I can't say for sure that I will retire. You can never tell what kind of person you will become in the future because humans change. I agree that there is a level a man can reach where he might feel the need to retire, but that certainly isn't the case for me at the moment. We all have things that interest us aside from investment. You have to understand that some people love their career far more than anything else, so no matter how much they make, they will always want to remain in their field of specialization.

Like I said, I can't tell what the future holds, but at this very moment, I think I'm enjoying what I do.

Each person is interested in his own thing, and nobody would retire just because he can - only if his job or sphere of work isn't that good for him and doesn't bring him joy.

And it cannot be turned into a hobby after the awaited "retirement".

This question is for those people holding $BTC and other huge crypto assets. if $BTC later reaches $1 million, will you retire from your work or still continue to work?
Asking this question because of what i saw in a friend portfolio and he claimed if it later reaches certain amount he will finally retire.
It is a non-sense question by lacking of necessary data for answering it.

Bitcoin reaches $1M, so there are different answers with two people who own 1 bitcoin and 0.001 bitcoin. Hopefully you see differences in this simple example but in reality there is more complicated difference. Two people with same 1 bitcoin might have different decisions of retiring or continuing to work with $1M in their pockets. It's personal choice and depends on many things, not only on Bitcoin price, how much money they have but also related to what they'd like to do at most: working as a workaholic person or travelling and enjoying life.

You can ask Elon Musk, will he retire tomorrow?
Very likely his answer is no, even he is a richest person on Earth now.

I find this question dumb to ask since we provably know the answer for our selves especially that there's no wealth is stable. We see those richest man on earth keeps working on despite of they already have enough wealth to sustain their needs until they get old.

So same goes with people earning with Bitcoin and for sure they won't stop even if the price would reach to the point he's asking.

I myself don't plan to retire even if I'm earning lots of Bitcoin or even I'm old since with Bitcoin there are lots of opportunities to grab and we can do all of this at home while there's internet available for us to access those activities that can possibly generate us profits from this coin or industry we are working with.

if $BTC later reaches $1 million, will you retire from your work or still continue to work?
Currently there are individuals who are involved in jobs, working not because of the money but just to be engaged in something, while they hold on to their investments in Bitcoin, some working their jobs out of love and passion they have for the field they are in. At a million dollars in value, many of them will still not quit their jobs.

Now also consider those who are business owners. As for the job they do, if their investments in bitcoin rise up to $1,000,000, they would not consider shutting down their business but rather expanding their business, maybe through diversification or expansion of the original place. To really get and stay wealthy, you have to think about making more and not eliminating the few sources that you already have working for you.

Asking this question because of what i saw in a friend portfolio and he claimed if it later reaches certain amount he will finally retire.

I will not say first because Bitcoin or other resources will not be required to retire from it, no matter how old. If Bitcoin reaches a million, then in my opinion it will not require any need. No one can say when Bitcoin can reach 1 million or reach it at all. However, it is possible to say that one year, five years or ten years later. However, those who are already wealthy will be able to invest only Bitcoin and hold. I do not think anyone will take so long because the age of the people increases, the more their demand for money will decrease. Because if you have enough resources, so much resources will not be needed. However, I own a lot of wealth. That's why 1 Bitcoin is too much for me.

However, I will hold my assets for a long time so that my last age does not have to be neglected.

Just because Elon or other rich people don't have a retirement plan despite having hundreds of billions of dollars. Or just because you don't have a retirement plan doesn't mean others have to think like you and follow your lead. Everyone has different thoughts and ideas about life, no one is the same, and we cannot impose our thoughts on others.
But OP's question is really silly because of the lack of necessary data because not everyone owns the same amount of bitcoin as notocactus said.

Unlike you, I have my financial goals and when I achieve them, I will retire and spend my time doing other things, I will not spend my whole life just making money.

I don't understand your idea of retirement. If it is about stop working 9 - 5 government or private jobs, I think many people are already retired.
There are some freelancers, content creators, YouTubers etc who are already retired. They have the audience, such that if they want to make instant money, they will just on the camera and make money. I think I can consider those people already retired.

$1m is already a high number for bitcoin to attain. I am not sure bitcoin will do that in this life. Even if it will, maybe our children and not us will witness it.

Before we begin to conclude on some kind of numbers with bitcoin, just pray and hope for long life. Because $1millon is actually large number. And as that, so many holders might have kicked the buckets. Retirement isn't going to be your issue then, so Just get the most out of your BTC Investment while you are alive.
Lol. You bring the inevitable to the table as raw as it should be, mate. It's most certain that not everyone would get to witness bitcoin at $1m or reach there set retirement age with their hodlings before death comes knocking. Which now brings in the question. What plans or measures have we put in place for our next of kin to inherit our bitcoin hodling in the event of sudden death? Some persons have died without their family knowing they have some investments somewhere base on the necessity for privacy and security of their investments asset.

