As long as Bitcoin is not yet considered a legitimate currency used as a means of everyday payment, educational institutions have no responsibility to include Bitcoin as one of the subjects that must be taught to the next generation. Some private schools may have already introduced Bitcoin into their schools or opened special courses for those who want to learn about it. But in general it is not the government's responsibility (as long as Bitcoin is still considered a commodity asset).

Technically, Bitcoin has been used as an everyday currency and many merchants already support or accept payments with Bitcoin, this development is increasingly opening the way for the younger generation to get to know Bitcoin more deeply, especially since more complete information can be obtained from Google, YouTube, social media or even forums that actively discuss Bitcoin. Even if schools don't teach Bitcoin, people can still use Bitcoin because they have a lot of access to learn about it.

Even if schools don't teach Bitcoin, people can still use Bitcoin because they have a lot of access to learn about it.

The presence of BTC, in its current state, has attracted considerable public attention. Academics have also taken notice, albeit superficially. I've noticed that the current generation, from third-year high school students to third-year junior high school students, doesn't know much about it. However, through their routine internet browsing, they've likely scrolled through the related news stories mentioned above. Yes, social media is indeed powerful in the current era of conveying important information, and they will also learn about it to some extent later. It's possible that some of them have even entered the trading realm, whether on the spot or otherwise, after creating an account.

From the illustration above, it's clear that although the curriculum hasn't been specifically included in the educational field due to local government considerations and policies, which only cover general economics, including an introduction to various asset classes and BTC, they already possess a deep understanding of this information. Students are already familiar with it and have practiced it, at least understanding its performance and inherent risks. Literally, it can be concluded that regardless of whether schools teach it or not, access to information about Bitcoin is now widely available, and this is a fact that cannot be hidden forever in the economic realm.

Did Bitcoin help millions to get out of poverty? Do we have any stat to prove that number?

Bitcoin helped people to become millionaires and some might even there in the poor section but I doubt poor people invested in bitcoin in their early days and years passed bitcoin became expensive and it become not affordable for them.

I don't know where they got the idea that bitcoin has lifted millions of people out of poverty, helped improve the economies of many countries. Meanwhile, bitcoin is just a volatile and risky investment. It does not create jobs, it does not create passive income. Or it is not created and distributed for free, and it costs money to invest in. How can it eradicate poverty and lift millions out of poverty?

Also, what are the benefits of adding bitcoin to the curriculum? I'd love to hear proponents of this idea explain the benefits of teaching students to invest, a risky field that can either make them rich or cause them to lose money or even go bankrupt.

Bitcoin can comes under the branch of economics or finances and not necessarily for everyone but what we should suggest is let the people to know about how money works which is not known to most of the world yet we use it on everyday and spend our whole life to make that money without realizing that we are getting ripped by the banks and governments while running their money printer whenever they want to.

Bitcoin is not truly deflationary until 2140 but its inflation rate decreases and halves every 210,000 blocks. It makes Bitcoin future new supply is like deflationary and it makes Bitcoin very attractive as a heaven asset against inflation issue and decrease of purchasing power of fiat currencies.

Governments can print money, with whatever inflation rate they want, you can not stop them.
With CBDCs, they can mint new CBDCs very easily even without any physical resources like traditional fiat currencies. It will be their new favorite tool to use whil with citizens, CBDC's decrease of purchasing power will make their lives much harder.

To understand Bitcoin, believe in it, and invest your money in Bitcoin, I recommend "How is the 21M Bitcoin cap defined and enforced?"

If Im not mistaken some colleges and schools also now discussing some topics or putting some subject related to cryptocurrencies and bitcoin. I saw some local news on our country regarding this and soem actually opening up some courses or training for such blockchain studies. This could be further as bitcoin continue to adopt more.
Your post is right, when I was actually in school, there was a day our lecturer just walked into the class, all of a sudden he was talking to us about bitcoin, and he literally said we should try and start making investments in bitcoin and unfortunately for me I was a student and I didn’t have any extra money or leftover money to start investing in bitcoin, but after my university days then I started working and I started having some money for myself and immediately I started investing in bitcoin little by little with my discretionary income so we have a different income and I started buying more aggressively, I must say that my lecturer was just an eye opener for me for and that really helped me in starting my investment journey in bitcoin.

