How in the world do you think Cristiano Ronaldo would win the Ballon d'Or with his present performance and the league he is playing in. Raphinha and Yamal are in better form than the Portuguese skipper.

He has more goals, has won more titles and is the best in history, Yamal does not, he lost the Nations League, he did not even reach the final of the UCL, in that sense if we are objective the one who can win everything including the Ballon d'Or is Vitnha, Raphinha does not because he did not win the UCL either.

You really have a good point here, football right now is all about numbers, how many trophy do you win, how many goals and assist were you able to register in your name and how impactful were you to achieving all this.
I have said this before and am still going to say it again, if Lamine yamal is given the ballon d'Or with this his very poor numbers register to his name, Cristiano Ronaldo will be proving right that the ballon d'or award have lost it credibility.
Even in that Barcelona team, raphinha has a better goal and assist more than this Lamine yamal that most people are clamouring about, so giving him this award will make no sense in my own opinion, when their are players that did well and even have numbers and trophies more than him this season.

Personally I don't think Rodri deserved the ballon d'or last year but his performance from EURO couldn't be ignored so I guess in a way deserve it but if we take his performance only from Man City then he didn't deserve it.

Vitinha has been majestic for PSG this season and he is my Ballon D'or no matter what. Sure , most of the vots will go to Dembele most likely but I won't be surprised to see Vitinha actually winning it.

the idea is not bad, but you can't always decide the winner based on that. to say that the ballond'or only goes to the player who won the champions league would make it no longer a prize for individual performance. that is the important point. if what ballond'or determines is who played the best that season, of course it matters who did what in which tournament, but the champions league cannot be the only criterion.

i could go on and on, but what i'm trying to say is that the performance of the players is the most important thing, and you can see the performance by looking at the difficulty of the tournament, the league, the quality and the impact of the player.

it's not a case of “this” or “that”. there are different tournaments every season and there is not always a undoubtable way to determine the overall situation.

I believe in what Cristiano Ronaldo said about the Balon d’Or winner, unless they’re not being just and biased that’s when we can say that they will use other criteria to select the Balon d’Or winner. This was also was caused the lay Balon d’Or winner selection to be talked about and termed unjust the last time when it was given to Rodri.

I know that other trophies are to be considered because all the leagues in Europe are top leagues without underrating any of them when compared to what we see outside of Europe. I did not need to go into details to read, hear and interpret what Christiano Ronaldo said in order to agree with what he said and also because this has long been a topic of confusion for me, because I see players who are supposed to win the Ballon d' Or after proving beyond reasonable doubt of their talents and input till the final when their team won all thanks to their brilliance and team play, actually have this much coveted award given to someone else who had less presence till the final and neither did as much to deserve it. The balon d'Or title is likely going to Osman dembele regardless of the fact that lamine yamal and even raphinah equally has a fantastic season. We can arguably say that it will be very fair to give him not just because he won the champions league but because he's hard a fair contribution in everything that psg won for the season.  The balon d'Or is a world best player award and not the champions league best player award. Even though the consideration is mostly about the champions league and the world cup because of the way they are being ranked, if a player only performs well in the champions league and falls to show up effectively in other leagues and even put up a general good attitude that's worthy of a good sportsman, it's going to eventually have a serious effect on the likely of the player winning it. In all of those consideration, dembele ticks most of the boxes effortlessly.