It depends on how much I have when Bitcoin reaches 1 million and to reach that number will take quite a long journey maybe 10 years or 20 years or maybe more. If that really happens and I live long then of course I will retire and enjoy the glamorous life. Tongue
But for now it is better to just focus on the present because no one knows what the future will be like.

Retirement shortens your life so for me financial freedom is not about stopping "work" altogether, but instead doing something I enjoy and something meaningful.

There are too many expectations or thoughts about Bitcoin reaching $1 million, and what you have to know and realize is that it took a decade and a half for Bitcoin to reach $100,000 and the question is we are still around to reach it and even if Bitcoin reaches $1 million, I think it will only happen in the next generation or maybe after we retire because no one can really predict it accurately.

And Bitcoin can be used as a guarantee for our retirement, but there is no fixed price and the most important thing is that the price generates a very large profit. And personally, even though I am retired, I will still invest in Bitcoin and at least for one or two cycles I think I can still do it after I take profits and target it as my retirement activity that can be done casually.
Bitcoin got to a $100k within a decade of which in between there are years where we did recorded some exponential growth and years where the growth was really slow so i wouldn't want to be in the school of taught that because it took bitcoin that long to get to $100k which i personally even consider a really good growth as a reason to think Bitcoin may not be able to beat the $1m within even a shorter or longer time, there's so much of uncertainties that does comes with this but in all the possibilities around it is actually endless so more can happen within the shortest time we may not expect, it doesn't have to take as long as we may want to propose or expect. But Bitcoin will have to defy it's cycle to get that happening within the shortest period of time.

If you have got a really got or decent holdings on your portfolio, its very possible to retire when Bitcoin eventually reaches such milestone as you can be sure of a huge profit enough to get you to diversifying into other areas of investments enough for you not to really have to work the rest of your life after the said retirement.

I retired off Bitcoin back in 2019 when it was around $10k. So my answer to the question is yes haha, did it almost 6 years ago! Thanks Bitcoin!

What pushed you through to buy more of it in the times when it was a much better deal than today?

Any employee who works at 9 to 5 office will definitely consider retiring from his job once Bitcoin touches 1 million USD. We are sure that Bitcoin price will increase with time but we can't predict the date on which Bitcoin with reach 200k, 500k or 100 million USD. Having said that it's also important that if we are planning for a retirement when Bitcoin will be at 1 million USD then we must start hodling right now. It's obvious that profit will be negligible if we buy Bitcoin near 1 million USD.

This question is for those people holding $BTC and other huge crypto assets. if $BTC later reaches $1 million, will you retire from your work or still continue to work?
Asking this question because of what i saw in a friend portfolio and he claimed if it later reaches certain amount he will finally retire.
It would depend on the situation, if I hold a certain amount that could support me for the rest of my life and my current work at that time is affecting my health then I would definitely retire and enjoy my life, but if I am enjoying working then I would rather continue to work than to be bored at home.

My BTC is going to my kids.  Sure, if it hit ten or twenty mil, I might just say fk it and retire, knowing i have enough for that AND for the kids.  But my current plan is to retire on my regular savings and die with the bitcoin.

But again, bitcoin going to the moon could change all that.  I HAVE always wanted to live on a big sailboat.

True that — no point stressing too much about the numbers. Life’s short, enjoy the ride and let BTC do its thing!

If bitcoin gets to 1 million USD I think the question of retirement will be base on how many bitcoin or satoshi that the investor has to consider going for retirement, one million dollars per bitcoin is simply 10x of ones portfolio at the moment, imagine someone holding 0.1 bitcoin or below I think even with bitcoin reaching 1 million usd the market value of such investment in usd will be around $100k, in some countries that’s actually ok for someone to retire with but in some countries that’s not enough to leave off your life on.

If bitcoin gets to this amount what I think most people will do is actually look for jobs that doesn’t require their full time even if they need to earn half their earnings now but just to pay off some bills but some people will use that money to set up business for themselves but definitely not gonna fully retire except the age catches up with them

Retirement should not exist in the minds of those who love their work unless they are unable to work anymore. We are passionate about our Bitcoin works.
Part of our goals or role in life is to ensure that Bitcoin is properly developed according to its ideals, and used for the good of people.
No amount of wealth can move or make us retire from this goal.

The first one is usually people who born rich, they might be not given a lot of money from their parent, but they already get many thing which will make their life easier. But, this make them feel like too easy in life, hence they choose to work in minimum salary jobs in order to experience and feel the life of other people.

You're correct, business owners doesn't care about FIRE or retirement, all they cares how to make their business bigger and make their business autopilot.

If Bitcoin reaches $500,000 valuation, I will take retirement from work. I wouldn't need it to reach $1 million to be honest.

However, retirement doesn't mean that I will stop working. I will continue working, but for myself. I am sure a lot of people will be able to achieve this status if Bitcoin reaches this price range. I hope it happens soon so that I don't have to drive to work every morning.
