I'd like to know if I'm the only one who has the habit of playing video game matches for money. I usually play Street Fighter 6, and almost every week there are money matches in a best-of-10 format, with stakes ranging from $2 to $10. The matches are usually streamed live on Twitch and YouTube, where viewers can donate to add to the total prize pool for the winner... It's pretty interesting, and when money is on the line, the matches feel completely different.

Similar to esport but if it is Street Fighter 6, that should not be esport. Anything related to esport and co, I do not bet on it and I fear manipulations. Unlike traditional matches and sports that are happening real life and not games. If I do not have game to bet on, I will prefer to visit casino instead.

I used to watch those multiplayer games because it can be pretty competitive even when the prize pool is too small, even I super chat once in a while to encourage those upcoming kids assuming that eSports got a future and it's true to some extent but what they don't realise is how much competition among them for the recognition. I don't remember betting on them just only because the prize cap is limited to small amount and that's what the one who is organizing can afford to.

I’m an arcade player back in my high school days and highly competitive on tournament in malls that usually have a good prize rewards.

It will be an interesting experience. I like gambling that the outcome is determined by the skills of the players. I remember while growing up, we used to bet on video games and there were players that were very good that we used to also bet on them. I don't know if this kind of video betting group exists in my location. It might, maybe among younger video game players.  Maybe I will do a search to check if such exists in my country because I want to be a part of it.

There are various types of e-sports featured in various casinos and this is just one of them. I don't actually play this but I have tried football, dog race and few others in the past. I am no longer active in this aspect but I have seen live stream by people on Yiutube and it is really engaging. If it has become very portable now, I wouldn't mind going back to it, just that I consume a lot of my scarce time.

In my childhood, we were playing fighting 1x1 on arcade machine and game coins were our bets. We played street fighter and tekken later. That was offline gaming only, and I dont know how to organize such 1x1 match online except playing in on a console against someone who has been added as a friend previously. But that does not solve betting moment. Both participants have to trust each other, because loser can easily disappear and pay nothing.

This is not common in my country, maybe the online promotion aspect precisely. Since we've local teams who write matches to themselves and place a bet between themselves of equal amounts, they go around and invite rich men in the locality who places a reward on the winners and as such increases the dividends of winning the match. There's not any online promotion, but more funds are provided by rich neighbors, sponsors and football lovers around.

Maybe it's in the same context, but in a more local setting, or maybe not.

I see only few gamblers admires watching and playing bet money match in related video games, though i don't know how similar this is to virtual games, but due to the nature of screaming it, i think there is more of a little difference, but why i see this betting not that common is because gamblers cannot trust the process in it to an extent and may feels they will be cheated, unlike when you play sport bet or arcade games among others that has to do with your own personal abilities in playing them.

I haven't done this in a very long time, and this thread made me nostalgic. During my high school years, we used to gamble using Tekken 2 and Soul Calibur 2. What we did was that whoever was going against each other would put their bet in a pool, and whoever won would get everything in the pool.

Yeah back in the high school days it's so popular that we go there with some friends to have a good time and as technology keeps developing things kept changing and so is our betting chances. And I've so much loved playing this street fighter but right now I can't really find myself going back to do some certain things as this though, and that's because so many things I've changed in respect to time but it's sure an interesting game to play .

Street fighter is now included in Esports community, actually it will be included in Asian games this year and next year.
Esports is getting bigger and bigger. but in betting in Streeet Fighter, if it is not an official pro game, you should skip it.

I play video games for money, especially PlayStation football games, however, not in the same way as you, i mean were it is streamed online, Youtube and Twitch. I simply meet up with my friends and we take turns to visit each other's homes, and there we stake equally and play a form of tournament, were the winner takes all the money. It is usually fun and the gambling is healthy because we only stake pocket change on it, so nobody is losing much.

We play online, and there's a way for you to open a sort of room and invite another player to fight while others watch. Those who watch often stream it live on their streaming channels.

This game is available for both PC (via Steam) and for Xbox and PlayStation. It's really cool and has a steep learning curve... In fact, there are several tournaments around the world that offer great prizes. Just a few weeks ago, the Capcom Cup took place, and the winner walked away with one million dollars.

Yes, exactly! Here in my country, we have an instant payment system called PIX, and there's an online donation platform for streamers called LivePix (https://livepix.gg), where you can display a QR code on screen so viewers can donate to the "Prize Pool" of the match. This pool is usually split between the streamer and the winner of the fight, and sometimes the loser also gets a small percentage, since they participated in the "event" as well.

I remember a very cool application with the same idea, where they have like moderators or escrow agents, taking care of matches and challenges between many players. That app was even available on Google play but I couldn’t remember its name. They offer challenges in many popular games like, Pubg Mobile, Clash Royal, FIFA, and many other games.
Basically it’s a simple thing to do without having to use an application if you already have friends, and most likely it going to be more fun and exciting. That time I discovered that App, I started challenging my friends who were very addicted to PubgMobile. I was betting against them who’d win or have the lost kills.

In conclusion, when money is involved you will see more seriousness, better focus and more fun experience. Videogames can be more fun when you set a bet.

Any type of game that gets money on the line usually feels different completely, I personally have never played any video game with or for money but then, this is something that is very popular in the part of the world and area where I stay, aside whot whot which is a card game alot of people play with and for money against other interested parties..

There are video games like ps football, mortal kombat, car race, bike race and alot of others that many people do play with and for money, there is a game center in my area where anyone can walk in, and play any video game against friends or any other interested parties, this type of gambling is always very interesting to watch but also very risky because disagreement can come up anything that could lead to a serious fight.

Yes, when I was younger, we used to do this in the arcades that were around here, back in the days of Mortal Kombat 1, Samurai Shodown, over twenty years ago.

We even had a championship and the winner would get a certain amount of money that was determined at the time by the owner of the place. That way, he would sell more, make a profit and we would have fun.
