Bitcoin 2025 guest line up to include Ross Ulbricht and...Peter Schiff?

I was scrolling through the long list of guest speakers for the Bitcoin 2025 event
in Nevada next week, and noticed one name people might be surprised, if not totally shocked to see.

it seems this will be one of the huge btc conference that we have ever seen and this time with many VIP involved.
It should be not a surprise since the public endorsement received in the last months (or from the Nashville conference) have now provided some results.

Peter Schiff has changed step by step his position about bitcoin, but I had (personally) the doubt that he was sometimes trolling his audience with silly claims against bitcoin.

Inviting Peter Schiff to his conference is controversial but interesting. First of all, it makes noise and that's good as a free marketing attempt with kind of guaranteed success. Secondly, I think it's good to listen to speech of a person who is famous as a long time anti-Bitcoin. People can listen to him and has an opportunity to explore ways of thinking of people who dislikes Bitcoin in many years. Audience and participants will not only listen to Peter Schiff so they won't be fooled by his speech.

They are intelligent enough for differentiating right and wrong speeches about Bitcoin. Additionally, if they want to learn they will find more available resources for their learning later, and won't stop immediately after this Bitcoin conference

Peter Schiff for one will be the interesting speaker here, as he is a well-known critic of Bitcoin. And it's good though that he says to the Bitcoin 2025 as we all know that we are in the middle of bull run so anything and everything that will be says here will somewhat affect the price is short term. So let's see how it goes, for sure this could be the biggest Bitcoin conference that we will have in recent years and I'm seeing that there will be a full crowd here, wanting to hear what everyone will say about Bitcoin. Lucky are those who might go and see it live specially those members that are in the US. And maybe there will be someone here during a live coverage? Probably like a commentary of sorts so that those who can't attend will love to listen to it.

Yeah Peter schiff if I am not mistaken thinks that Bitcoin is a speculative bubble and also calls Bitcoin "fool's  gold" but it is surprising that sometimes he states that ‘Clearly I wish I bought Bitcoin’ published in this article: Peter Schiff : ‘Clearly I wish I bought Bitcoin’

I will say this will be the genuine revealing of some Bitcoin enthusiasm conference due to Peter Schiff's involvement.

Mind you, he never changed his stance towards Bitcoin because most of these people are Bitcoin enthusiasts and they understood the benefits of it years ago, but missed the early adoption of it, so what can they do to accumulate the dip since they joined the boat late, is creating some FUD in the market. Besides, BlackRock also used this strategy because one of their US owned TV station (ABC) was making negative news about Bitcoin, and a month later, they filed for a Bitcoin ETF.  Technically, they have accumulated some BTC before the public confirms their ETF.
After BlackRock filed for an ETF, there was no negative statement about Bitcoin on the TV station's morning program.

This is why I feel sorry for the people who still see the statement and the tweet of influencers as an investment decision.

peter schitt again. Boo… I guess they invited him to make fun of him and you know what? He deserves it all. I feel sorry for his followers who did what he said and didn’t buy any bitcoin in the last decade. Even himself is sorry for the opportunity he missed. He still won’t buy btc now though. He can’t change his course anymore. He has to defend his position to the end and that will harm his followers even more. I hope people lighten up and stop listening to his bullshit. Numbers speak louder than words.

I'm waiting to read and hear about his contribution to this upcoming Bitcoin event, unless his stance on Bitcoin has changed privately. If not, I don't see that man as someone who has seen or publicly admitted that Bitcoin is something good; he's always publicly attacking Bitcoin, criticising it in every way possible. It's surprising to me, to be honest, to see his name on that guest list; he's a big name and a VIP when you talk about economics, but not in the Bitcoin area.

Surprised about what exactly? That Peter Schiff is speaking on that day?  It's not something to be surprised about, he is an advocate of gold investment and it will not be a surprise to people that knows him if he goes on stage that day and start telling people to let go of Bitcoin investing and divert their investment to gold.
Since am following him on Twitter, I was surfing Twitter last month when I came across his tweet where he made the announcement himself, base on what he said on that tweet, that he is going to suggest to the audience an alternative. What's the alternative asset or investment he will likely talk about if not gold? unless he has finally become a true fan of Bitcoin which he has never been for decades.

A long time Bitcoin skeptical now speaking on Bitcoin conference what a crazy turn of events happening. I wonder what Peter Schiff would discuss about on that conference and I'm skeptical about his presence and intention there since maybe he's just taking advantage to get some fame in that event. But still on other hand still somehow its good that a bitcoin critic before now became a Bitcoin advocate or investor.

Curious to know further about this and hopefully there's video will be released about what the speakers talk about in this events.

Almost everybody big did and do have their grudges against BTC - but some are okay to reconsider their conclusions, whereas others - they are still sturdy to this day.

This is absolutely crazy, I still can't believe to my eyes. They guy is called a freedom fighter and down below there is a text written: Ross Ulbricht was the founder of Silk Road, an anonymous online market and the first major use-case for Bitcoin. He was held responsible for illegal drug sales conducted on the platform. How can this person be called a freedom fighter? So, those who fight for promoting drug selling and criminal activities, are freedom fighters these days? It's a huge mistake to promote decentralization through him because this basically means that decentralization equals to market like Silkroad.
I do not support the idea of catching people for drug usage, I think it's better to offer them legal options and completely close the darknet marketplace because if things will be legal, there will be no dark market but I don't support what Ross Ulbricht has done and I'll never support it. He is a criminal who should be punished for his activities but strangely he gets pardoned like he has done nothing.

It is always good to have a variety of opinions for a good discussion. Different people come to the conference; it is not interesting to see only supporters. If Peter Schiff  still has arguments to prove that Bitcoin is a bubble, well, he should prove it again, at this time and to this audience. Although it seems like it would be a big victory if some opponents of Bitcoin publicly changed their minds, it would once again prove that he is heading in the right direction.

For a moment, it was actually Ulbricht that raised an eyebrow for me. Thought he'd be unkeen to throw his hat into the same ring as CEOs and Maltese entre... sorry... astronauts. Thought he'd be even less enthused to breathe the same air as US politicians and senators, the same regime who... and then I saw it wasn't Ross haha.

Realised I know fewer and fewer of the names on these conferences. I take it as a good thing.

It is always good to have a variety of opinions for a good discussion. Different people come to the conference; it is not interesting to see only supporters. If Peter Schiff still has arguments to prove that Bitcoin is a bubble, well, he should prove it again, at this time and to this audience. Although it seems like it would be a big victory if some opponents of Bitcoin publicly changed their minds, it would once again prove that he is heading in the right direction.

Hopefully, that would be the case: I do think that almost all of this old caste of people and BTC fudsters, eventually, will reconsider their positions - only to utilize BTC properly and profit from it in the long run.

This year the conference will be great for having one who was a Bitcoin naysayer and another one who was in prison for fighting about privacy.

I think he will just repeat what he said, but the difference is the words will come from his mouth, not just written in article.

This would increase Bitcoin price because people are bullish with Bitcoin.

I don't think inviting Ross Ulbricht to a bitcoin conference is such a good idea. Yeah, he's very pro bitcoin, but what examples will he set for the younger generation? He's probably one of the people who helped shape the narrative that "bitcoin is for illegal activities". The fact that he was pardoned doesn't exonerate the crimes committed. He was pardoned because he had served his time, not because he was innocent.
He as privileges and that has helped hi to be free, but we shouldn't take him to be a role model or something of the sort.
