The story is quite relatable because even during the normal day living, some persons don't know when to spend and when not to, or let's say many persons don't have the discipline and discretion of a budget and can make emotional decisions not rooted in proper logic and reasoning. This is often a cause of many persons fuming and transferring of aggression towards their immediate families or friends in proximity.

Anger is to me an emotional response and anyone who wants to learn to stay calm and composed in any terrible situation as in the story, must learn to control their greed and appetite for fast money and they must learn from experience of others so when it comes to you, there's no shock or disappointment.

2.So far, I have never seen a gambler, who is happy when losing money. It's pretty normal to feel angry and frustrated, when you are losing money. The problem is the itch to gamble and the desire to make the big win, which would compensate you for all the loses in the past.
The guy in your story is probably a gambling addict. I'm glad that he didn't do something crazy. Some gamblers might try to steal money from innocent people or they may break something out of anger.

When its a serious money is lost I think a gambler would really be frustrated especially when things didn't go his way and he has to attend a meeting where his head may just be somewhere else.

A gambler must learn to manage his emotions through discipline and ensuring he gamble with such amount that will not put him in financial pressures if he fails. Gamblers are going to be easy to be angered because they're losing when gambling. I don't see anybody that'll be losing money that they worked for or despite them being gifted and won't be angry. Anyone that can do that has mastered how to control their emotions and can't be influenced. I can't do that but I know how to control my emotions that although I'll be angry but it'll be under control. I believe when gamblers have understood how to be angry but don't allow the angry to take control of them that they begin to cause nuisance to the society, that's going to help many of them because sometimes, it's because of we being angry that we make decisions that leads to other problems. For sure it is, since they provably get angry for those bad decision they made especially they didn't meet those expectations they think would gonna happen. And they should not come to think about betting especially if there's serious matter that needed to attain since if they lose there's provably a huge chance that they will be out in their focus on irritable especially when they lose huge which they can't afford to let go.

Gambling responsibly is just a word if they didn't put it on their minds and execute it. Since those losing situation will still occur if they gamble in wrong situations then do bad decisions. Experience and self-control are two different things. A person can play for a long time, but if they have a hot-tempered personality, they won’t learn to react calmly. I know someone who, just playing football in the yard, reacts very emotionally to losing and that’s when they’re simply playing for fun, with no money involved. I can only imagine how he would react if he lost money. But there are also people who can lose a large sum of money and won’t show any anger at all. I still believe it mostly comes down to a person’s character.

I happened to encountered someone today at the gambling shop in a local betting site gambling, and guess what? He was betting on virtual game with the hope to double his balance before he could go to a meeting he was invited.

The man was careless and still not a responsible gambler, if he was a responsible gambler, he would have known that he has a very important thing to attend to and would have reserved the money he was supposed to use in going there. If he was angry that day, he was the cause of his problem and don't have anyone to put the blame on. Any responsible gambler will not forget they have important things to spend on, or will not even go to the betting center till they are done with the important stuff they have to do.

As if we are not all humans, many people react to good and bad things or outcomes differently, who am I to judge anyone based on that? Some people get angry over little things but when it comes to losing money they know how to man up, they do have regrets but that's it.
And there are some that will go about breaking things when they lose money or even try to inflict pain on other people around them, this is what I believe to be the worst behaviour from anyone which needs some counselling or it will keep getting worse.

And if some failures happen in his life, then he will not have a "safety cushion" to stay out of work for several months or pay hospital bills - depending on what happens to him.
Unfortunately, I know very well from my own experience what it is like to have no extra money, and in fact, it has a very strong subconscious effect on our mood, while a person with savings is always calm. Actually we can't judge that every gambler quickly gets angry, because I don't think all gamblers are like that. From what I've seen from personal experience or people around me who are gamblers, usually gamblers who get angry easily because they have many problems with their finances, while gamblers who don't get angry easily usually because they don't have problems with their finances. So the point is, someone who gets angry easily is when there is a problem, even this is not just about gambling.

This is why it is good to always use what you can afford to lose in gamble, I think some gamblers don't understand the importance of being responsible gambler. Being responsible gambler you won't have the pressure for gamble because you won't be gambling to get profits. Well, we shouldn't expect a gambler who's into gambling for making profits to be happy when he loses, so needing profits from gamble will make you chase your losses when you lose.

Yes, I totally agree with that everyone should be able to be wise and become a responsible gambler. Maybe it seems like this or a warning like this seems trivial or seems like it's repetitive, but I still support and keep reminding anyone to be responsible, especially in gambling. Personally, I was once in a phase of addiction and became an irresponsible gambler, and at that time I was really out of control both emotionally and in terms of self-limitation, fortunately, in the end I realized that a reminder like this could make me aware. There is no need to analyze him too much. His emotions are in control, and that's literally a very big deal when it comes to gambling. That's why we always advise that we control our emotions, but on a second thought, I think there is some level of stupidity in what he did. He clearly assumes that his chances of winning is 50/50, and went in for it. But meanwhile, he ought to have prepared more for the worse because losses are very much possible, and virtual cases are far worse.

This is the level of indiscipline we keep talking about. When a gambler fails to put these things in check, it ends up becoming a topic. From the entire context now, it shows that he had too many expectations, he gambled with the wrong money, and he failed to prepare his emotions for the worse, which at the end of the day, was all his fault.

So, not all gamblers gets angry, but the ones that fails to put the things I mentioned, in check, will definitely get angry easily.

I think this depends on the situation.  I observed that gamblers who lost something that he couldn't afford feel regret and oftentimes become short-tempered.  They are easily annoyed or irritated when someone meddles with their gambling activities especially when someone comes to nag them and tells them triggering stuff.

It is human nature to get angry, but due to being in control, people tend to suppress it.  There are instances where this control goes out and some of which is when the person is losing in gambling.  The frustration of losing is something that triggers the emotion to burst out losing control of temper and the person become aggressive, sensitive in some sense.

That is why I think gambling can affect a person's mood depending on the current situation of his gambling activities.  It can make a person easily get angry if losing or generous when hitting a lucky streak.

Well, gambling can definitely make a person feel mood swings. Mostly negative ones. It's because losing has been the most common thing that happens to a gambler, and being angry will become a part of it. But what he did was his own mistake, and he was supposed to be prepared for the risk that he took. He could've just stayed seated and waited for his meeting, but because he was urged to gamble, everything changed.

Yes, probably because they under pressure since money is on the line per bet. Any distraction or disturbances can easily upset them especially if they are experiencing bad luck.

I experienced this myself so I’m commenting based on my personal experience before. I do make an adjustment when gambling which is I gamble only when I’m alone and has nothing to do so that I can focus.

I’m easy to get irritated when I’m focus on things that I’m doing.
