I gambler is one that gamble often there are people who are part-time gambler's because they don't engage on it often they only engaged in gambling on their spare time or occasionally these categories of people you can't say that they are really gambler's but a real gambler is one that always is engaged in gambling every day a gambler finds it difficult not to gamble each day that passes a real Gambler is defined by how addictive that he is

At least once a week is good to be considered as a regular gambler, it's only scale we have to come into a conclusion, but it is perceptive of who is asking the question. If someone who never gambled considers someone as a gambler even if they tried it once or a few times, but if someone who gambles too often won't consider the same person as a gambler. But why we need to care what they think of us, we don't have to be certified as a gambler if we want to.

I don't think if I've ever put myself to this point of thinking but as yoy've asked, I'll say everyone on regular placing of bet whether they wins or not either in sports or other gaming activities and social events with the expectation of winning and make profits.
Some may otherwise say gamblers are those who had craved interest on bettings with a higher risk taking such as values to stake and efforts in analyzing the games just to make sure they wins.

A person isnt necessarily a gambler just cause they put some money on a game of chance.  If that made you a gambler, then anyone whose ever bought a scratch ticket or played cards with their buddies would qualify.

Are you literally saying that those that bought scratch tickets and those that plays cards with their buddies only do that once and never do them again? they will keep doing it again because someone who scratch a ticket and didn't get lucky will think that if he keeps scratching it from time to time that he will get lucky one day, also for those who plays cards with buddies, i'm sorry to say but that is where the real gambling started because they play their own gambling with challenge such that they never give up as the loser always tries to recover the losses he got from his friend and by so doing that is how they will be engaging in it regularly. Before answering this question I have to say about that in my home I did multiple work like cooking, repairing the water line or the electric wire line but that doesn't mean I am a chef, plumber or electrician.

Like that way I will also say that the people who gamble regularly it can be daily, bi-day, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly but it have to be consistent regular. I would not call anyone who place bet one or two times in their life.

The moment you place a bet, you should already be considered a gambler. There are different types - newbies, experienced ones, and pro gamblers. It’s all just different levels.

I think you are generalizing things too much. You are right that people who scratch a ticket and lose might try again, but not all of them. Personally, I have bought a lottery ticket a few times in my life too. Lost. Never bought another one.  The thrill wears off quickly when you realize that you are just throwing money into a black hole.  

Friendly card games can be where it starts, absolutely. But if it stays a friendly game with controlled stakes and no chasing, its just that - a game. It crosses into gambling when the control is lost and the pursuit of wins (or recovery of losses) becomes paramount, regardless of the cost.

The difference between a casual player and a true gambler isnt just what games they play, but how they approach those games and their reaction to losing.  Someone who occasionally buys a scratch ticket for fun, loses, and thinks nothing more of it is merely dabbling in games of chance for entertainment or out of pure curiosity.  But someone who keeps spending more money they likely cant afford to lose in a desperate attempt to win back their losses has become straight-up gambling.  At least thats how I see it.

I don't want to tell it that someone needs to become an addicted gambler to be classified as a gambler. One or two bets are already enough to say that they're gambler. There is no big classification on how to become one because for the most gamblers here, we all know that it started from one to few bets and then the rest is history and now, we're gamblers on our own pace and discovered a lot of things started with the little that we have before.

There are a couple of categories of gamblers, like regular gamblers, professional gamblers or occasional gamblers. So your gambling behaviour will determine what kind of gambler you are. Whether they are gambling for fun or for the money, it doesn't change the fact that they are engaging in gambling activities, except maybe they would want to change the name from gambling to something else just to prove that they have a different motive from other regular kinds of gamblers and we know there is no such thing as that. The bottom line is that every gambler who gambles is risking something of value to them in order to get more money or fun, as they claim.

I believe when someone is called as a gambler, there is a conviction onto it that you've been doing that for so many times and people have known you to be one because you're too attached to it. When a person gambles for a few times, maybe he can consider himself as a gambler or maybe he won't personally acknowledge that he's one. As long as you stake money, you are a gambler. The only thing is we are different types of gamblers: some gamble seasonally, some gamble occasionally, and some don't even have time or a season but gamble all the time.

Any person who is regularly involved in gambling is considered a gambler. Now, if you gambled today and you gamble tomorrow, then you should gamble again, then you are not a gambler. It would not make sense to consider you a gambler. Also, any game that people put money into to be able to play and if they are lucky they can win money is considered gambling. If you are playing video games with friends, this is not considered gambling.

Gambling is not only limited to casinos or betting sites. There are so many forms of gambling. "Gambling" is just a general word given to it and once you engage in any of it either off or on a casino you are a gambler.. let's say you could be a gambler at one point but not anymore if you no longer do it. Yes, gambling for fun is still part of gambling and being a gambler. I join forces with those who classify gamblers as those who gamble consistently, it doesn't matter if it's for fun or money minded, in an online casino or a physical shop, the idea that you from time acknowledge betting over and over directly applies to you as a gambler. I will also include those who do the traditional style of gambling as long it is a consistent habit, you don't need to be an addict before being identified as a gambler.

• If you have bet with a friend who will win the next football match, you are a gambler.
• If you have bought a lottery ticket, you are also a gambler.
• If you place regular bets on sports betting sites, you are a gambler.
