I became addicted to trading in 2021. Can you imagine? I've gambled for years without an addiction and trading made me addicted to the point that I lost almost all of my money and was going to take a huge loan to deposit on Binance and recover my losses but that didn't happen.
Now I think back and I realise what happened to me. I turned trading into gambling by opening short and long positions on the futures market with increased leverage. I was trading with 5x and 10x leverage but even 2x leverage is very dangerous because exchanges often artificially pump and dump the futures market to liquidate customers.
The best way to not get addicted to trading is to change your habits. Do not trade daily if you are a whale because you won't profit, that's impossible. Also, instead of catching every possible moment, focus on the best moments. I focus on the best moments and only trade once or twice a year, sometimes once in 2 years. Now I'm calm, relaxed, no stress and profit more than before.

As a trader I can say that it can indeed happen. In fact, I may have been in a phase where I was always uneasy when I didn't open the market one day or one time.