I think it's more about how the system works decentrally without a third party controlling it and we can see transparently but can also have anonomity of senders and recipients, and only transaction records can be seen publicly.
The world can become one in a global system without kings in it, which is clearly not the coin but the Blockchain itself that pioneers how life is more fair and comfortable and safe.

And the correlation with your post is quite clear that we are indeed being played by the banking system, they print money that has no definite value, only trust and economic value which is their main value.

If you make a quick search on Google about schools that offer cryptography courses, I think there are a lot of them out there now. They are not just popular, but then again, you don't necessarily need to start teaching about Bitcoin in school before everyone can learn about it.

Anyone who is willing to get the knowledge about anything can do that to some level without that thing being taught in school. We are in a digital era where we have access to a lot of information, and we don't necessarily need to visit the library for that.

Based on research, many schools are offering bitcoin as a course already, but I haven’t seen any of them physically. However, sometimes I feel like it’s not just school; you can learn about bitcoin. Many of us here that are knowledgeable about bitcoin don’t get the knowledge through any college or classroom; we all learnt it with our phones digitally.

Although young people who are coming up can learn through their schools or university, right now I only need more knowledge about the crypto space, but people who are coming and wish to learn about crypto can go through school and get the knowledge.

If I remember correctly, they were included in extracurricular activities, electives instead of compulsory subjects. I support this idea because at this age, students need to be equipped with knowledge about new technology and financial trends. That will help them keep up with the trends of the times and avoid falling behind after graduation.

But I am against introducing bitcoin into primary or secondary education, it is completely useless and does not help anything. Bitcoin is not suitable for that age.

I support that if Bitcoin is introduced in schools and especially educational institutions must create special curricula for school subjects, this will bring its own meaning for the younger generation in managing the current digital investment system, Investment doesn't have to be in fiat, just gold, Bitcoin is the best step for the current generation, rather than having to fall into online mobile games.

With today's technology, it is a good hope for those who are still in school if they want to learn how Bitcoin works, not only governments, entrepreneurs and investors can understand Bitcoin, schools are also a good part of the current development.

Bitcoin has been a life saver to many people, as it was targeted to fill in the bridge in the economic sector, the lapses of hard currency. And it's spread is global in the last 16years which is alarming and fast. Hence no country can even denie the global impact of Bitcoin.

But,  devoid the spread of Bitcoin some persons still don't know what Bitcoin is all about, some just know that there is something like Bitcoin but, if you ask them "what is Bitcoin?" Or what do you understand by Bitcoin? They may not give you any reasonable answer.

Hence, I think schools should put Bitcoin knowledge into their scheme because, Bitcoin has helped millions out of poverty and is still doing so. Hence, these educational institutions should look for a way to intimate the young growing ones on the need to invest in Bitcoin. The school is a place to be educated on the most recent happenings and how to get yourself with the need knowledge to avoid poverty.

Hence, educational institutions should take the responsibility to see that out younger generation know Bitcoin and how to invest in crypto currency.
Great idea but I do not think it will be made necessary in any institution by the government and from the little I know, I believe bitcoin wasn't created so people could escape poverty with but rather a way to keep people from a third party intervention while transacting.

Lately, people are embracing bitcoin because of its volatility and the possibility of them making profits and people choose this by holding over just using it for a regular daily transaction

That's one of the benefits of having Bitcoin lessons in schools or other reputable universities. When a professor starts suggesting Bitcoin investment to students and also introducing it to them, they will naturally look for ways to invest after graduating from school or university. So that interest in Bitcoin can continue to grow over time and the adoption rate itself will also continue to expand if there are many schools and universities that teach Bitcoin to their students while still paying attention to other subjects as well.

