Are you only accepting bitcoin or are you open to fiat as well?
Only bitcoins unless we arrange for a face to face transaction, in that case I will take cash. I`m aware someone else mentioned fiat, but just had to ask since he asked it first. What about escrow.com thats reputable thats holding the money, until both parties agree. No thank, I've heard nothing but bad things from that site. I contacted tomatocage for escrow but he won't handle the equipment to insure its working properly.

We got a Gigabyte 280x or a PowerColor 290 we could put towards a trade. Both play WoW very nicely, from personal experience. We're willing to offer the 290 and 7 BTC. Anything more than that, and it's not worth it for us.

Second I don't think I will be able to complete the sale here, I'm not willing to ship first and for the last 2 days I've been looking for an escrow to handle the miner and exchange btc once they ship to the buyer with no success. I'm thinking Ebay will bring a better price and better security for the buyer to feel confident with the purchase.

Yep, we're about an hour north of Boston. You're in NY?

Yep, we're about an hour north of Boston. You're in NY? Yes I'm about a hour from Buffalo. Can you link me to the escrow so I can check over them and make sure they handle the equipment and all that good stuff? I see you have previous history but I still need to be cautious. All I have in my mind is how John K vanished with bitcoin and I thought I could trust him with anything, so you never really know. I will talk to the escrow you recommend then we can discuss the price. I've had about 3-4 people back out after plenty of time being spent negotiating terms because we need escrow.

I'm always available for escrow if we can't reach a deal for me to purchase the unit.

I'm thinking OgNasty is my best bet for escrow on forums. Anyone willing to use him for escrow can post or PM me offers (again).

How will the escrow through OGNasty work?
Any escrow used will need to accept payment from the buyer then I will ship the unit to OgNasty, he will confirm it runs properly and ship the unit to you and send me bitcoins. It's the only way I can think of. I'm worried someone may try to say I sent a broken unit or empty box etc. This way the escrow personally tests and confirms everything and handles all the funds. Only downside is buyer will need to pay shipping 2x.

Do you have any concept of how escrow actually works, you do nothing to change the equation there since the sender is responsible for dealing with shipping damage so you are telling us all the OgNasty is going to assume all of that liability for you for what kind of fee? I wish you the best but just use escrow like most do and you will fare much better..

No he doesn't assume any liability, once he confirms it works and he sends it off the buyer has the liability. If he wants to pay for insurance that is an option too or he can meet for face to face transaction, I will even buy lunch. I'm not totally sure you know how it works.

I would like to discuss a deal but apparently there is something wrong with the escrow verifying the miner and shipping to the buyer. I feel like it's a setup for a scam, buyer says miner is broken or box was empty etc and I don't see the problem with escrow verifying the rig. The only problem would be if the buyer is trying to pull a fast one.

As I said in our PMs, the bigger risk of a scam is the escrow agent running off with both your miner AND the buyers coins. That said, I've had this happen once or twice: The hardware gets damaged in shipping. A) shipping the unit twice doubles the chance of it getting damaged in transit, and B) usually something can be worked out between the buyer and seller. In the event of an issue, it usually goes down one of two ways: 1) the buyer ships it back to the seller on their dime, and the buyer gets their coins back. The buyer only gets their coins back if they return the hardware to the seller, otherwise the seller gets them. 2) The buyer keeps the unit (say it hashes fine, and it's just cosmetic damage), and the seller gets their coins. If anything other than these two scenarios were to happen, the escrow agent steps in and acts as mediator. The end result is that whoever gets the hardware, the other person gets the coins. The escrow agent is there to make sure this happens. It's a decent system that offers a fair protection for both the buyer and seller. You don't need to reinvent the wheel and create overly complicated scenarios where you might come across an intentionally malicious buyer. That rarely happens, esp when you're dealing with people who have a known positive trade history. I'm partially referring to myself, and partially referring to some of the other people in this thread who have offered to buy it, and have excellent records. Lightlord is an example of this.

Thanks for adding much needed clarity to the point I was trying to make.. The overly complicated situation the seller is trying to engineer is in itself a concern, I understand the reasoning but it adds extra risk on both the part of the seller and buyer with no real way to address the shortfall if any of the parties are malicious. The buyer can still say he got a broken miner and because of the way shipping insurance works the responsibility for dealing with the claim, etc. is on the shipper, in the case of MGK's scenario that would be OgNasty, if he releases the coins to MGK before addressing then he didn't do his job an an escrow agent yet he is stuck in the middle as long as the insurance claim is outstanding.
