Betting on Moneyline - underdog or favorites?

Just wanna throw this topic out there ’cause lately, betting on underdogs has been treating me better than my diet plan.

So here’s the question: Which one's more exciting for you, favorites or underdogs?

This is just to help us figure out what path might actually lead to profit especially for us who are still trying to level up from “gambler” to “smart gambler.”

I do not bet on underdogs because it is full of many failures and lost bets but their odds are big. I do not have good results on both strong teams and underdogs in the past which makes me know that the bookies know what they are doing with the odds that they are setting. I win more with going for the right selection which are stronger teams but if I bet more often, the bookies make more money from me. I lose more while going for underdogs.

I don’t keep a record since I rarely bet on the moneyline. Probably 90% of my bets are either point spread or totals.

But honestly, I get really tempted to go moneyline when I believe the underdog will win.

Like in these playoffs, so many underdogs are pulling off wins! Nuggets, Knicks, Pacers... if you hit those picks, you’re getting x3 or more. That’s a huge help, ‘cause one win could cancel out two losses and still keep you floating. Now that’s the kind of math I actually enjoy.

Underdog on playoffs while Favorites on regular season. Playoffs offer strategic planning to counter enemy since it’s a best of 7 matches which means an underdog can beat a favorite team on 1 to 2 matches before the team adjust their strategy.

On regular season, Adjustment is very hard to do since coaches is just applying strategy based on current conditions without enough time for strategic planning that’s why underdog always lose on this 1 time matches.

When I'm betting strategically I always go with betting on favorites to win, there's always a reason why the underdogs are given such high value odd... it's because the odds are not in favour of them to win and betting on them would be very risky..but it sometimes turns out that the underdogs are always underestimated and they end up winning in some cases..But as a gambler that's trying to be careful I'd bet on the favorites.

It's betting on underdogs for me, or better put, betting on the underdog odds. I do not always bet on the underdog to win, but I find a different unlikely odd which I feel will likely play out and bet on that.

I also bet on favorites sometimes and also lose such bets.  While betting on underdogs is more risky, with the potential win, I think it kind of evens out with the profits from playing it safe and is also more exciting for me

Underdog with odds ranging from 2.1 to 3.0 odds only. I consider this as semi under dog and has higher success chance of winning rather than taking a shot on higher odds that usually lose without a chance of winning if you watch the live game.

I rarely bet on favorites but if I do I always bet in parlay to make the odds higher and become worthy on risking my money.

Underdog is my favorite pick due to the odds.

Basically I gamble for fun so it's easy for me to stake a couple of dollars on the underdogs. This is very risky but gambling is all about taking risks. I used to be the type of gambler that always sticks to betting on favorites but I have had some bad luck with that. Sports betting is very tricky and the odds can be very misleading, it's not always about the team that the odds are in favour of, think out of the box.

It does not help at all if we would just have to decide to bet on favourites or underdog without considering their odds or even historical performance to know which is liable to win.
Even though after spending much time in analysing their strengths and you have not been able to win, it is still worth sticking to.

If we must know too, our favorites can be that underdog so, that is where the complications may come which is why we can not ignore from comparing which team that is potential to win and one doomed.

And I bet it would be a bunch of failure if you hold on betting by favorite when you know the other team is stronger or even betting on the underdog when the favourite team performing better.

I also bet on favorites but not because they are my favorites but because I know they are likely to win which still means I do not bet on favorites. Good clubs like Liverpool, Barcelona, Inter,  PSG, Bayern and some other clubs are my favorites. I am even not a fan of any club but I still like those clubs that are very strong and winning leagues and cups which are my favorites.

If it’s excitement we are talking about, underdogs winning are always exciting for the sport and makes the sport more unpredictable. Dominance is unavoidable in a sport but unless you are a big fan of whoever is the favorite, it may be a boring time for the sport. For bettors, on the other hand, they would obviously be more excited based on who they betted on. Though sometimes, like I said, seeing underdogs win is always an exciting experience no matter who you betted on.