Many of us is misunderstanding bitcoin, a bitcoin have not helped anybody rather people choose to use bitcoin as a currency, can you say that your traditional currency has helped, you? The answer is no" because a traditional currency is use as bitcoin is being use, they are people who invest with foreign currencies like dollars, especially USA dollars and euros, base on how low is their country currency, so they invest in dollar and euro for profit making purpose

When we are making statement we should put it street for people to understand what we are saying, bitcoin helped us for fast transaction purpose not for investment purpose, we need to change our mentality for bitcoin, because bitcoin was not introduced for investment purpose

I know how we got here to the extent that birkcin be included into educational curriculum but personally I disagree with that idea birkcin highest should be discussed as a subtopics in the topic "money" since bitcpin is money but a digital money.

apart from that bitcoin tech can only be studied as extra in programme or tech school if not birkcin is not something that should be considered or given a special attention in school since it's just a mere type of money.

Yes I believe with your statement, if really someone want to learn something, they can, even if that thing is not taught in school, there are so different ways to get more knowledge today, today we live in a digital world where information is almost everywhere, online videos, courses, even social media, before you learn something this days you don't even need to walk into library anymore, at the end of the day what really matters most is curiosity and consistency.

Bitcoin can comes under economics but it's not completed that way. Bitcoin has to be a stand alone subject in school like the way we have physics chemistry and mathematics or they should do it this way, you see science courses are spread across physics, chemistry and mathematics, since Bitcoin invokes mathematics on the technical aspect some part be included in mathematics, some included in computer science and then the rest in economics.

Whoever now choose to study a career in Bitcoin can then study it as a course in the tertiary institution. If the government allow this its going to be cool but you know, this isn't happening now the adoption and acceptance must come before education else the government will just frustrate everyone.

We need to distinguish that bitcoin is just one of many financial instruments or just a currency. It is not a type of knowledge that can be widely applied in life, nor is it something that will uniquely represent the financial system of the future.

Not to mention, learning and researching it is not too difficult, anyone with an internet connection can easily learn it on their own. It is complex but not as complex as basic subjects like math, programming which require a lot of time to learn and need guidance. So I don't think it's necessary to include it in the education curriculum, and it doesn't bring much benefit for students either. On the contrary, it only increases the burden on them, even causing them to think distortedly and neglect their studies when they think of making money too early.

You see knowing about Bitcoin is certainly useful, but the main task of schools is not to promote any specific investment. The crypto market is very volatile; many have suffered big losses in the hope of quick profits. Telling teenagers to invest in Bitcoin can push them into risky decisions. Moreover the laws, taxes and security issues are different in every country investing without understanding these is dangerous. Therefore, it is more important to teach neutral financial education in schools about economics, savings, understanding risks, and digital financial technologies, rather than specific coins.

I don't know what education system is in your country but here we have middle school, and high school, and I don't want them to teach kids about cryptocurrency in middle school because many won't give it a chance even, as most of them don't know what they are doing in life, they are blind, chilling, but it does not mean they should not be given the opportunity.

They should be given slight knowledge about it as some optional course, those who would be interested can pursue it otherwise the remaining ones will keep their distance and after middle, this should become a part of their studies not so hard that they start to hate it but basics, so after high education when they pursue their graduation they can start their careers from there. I might be wrong as I am not education minister haha but still I don't want 8 years old kids to be learning about investment, but about blockchain only.

i get what youre saying bitcoin has changed so many lives and its crazy how fast its grown over the years but honestly throwing it into school curriculums could be a game changer for the kids coming up imagine learning about decentralized money right alongside history or econ classes it could teach em real financial independence early on instead of just the old school banking stuff that keeps people stuck in the system.

but heres the thing we gotta be careful not to hype it up too much without talking risks like volatility or scams schools could focus on the basics what bitcoin is how blockchain works and why its a hedge against inflation that way young folks get the tools to decide for themselves without getting wrecked on bad trades or shitcoins.

ive seen some unis already offering crypto courses which is cool but starting earlier in high school might help close that knowledge gap you mentioned and yeah the internets full of free resources but not everyones gonna seek it out on their own school could make it standard.

anyway props for bringing this up op its a solid idea that could push adoption further just needs governments to chill on the regs first  Roll Eyes
