Like I said... I wake up a lot more tired from naps. Some people get energized but it just makes me feel like sleeping some more
I'm the same way. Taking a 90 min nap in the middle of the day would destroy my productivity and ruin my sleep that night. The same. After such a nap I need at least another 30 min to get my circulation and brain working properly again.

The best naps are those who last 15 minutes, that way your body does not have the time to fall in full-sleep mode, so you actually wake up feeling rested. Worked great when I was working the night shift.
That would be like being with a woman for 15 seconds, pulling out and calling it good. I don't think so, I don't like to be teased. If I don't get at least 6 hours 4 days a week I'm a grouch.

I dont know if any of this actually holds any water but here goes...
I recall something about 'natural cycles' from my Psychology class in college. Something about every person has their own cycle that works best for them. My parents say when I was very young I would be awake for basically 3 days and then sleep for the 4th day. I would guess I did sleep some but not in large amounts. Then after I graduated high school I went off on my own and not having a job and trying to learn some programming. let me fall into this cycle again. I would stay up for 3 days at a time and then crash the 4th day. I felt fine doing it and actually got a lot of work done. Food for thought.
Food for thought.Sure is...I can go ~35 to 40 hours, but 3 days sounds extreme. I felt fine doing it and actually got a lot of work done. Aren't you tired and "foggy headed" after ~2 or 2.5 days? Sorry for the delay in reply. No doubt about it I was tired and day 3 I did slow down and have a foggy head at times. Im not saying everyone can do this or even that i could do it again but at the time it worked for me. Granted I also was not doing much physical labor but learning programming is pretty mentally draining. This could be more common that you think, we just dont have the numbers to prove one way or the other simply because our society doesnt allow for people to try it. We are a "9 to 5" society for the most part.

I live in Vietnam and often send cash back to the UK. This was my experience transferring cash to the UK yesterday. 1. Phone bank and make an appointment to see the manager. 2. Arrive at bank to find manager and all her staff asleep on the floor of the bank (naptime 12-1.30 every day - seriously you wouldnt think these people are adults:)) 3. Wake manager up...She spends 5 minutes finding and waking up the person who can do my transfer. They come over a few minutes later, hair a mess, yawning, shoes off asking me for my passport, work permit, residence card, payment...Off they go for 10 minutes...4. Fill in 3 forms by hand: name, address, bank details, contact details, employer... Cant photocopy anything so have to spend 10 minutes writing the same thing on all 3 forms. Have to do my signature, 3 times on each form...ooops but sir you forgot to write your full name...of course 9 signatures doesn't suffice. 5. Off she goes again....15 more minutes copying my forms...returns my passport, work permit, residence card. Picking her nose...yawning and stretching... 6. Comes back...starts to explain what the interest rate will be, what the charges will be ($65 for $1500 to UK that takes 3-5 days)...try telling her its ok, I understand...sorry sir have to tell you everything..zzzzz... Reminds me i have to come back and fill in a form for taxes within 21 days... 50 minutes later I leave and all I know is that in 3-5 days MY money will eventually be moved to the UK whilst they charge me $65 for the pleasure.... Thats why i want Litecoin and Bitcoin to succeed. https://images.weserv.nl/?w=800&url=1.bp.blogspot.com/_1t0ZVfTuMi4/TTVjegBk8TI/AAAAAAAAAEM/VMWlAKkv5Xg/s640/vietnam+226.jpg&fnr

I read about this dude on reddit who had managed to get into a weird sleep cycle where he only needed to sleep 3-4x 1h per day to be fully rested and not feel a single negative whiplash from it.
It was something about first staying awake for around 48 hours, then only sleeping for a couple of hours the first time and after that only one hour every 6 hours.
He had managed to keep that up for 1 year, no consequences. Had a shitload of extra time to finish school and work at the same time.
I'd like having 20h/day awake time without consequences and never being tired.
Yeah 20 hours a day I could post more xD also 1 year?!?! Did he finally crash after that? So much could be done if sleep wasn't in the way!

We weren't arguing with that, it seems we are arguing how little sleep we can get away with and still have those 10 benefits.

Heard of the Dymaxion or Uberman sleep cycle? Looked up the uberman cycle, something said is not safe you can try it, there was allegedly a man, a blogger, think his name was Steve Pavlina or something like that who lived on the cycle for over 6 months, went to a doctor to get checked and was perfectly healthy!
