As much as I want Manny to win, beating the younger and taller Barrios seems like a tough challenge. Even just lasting until the end of the match is uncertain. It's not that I'm belittling Pacman, but he's not just past his prime, he's past the age where he can fight and stay healthy without serious risks after the bout. There's nothing Pacman needs to prove at this rate. He has already accomplished a lot as a boxer. That's a good analysis, too. Maybe that's why the WBC considers him for a title fight. Many think Barrios is not a dangerous fighter to face. It's going to be an endurance fight for Manny. He will have to accumulate points in the early rounds or even stop him.

Fighting with Barrios is like a "testing grounds" for Pacquiao if he still has it or not. This is a fight for him to see whether he can still do it at 46 years old or not.

I'm a huge Pacquiao fan, but his prime years are long over already. We know that in any sports, the older you are, the lower the stamina and endurance you have. Trying to say that he can't defeat Barrios isn't a form of "bringing him down", but just saying the reality of it. On the other hand, Pacquiao is on training already, and I guess the best thing to do right now is to wait on how he will be performing on July 19th, then from there, we will see if Pacquiao can still do it or not.

Just for context as well, the oldest title holder in boxing history is Bernard Hopkins at 46 years old. It's the same as Pacquiao so I guess he's trying to beat that record? I don't have the time to look at the months and days though.

Agreed. This will be a good deal for both Manny Pacman and Mario Barrios! The younger boxer Barrios will get a chance to fight a living legend and if he gets the victory, this will be a big name in his record. But I don't think that the split is 50/50, Manny should still be the A-side here, despite being out and not the champion. I'm speculating that maybe a 60/40 is good for Barrios and this could be his biggest purse.

Oh man I cannot wait for this fight to happen! As a Filipino who grew up watching Pacquiao fight, I just cannot contain my excitement to see him on the ring once again.

Given the age disparity between Barrios (30 years old) vs Manny Pacquiao (46 years old), the fight may be somehow difficult for Manny to keep up. But with his experience on the ring and tons of opponents he already faced, I give him the edge on this fight. The question is, will we see an explosive Pacquiao that will be aggressive all-throughout the match or will he be more calculated and careful with his punches and movements?

At the end of the day, it is truly a blessing to see Pacquiao once again to step inside the ring given his current age. Perhaps this could be his last fight before he retires; that is why we should all be blessed to see him in the ring once again and see his explosiveness in the ring without any running!

Definitely some juicy odds here. The last time I saw odds like this for Pacman was back when he wasn’t even that popular yet.

But it’s understandable as he retired and now he’s making a comeback at an older age. I guess it all depends on whether you’re willing to take the risk. It could be, but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get to his peak condition within the 7 weeks he has before the fight, even if he goes through intense training, I mean, the guy has been retired for 4 years, and his age is a big factor too. that being said, I am still excited and curious how this fight will go.
