Frankly, I was quite surprised by what happened on the pitch. I had initially thought the match would end in a draw or that Real Madrid would emerge victorious, because even though Liverpool has the advantage of playing at home, their performance is inconsistent, while Real Madrid is in good form, but it turns out my guess was completely wrong. What happened on the field was that Liverpool played with a very neat rhythm, while Real Madrid looked confused in building up and also in defending, and I think if their goalkeeper was not Courtois, Real Madrid would have conceded more than 1 goal.

Real Madrid's midfield was completely helpless, as was the flank, therefore, it is very difficult for them to open up space and create opportunities. Somehow, Real Madrid looks pretty good in the domestic league, but strangely, they often have difficulties when they have to face teams from the Premier League(like last season where they were completely slaughtered by Arsenal).

To be fair Real Madrid failed to find a way to connect defense to offense. Liverpool was pressing like crazy which made Real Madrid players not have more than 2 seconds find the next move, and that caused them to have some trouble. Which shows their weakness, they do not have players like Modric and Kroos anymore and this was the game that proved why those players were so important.

If they had anyone like Kroos or Modric, they would have taken a step back, breath, and start the attack a bit more carefully, and run the Liverpool players to ground by making them run. Think about it, what does press require? Liverpool players to press where the ball is, then Real Madrid players could have just passed endlessly until they broke Liverpool players mentality, morale and stamina.

Liverpool played really well in this match. We have seen this team perform poorly  for a long time. Liverpool deserve that winning they perform better than Real Madrid, due to Liverpool poor performance many never have confident in Liverpool to win all thought was that Real Madrid is going to win due to their recent good form but sometimes football works in the opposite. It was a big win for Liverpool, if they can put this energy and perform the same way in their next games they will hardly loss a game, this season Champions league will be tough as before, Bayern Munich seems unstoppable this season across all competition.

Honestly for this first half that I watched, Chelsea team we're the underdog. They really didn't match up to the efficiency and strength of the home team, although they seemed more tactical but the home team were able to mount do much pressure on them and they absorbed it. Hato isn't really having a good time in this match and it's better he's replaced for the second half.

I can say that Maresca is mad, for removing Gittens to put Garnacho shows me that he's further undermining the real danger. Let's see how he pulls through this mistake.
