a decision after a certain period of time and then lose.

Maybe it was a huge amount that was supposed to be used for a different project but instead of using the money for that project, you decided to test your luck if you can multiply the money but unfortunately you lose the money and left the other important project unaccomplished, such situations is what some persons pass through, that's why they regret, but if you don't exhibit such attitude in gambling, you will not regret but will only feel bad that you are losing repeatedly.

I did and I felt terrible after losing them. We all have experienced that I guess when we think we're lucky and so, instead of using it for what it is intended for, we spent it for gambling and in the end, we just added another problem to our heads.

Nope. I don't regret losing the money that I used in gambling because I wired myself into a point where every buck that I put into gambling is considered as "lost funds" already so that I will not feel any disappointment or regret to myself if I lost all of it. It works, but it's hard knowing that you've worked hard for it (if you worked hard for it).

I gambled, and put some bets, but I didn't feel any guilt on myself. I mean I gamble just to add some excitement while watching some sports bets, and I gamble for entertainment. Kind of hard to believe TBH, but profit isn't my main priority when it comes to gambling.

You want to gamble without losing a large amount, then GAMBLE USING A SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY ALREADY.

I haven't lost significant amounts in gambling that I would regret but I have lost huge money in other ways which I do regret (..and I don't think I have to explain it here, cause that would be irrelevant to the sub).

Gamble with amount you can afford to lose, or more like, consider the amount you are going to use for gambling already lost, that way you'll be detached from results.

Actually now one isn't gambling recklessly like the way he was, then there's no need to think about it anymore because it's past already. However I don't sent a winning limit for my self because am doing it for fun, even though I am lucky to win or was unlucky in my bet I don't feel anything because even if I win and withdraw the money another day I might lose that same amount or more than that. I don't have winning limit but I have deposit limit which I don't exceed.

Actually, everyone has their personal choices, and may be here we find differences among us. And as you don't set any winning limit here I always try to set an specific amount before the starting of gambling. Becuase it happened to me multiple times that I win a good amount even I wager more to have more multiplier, but unfortunately, I lost the wager, when I tried to recover the loses I mean in this case I chased the loss and after a while I find my wallet as zero.

So that currently I always try to limit both it doesn't broke my fun from the gambling rather it add more satisfaction in gambling because no tension , no stress if the limit touch just quit the gambling for that time.

That is normal happen to you because other people have the same experience as you. But you now already realize what is your mistake and you regret losing that money. Next time, it is better you really control yourself and not let temptation come to you or become big to chase the win money or recover the lost money.

That will not worth to do because you may lose more without you realize. Rather than losing more money, it is better to stop gambling and trying to calm down yourself because of that lost. Besides that, you don't have to deposit too much money in gambling because playing gambling is just for fun and not making money.

That is the right thing to do. If the money isn't intended for gambling then we shouldn't spend it for gambling because if we're going to use it, and all of a sudden we lost then it's our problem. We shouldn't blame anyone for that but only ourselves because what matters most is on how we're going to gamble with the money that's only spare and we shouldn't be pressured with that decision. So, in the end we won't feel any regret at all and it's just a matter of how we're going to capitalize and control our funds that's for gambling.

Rather than feeling sympathy for this, I think I will curse people who do feel regret when they have felt the loss because of gambling.
I know that in the end regret will always come at the end but in this case are they not aware that they made a very big mistake before but did not try to stop and control themselves? Gambling from the start is a risk and in this case loss is something that can be a certainty so gambling will be done as long as we can overcome the losses we have.

If from the start they were aware that their capacity was poor in self-control and regretted it after doing it, in the end why try from the start, especially with a large amount, we know that gambling is about luck so why try to bet with a nominal amount of money that we cannot afford to lose just because it depends on luck.

I don't have many regrets when it comes to gambling but have made my fair share of mistakes along the way. I think regret is only present if you go into it with the wrong mentality, if you write off the money as spent before even starting your session with the only thing you're expecting to get out of it is the thrill of spending - then you'll walk out of it just fine. If you go in with the mindset you must win and if you don't win it will actually hurt you financially, then do not waste your money in this way. You mention losing thirty thousand (presumably dollars as exchange rates vary massively) as a huge amount and it is to most, but if someone has $25 million in the bank it's the equivalent to $20 in the average persons wallet - an acceptable loss on a night out, it just has to be judged in the correct perspective.

Gambling shouldn't cause any fork of regrets for anyone who's discipline and gambling the right way bit when you tend not to go oj the right way you'll definitely have yourself regretting over alot  more especially money you lose while gambling. So putting myself in that state I have  lost countless times and can't really keep count of how much but the thing is i don't regret eber doing so because it's money that I can afford to lose and im bot out doing myself just for the sake of gambling, so no reasons to feel guilty.
