FIFA Club World Cup will be played from June 14 to July 13. This is first instance of this expanded format and it seems FIFA has big plans for it. It is only fitting we have some action centered around it on the forum. And who better to partner for it than Sportsbet.io?

We will have 2 competitions this time, standard superbru pool + official fantasy game.

Sponsorship
We will have 2500$ of sponsorship money paid in BTC before competition begins. I will be escrow on following address bc1qu7yur5kkmqe0d35dg85dyssvg4jyauasglw4w9, Initial plan was to split it evenly 1250 for Superbru and 1250 for Fantasy. But if it really comes out that Superbru has several more players than fantasy I will probably shift it a little and we will have something like 1400-1100 split.

+1mBTC free bet for each round winner in both pools (2mBTC per GW total)

*all transaction fees will be paid from 1. place reward in superbru pool. There is a bit extra on escrow so this reward could end up a dollar or few bigger or smaller in the end

*tie breakers
There is no sharing of rewards we will use ranking as provided by the superbru and fantasy. You can check tie breakers for superbru under the table. For fantasy I couldn't really find them, we just have to hope they are implemented and done in logical fashion. Still should be more fair than anything I can do.

As for the competition itself, at the group stage it will be pure clown show, it even hurts me to think about the possible results.

Love it that we are all so far in agreement about 1 mBTC fees. Really feels like a soft spot for this one so unless I hear some incredibly good reason taken by at least several people it will be 1 mBTC per each pool.

Have no idea what to expect from this World Club Championship. Should be fun though. And now we have incentive to figure it out.

It is not a must. It is 2 separate pools and I will treat them as such. All fees in Superbru pool will be used just for that pool. I thought it was clear in the OP

Will be a weird tournament so it's anybody's game I guess. Don't like this Fantasy format - especially now when we'll have to find value in teams that we've never seen play before.
Still - lazy summer so nothing better to do then watch replays of some Asian teams, eh?

Finally got something to look forward to for the next couple of weeks, count me in for at least one of the pool. I have not been in a fantasy pool yet, so I will be doing some assessments before joining. I definitely will be in the superbru one.

Depends a lot on how many players there is and exact amount we get for sponsorship. As always all the money goes to rewards and I will be looking to reward maybe top 20% or top 25% of the pool in top heavy distribution.

When sponsorship becomes done deal I will write initial rewards with approximation of let's say 20 players in superbru pool and 15 in fantasy. That is why I asked that you announce your participation here Final rewards will be available as soon as the pool closes for new participants. Probably kick off time of the first game.

I think situation will be much clearer next weekend and we will have 90% of things locked in. You can check my La Liga or Serie A pool for a rough idea as well.

Heh heh. Underdogs in fantasy is very bad too, but this tournament is what I would say has a lot of X factor players from Concacaf and AFC especially. Then again, the big European stars should probably have an "easier" time against opponents who don't know them? I do hope people join both pools though, Superbru is the no-brainer that everyone likes but Fantasy... is a different beast I think people just don't feel like approaching. It's definitely a time-sinker but as frka says, it's not like we have any other club football to distract us.

Have to say, I'm also really cynical about this competition. Like you say, the group stage is laughable. Top seeded teams are worth many times the rest of the group combined, so I really find it hard to take it seriously. Then again, last week a United team featuring Fernandes and Maguire lost to an "all-ASEAN stars" B team full of bottom-pile FIFA ranked national players...

Hello, one of the evils asked me to check this out buway always pressure me but after I got invited to EFL I actually got a prize so who knows, another beginners luck!!

For sure count me into the Superbru pool. About Fantasy pool, I'm not sure yet I have to see if I can learn about it in time but even normal fantasy premier league seems too timeconsuming for me no matter how many times I get pressured lol

Fantasy eats up time yes, although you can take the easy route of favorites (which is what I will do haha) and make picks based on your own feeling of who will win the tournament. It's good that the group system is done in the old format - only two teams advance to the next round, without any "best third places" and the like. The playoff stage will be similar to a normal tournament.
I can assume that the Fantasy winner will be the one who guesses the results that are expected in the group stage, like 7-0 or 8-0, and those players who will make hat-tricks.

1. We do it as usual and reward yellow cap / highest scorer in each pool with 1 mBTC free bet

1mBTC freebet is a great incentive for you guys to join Fantasy pool as well. It's currently just 5 of us, one is buwaytress, so the path to a freebet is as open as it gets.

This is actually a nice setup for the FIFA Club World Cup .Partnering with Sportsbet.io is a nice one too, and that $2,000 sponsorship (with potential for more ) is actually attractive . It's great because it offers something for everyone, whether you prefer straightforward predictions or the deeper dive of managing a fantasy team.

The 1mBTC buy-in for each is kinda fair and should keep things nice and competitive. Plus, being able to shift prize money based on which game is more popular is also nice from the aspect of flexibility. Venturing this though is like I'm prepped to lose  .

Count me in for both pools as well, I'm not sure I'll have full grasp of the fantasy before the kickoff, with FIFA/UEFA it's usually learn as you go, at least for me, but in for a penny... yada, yada...