Excitement and making money can't be combined.

If you're looking for excitement, betting on underdog, what's the point to bet on favorites? we all know favorites are likely to win. So, if they win, it doesn't make us to think "we're really a good gambler, that's why we're correct".

Betting on favorites should make us able to make money in the long run, but I advise the favorites where the odds are higher than @1.40, bet on small odds doesn't mean much.

I take chances with underdogs only if I am sure that they have the potential to win the favourite even if they look weaker on the paper but it happens rarely cause it's not like everyday the underdog team if knocking every odds staked against them and coming up with good recent form. Now the real talk, yes the favorites will be the obvious choice if I am gonna bet on a game that I have no idea too and I guess that's how most people bet too.

I always pick the underdog which has the potential to win, or make the odds to handicap.
Then pck some few favorites with a high percentage to win, this will make the money line bigger.

Good clubs like Liverpool, Barcelona, Inter,  PSG, Bayern and some other clubs are my favorites. Although gamblers can win big betting on underdogs but they hardly win. Focusing on betting on teams who are not favourite could lead to consistent losses. Some gamblers are loyal to some clubs that they bet on them consistently. This might be a good reason to bet on underdogs. But if you want to enjoy your bet and target wins, betting on favourites is far better.

Playing the underdog is mostly done by some gamblers who love to have big odds and win big by taking advantage on that, but we should not forget also that the risk involved is very big as well because you may hardly find it possible to win, not that you cant win, but the chances of wining are small, while your favorites will be placed on small odds and then you think the money to earn form it will be small compared to that of the underdogs, this is one of the reason some will play in such manners just to win big with the big odds and the same reason there is high lose of bets under this.

My personal gambling experience leans me towards favoring those who are perceived to be more likely to win than those called "underdogs". Because I think it is less risky, specially if the team which is favorite in the match had managed to keep a good record during the ongoing season.
Though, I don't close myself to the possibility of betting in favor of underdogs, but I would decrease my wager of I go for it, because the chances of losing money are perceived by me (and the rest of the market) to be higher.

In short, I am more onto the "favorite" side rather than on the "underdog" side, specially when comes to football/soccer.

I usually play it safe and stick to betting on favorites, but every now and then I take a shot at underdogs or high odds bets. Winning on those is rare, which is expected, but when it does happen, the excitement is absolutely priceless. The win rate for high odds bets is typically around 2 out of 10 or sometimes even none at all, but the thrill is what makes it worth the risk occasionally.

Honestly I don't believe much in the favorites winning especially in the NBA where I have suffered the worse sport bet loss of my entire life, I had bet quite enough money on Boston Celtics when they had the odd of 1.04 and were heavy favorites, I just added them to my parlay just because of routine habit and it costed me dearly, it made me lose my parlay ticket. They were playing against the last place on the standings and they lost their game so in NBA from that game I have totally quit betting there.

It is a completely different thing in soccer sport betting or football as we know it, most of the times here the favorite win, you only have to not put a lot of them in the same ticket as of course some of them will lose, now if you want to put 10 favorites in a single ticket it is going to be almost impossible to win but if you put 5 tickets with 2 favorites in each chances are high that you are going to win at least 3 tickets, at least this was my personal experience that I am sharing here.

If we do tend to count about on how many times that i have bet on underdog then it will be just that lesser on the count on the fingers with our hands on which means that it will be just that rare for me to bet on underdogs on which it will be basing up whether i do see some opportunity or chances then i might consider on throwing up some bucks but of course the amount isnt something that will be the same at the moment that i do made out some bets on favorites. Cant be able to deny that when it comes to odds then it is that very tempting to bet it out specially on good multipliers but if you are just that trying out to be sensible then its always been the favorites on which you are always be spotting on.

When dealing up with favorites is that it doesnt give out some considerable odds. Any 1.5x below isnt something that give out some interest because it isnt worth the risks even if its on heavily favorite.
